Came for lunch at 11.30am on a Saturday. Just about made it and got a table before the lunch crowd came in 5 mins later. On Service - hats off to Khai. Very attentive and pro-active with my 2 toddlers. For food, taste and quality is superb, though a bit pricey. Nice environment.

Ippudo is my favourite ramen place ever. Good ramen and good service. Taste is fantastic. But may be some of you will say the broth is a bit salty. The combination is just superb.

It's my second time visiting IPPUDO. First time I visited Kuala Lumpur. So I decided to visit it in Penang. I ordered: Ramen set with ice cream and Yuzu drink. Unagi roll. Beef bun. Bacon skewers. Unagi roll comes with a super crunchy topping. And the rice was cold. For the 59RM you could really make it better. Not so much unagi, but lots of crunchy topping. Disappointed. Ramen is nice! Beef bun and bacon skewers are nice, but ultra small. Like for the kittens. What is expected for 10rm each. The personnel are super friendly , and I love it. +16% taxes are above the price, so it's written in the bottom of the menu. Be warned. 157RM finals. I'm actually into every Japanese restaurant in the Penang. For now I must say - It's expensive but I didn't feel it in the food.

The ramen tasted great, food came relatively fast, service was also good. If you want a good bowl of Japanese ramen, you should give this place a visit. Although if you give a 5 stars review, you'd get a free scoop of ice cream, so make of that what you will.

Came here for dinner, served by a very RUDE waitress named FANG LING. Firstly, we raised our hand to get her attention once we were seated to ask about a promo, she came and shouted "WAIT" and walk away to do something else. We were shocked and waited, she came again after a few minutes. We asked about some details about the promotion, she SIGHED and rolled eyes in front of us before answering us!!! If you're so unhappy working and serving customers, please stop working!!! I really hope this outlet does something to improve the service, there were quite a lot of reviews complaining about the services, waiter and waitress in this outlet. The food is always good here. Only the service which is TERRIBLE. Do something please IPPUDO Gurney Plaza.

Overall is great but I personally do hope they can add further level of spiciness, not spicy enough for level 3~ XD

Delicious 🤤🥰 recommended for ramen lover. I ordered Akamaru Special (you can customize the spicy level and noodle) and my mom ordered Shiromaru Special. Fried Rice also yummy 😍

Update: Had the opportunity to try the weekday set lunches today. Definitely great value for money as you not only get a choice of ramen or fried rice, but you get great quality side dishes including salmon sashimi to go with your main entree. Will need to make more weekday visits. One of the better ramen establishments in Penang. Even though the price is higher, you do get what you pay for in terms of quality. Worth a visit to get authentic Japanese ramen experience without going all the way to Japan.

Always a crowd esp on weekends. Go early. Check out the specials before you order. Service is efficient but sometimes hard to get their attention on busy days. Expensive ramen but it's worth the trip. Remember to ask for raw garlic.

Been here a few times. But first time during Covid period. They have extremely strict SOPs in place. Even if you are from the same household, seated on the same table, they will get you to seat further apart leaving one seat in between. Not too sure if that’s necessary at all. Even if you are seated on the counter seats, you have to leave a seat space in between. This will make sharing of food extremely difficult between family or even friends. Other than that, the staff is quite friendly. Went there for late lunch around 3pm, but food service was slow, quite surprising given the restaurant wasn’t full. The saving grace was the food - Akamaru ramen was great as usual.

You can't go wrong with ippuddo ramen, finished all our broth down to the last drop.

Delicious ramen, excellent service and clean environment. Highly recommended if you are craving a bowl of authentic Japanese ramen. We usually order the shiromaru special for non-spicy diners and karakamen special for spicy lovers. There are 4 different levels of spice- original, level 1, 2 and 3 being spiciest.

Ramen Restaurant with a sake bar counter. Signature 10th anniversary Yuzu Ramen set. Great ambience in a convenient location at Gurney Plaza. With alfresco seating as well.

One of the best place for ramen. They have it of all sorts, from plain broth to rich and to spicy ones. You can also choose the texture of the noodles. At times, there are promotional set on going which allows you to have all in one from ramen to drinks.

Nice place to warm your tummy especially on a rainy day. Waitress very nice, lets you take your time to decide on your order - every single ramen looks delicious 🤤 Had a hard time deciding.

Best experience, comfort place, reasonable price because of delicious food and good service. Salmon Sashimi very fresh.

We were one of their first customers of the day, but the broth were surprisingly salty (normally i assume broth must be overboiled due to low demand). The meat tasted okay, the noodles was allright, but compared to other countries' Ippudo, this branch's is quite underwhelming. They have much more menu varieties than other countries, but the taste was kinda funky (tamago bacon had too much pepper and salt, bacon looks extremely undercooked. Tebasaki was slightly charred, but otherwise tasted okay. Ippudo kuro was too peppery, it was like eating pepper soup, perhaps you should plug some holes on the pepper dispenser.... Akamaru chasiu was okay, quite salty and thus making it not as tasty as it should have been. The female server was attentive enough to refill our ocha when it needed some boost. Overall the foods gets 2*/5* Ambience 3*/5* Service 3*/5* Price 2.5*/5*

Decent ramen but did not live up to it's pricing. We ordered 3 types of tonkotsu ramen: white (basic), red (with spice and sasame oil) and black (not sure). They tasted great, but not really wow. Portion and size of protein is also decent but not surprising. You can get similar quality at 70% of the price. Expect to spend near RM50 per head (Green tea alone is RM5+).

I found the food and the service to be excellent at this Ippudo location. Food was served promptly and the service from staff were all nice and attentive. Salmon Sashimi was excellent and were very generous portions. Well worth the price. Thank you guys.

You can't complain, having not compromise to suit certain majority group dietary preferences and follow its true core. I'm always a fan of this brand. I'm rather shock they have way more variety offering than Japan or Singapore branches. Not that I'm not impressed but I'm being spoiled by rather good ramen over the years. To compare to it's original country branch it's not there yet but on par with Singapore branches. A rather good bowl standard ramen. Love their local sides of braised meat bun . The offering of sashimi is also generous. At least there is a place in Penang to have a good ramen fix .

Ippudo has been my favorite shop but this time is a bit disappointed. The portion is too small and price is relatively high. A bowl of ramen with such small quantity, costing rm$30-40, with a glass of green tea costing another rm$5.5, and the 10% service charge and 6% SST. Altogether it become expensive. And it appears that the taste has dropped.

Love their specialty ramen. Esp worth it during any promotion period. Can never go wrong. Using their app you get a free pork bun the first time sign up.

food is good. Fries is surprisingly nice. Ramen potion is big. My kids love it very much

The noodles are quite hard even though i ordered soft, but overall everything is fine. The broth is the best, very flavourful. Dessert was also fine, but it's true that it's very expensive.

😠 I reached at around 2:30pm and still need to queue till 3:00 pm. Disappointed with the food because the deep fried fish roe and fish are hard rather than crispy. The gravy is also so so only.

👍 Queue seemed quite long when we arrived around 2.30 pm but we only waited about 20 minutes. I think they should have more signage to tell customers what to do so the process can be easier. There was only one waiter upstairs in the seating area so it was quite difficult to get his attention. Food is...
