We booked for 2 days but ended up looking for another hotel on day 2. Our bed had bed bugs, the blanket was dirty and we slept without the blanket - worried about bugs. The male staff sits around the hotel shirtless and with only a pair of boxers..the water refilling area was filthy and the toilets were bad. We booked the room without checking the reviews - would not recommend to anyone!

This place is absolutely discusting. The rooms are dirty, walls are falling apart, bedsheets torn, toilets clogged. And they charge like 80 MYR for this. I think this hostel should be banned from being offered to tourists before they start thinking about their customers.

SHAME TO MANAGE HERE!!! Mouse and bugs running in my room, under the bed was terrible( dust and garbage), room wasn’t cleaned at least 2 weeks, garbage was full and overflowing, asked to staff 4 times to clean and they say ‘tomorrow’ after that I want to clean and asked for the cleaners after that the guy just sweeped a bit but still dirty under my feet is get dirty. Toilets are like tomb, if you have enclosed space fear don’t even think this hotel. isolation of sound is ‘0’ when someone walking on the corridor you can feel inside you. AC wasn’t working and service come to room at ‘9 AM’ while me and roommate was sleeping and they disturbed us without even knocking door or noticed before!!! If I have a chance I’ll give -5 stars.

This is my second time staying here. Compared to other guesthouses this was a little cheaper, however the breakfast advertised is no longer available after COVID-19. The staff were really friendly and helpful; the place had a nice atmosphere. The top floor bathrooms are significantly better than the bottom floor bathrooms.

If there was a negative star, I would have given to this filthy hotel. Rooms are dirty, beds are uncomfortable. AC seems to be broken. Bathroom are pathetic. Yucky feeling when you enter into the bathroom, doors are not in proper working condition, they don't keep toilet rolls or hand wash....you are on your on if you check in to this hotel. All the things I find it here are negative....if there was one thing positive I would've recommended this place. But no, don't go with the high ratings, just one word for this place : pathetic.

If u r reading reviews, pls pls faster go check for another guest house. Faster run as fast as u can. But if u r haunted adventurer I definitely recommend u this.

Simple rooms and breakfast. You get what you pay. It's a good option for 1 or 2 nights. If you want to stay more time in George Town I'll recommend a more comfortable place. Well located. Just a few minutes away by walk from the jetty and the nightlife zone.

I was stay for 2 nights, room very smelly, dirty, 1st day found dead cockroach, 2nd day found alive cockroach. Standing aircon very noisy. No window. I will never visit again. Bad experience.

yeah it's budget accommodation but it's extremely poor in maintaining it's room's , lights nd toilets mainly. 2 out of 5 toilets were not suitable to use because can't lock the door. place is very dirty and need painting for the rooms. i will not recommend this house for the vacation stay. it will ruin your entire vacation mood.

We found a hairbrush and old hair in our bed, under the "clean" blanket. Which clearly means the sheets hasn't been changed since the previous guests... NOT OK! Both the room and the toilet/bath aren't cleaned. It's dirty. Very poorly maintained.

This place is awesome! I stayed there 2 nights and extended 2 more. The place is very quiet, you will sleep like a baby no traffic noise. And you are directly in the city to get to all important sights. Super clean and comfortable. We stayed in the newer private double room which was quiet small but had everything we needed and a strong AC. Highly recommended!

Rooms are clean, Homestay looks nice, Owner & Staff is so so so so Helpful, I will definitely come here back

It's so far from the city and far from people too. If you are planning with friends? Sure ok but not for single traveler

This is my first time that check in and check out at the same time. 1) dirty room and smelly. Dirty blanket/towel. 2) hostel environment dark and dirty. 3) share shower = dirty and broken

Don't understand why this hostel is so highly rated. The hostel is dark and dirty, especially the shared shower/toilet is very nasty and all wet all the time. Also our room didn't have a window. The only fresh air we had was from the van.. The only good thing was the kind staff.

Really cannot recommend this place. 2 stars because the staff are nice and the location is good, but firstly the showers and toilets were disgusting. If they were cleaned during the 5 days I stayed here then that was not obvious at all. One toilet did not flush, the other the drain was blocked by hair so that disgusting scummy shower water, which runs from other peoples showers, collected around your feet. On the first night I was disturbed until past 1am by shouting and banging, possibly some domestic incident, and as no staff are present after 8:30pm there was nobody to sort out the situation. The second night the AC dripped water all night and flooded part of the floor causing peoples belongings to get wet. The third night the electricity stopped working (so no AC and it became too hot to sleep) and was not fixed until after 1am. The breakfast is just toast which you have to toast yourself. But to be fair the price is not expensive, the old building is kinda cool, and the staff are friendly. But I cannot recommendation staying here.

The place is strategic. The Owner n staffs are friendly and helpfull. The room is comfortable and enough space for dormitory with 6 beds. The toilet is okay. Among the dormitories i have been stayed in abroad countries, it was the first time the staff helped me to bring my bag inside 😁👍 very kind.

I suspect they didn't change the bed cover after customer check out.

It is as what you would expect from a budget homestay. Location wise, it is very strategic & close to the attractions & restaurants in the city.

Lovely place to stay. The guy that greeted us, Vincent, was very helpful and friendly, providing us with maps and information as we arrived. The location is just off of love street, so enough away from the hustle and bustle, but only 5 minutes from all the action. We stayed in a private room which was pretty clean, and very spacious. The only downside was how thin the walls were between rooms, meaning you can hear things from the room next door and visa versa. The WiFi was also good, which is unlike a lot of places in malaysia Overall, a very nice place to stay, and I would definitely return.

I understand this is a budget hostel, but my experience here was terrible: the bed was awful, really thin mattress where I could feel the springs (woke up with back pains everyday), the sheets were so old that there were holes in them and the blanket looked like it hadn't been washed forever. The showers had very little water (takes forever to wash your hair) and there's only one drain for 3 stalls, so the water of other people's shower just puddles at your feet (disgusting). The bathrooms also had poor ventilation, so it gets very hot in there and it smelled like cigarettes. One day, there was a guy sleeping on the floor for hours and I actually had to go over him to reach the bathroom. On another day, there was a guy screaming and banging the walls of his room (really strange). Some of the staff was grumpy and the hostel itself is kind of dark, contributing to the weird atmosphere. Good things were: working A/C, fast Wi Fi and good location, just 5' walk from Love Lane.

Nice atmosphere and good staff. However rooms are small and most have no windows. The bathroom needs to be upgraded a bit as it smells most of The time. The owners just have to put in a bit more effort because the place can be really nice.

Great relaxing stay at this heritage house! I was in a single room which I thought was great value for the money. Large common spaces with a cozy atmosphere. Very close to the busy spots, but in a quiet area.

The owner is very nice and the hostel is well located. Rooms are very big and beds comfortable. Aircon wasn't very cold and the showers weren't that powerful.

I would like to warn you not to book with this accommodation because it is not at all like the picture shown on the website. Going in and feeling scary and not safe
