Privacy is a joke at this place, the Indonesian lady (fair, short, plump, loud) just snatched the covering we had around our bed in the dorm while we were asleep, woke us up rudely just to say 2 person cant sleep in one bed (we paid for the bunk bed, top and bottom) , i think its up to us to sleep however we want. She was so rude to us the entire stay, misunderstandings that could have been resolved easily but made difficult. Racial profiling perhaps? I dont know. Do better.

One of worst hostel I've ever stayed. No words good enough to describe this place. the shared bathrooms were dirty, I'm pretty sure they didn't change the bed sheet and the pillow case. The bunk beads were squeaky and unstable. There were no curtain to cover the bunk beads, don't expect any privacy in the room. This place is so under maintenance. The only good thing from this place is that the location where is in the heart of Georgetown.

The worst place you can ever imagined. Extremely smelly, I have to keep my mask on in order to fall asleep, and all my clothes smells like shxt after spending just one night there! Many long-term people(non-traveller, always seeing them in the common area) staying there and the place is not really backpacker-friendly (at least for my case). Facilities are basically all broken, disgusting toilet and scary mold and the bunk bed feels like going to collapse anytime. NOT RECOMMEND👎

Super run down, weird atmosphere and really hot in all the common areas. Weird people hanging round at all times. On our first day we used the water machine to fill our bottles and when we returned an hour later, there was a sign on it saying ‘do not use, mosquito larvae inside’. On the second night, we returned to the hostel and there was somebody else in my bed. The woman on reception apologised and said she had double booked and I would have to share a tiny dorm bed with my girlfriend. I’d left a phone charger and a pair of shorts on the bed so it was obvious I hadn’t left. She said she wanted to see who was in that bed so she took the phone charger to see who would come and claim it. I didn’t return until later in the evening so she sold the bed to someone else??? And only after leaving have I realised she also took the shorts, which I now won’t be able to get back. Spend a couple of extra £ and go elsewhere.

very worth the price and good location. it looks very small from the outside but very spacious once you stepped into the establishment. the people there were very friendly and accommodating. it was clean, but the second floor a little reek with its dampness of the carpet. the room had the same smell issue but after turning on the ac the smell is not really distinguishable

Weird atmosphere. Staff hanging out in living room, entering rooms in the morning while people are sleeping, staff having difficulty going through life with a smile. Good water pressure and heater in showers. Nice ornamental Chinese decorations. Very affordable though.

The place is nice and quite near many tourist attractions, affordable price if you don't mind mixed dorm, they also provide female-only dorm. The only thing I can complain about is the creaky beds as they are not stable. Food wouldn't be a big problem cause you can find so so many restorans nearby and a 24-hour convenience store.

Clean, comfortable and friendly. Took a private room upstairs. Air conditioning perfect, bed comfortable, room clean, bathrooms clean. Common area spacious (though a lot of space is taken by furniture for sale). Hot and cold drinking water available free. Very central. Great advice from Katie.

One of the worst hostels I‘ve stayed at, would absolutely not stay here again. The dorm was very smelly and even upon request nobody wanted to do anything about it. There is stains and holes in the wall but no window. The beds were extremely uncomfortable, you basically lay on metal bars as the mattresses are super old and thin. All 3 of us had back pain after 3 nights here. The blankets are so short they barely covered my legs. Sometimes people working here just randomly enter the room and just stand around in your room like some NPCs. It is not social, the chill area is gross. Sometimes people sleep there at night who dont look like they belong here. Only positives: the private rooms looked ok, the showers are quite good, the location of the hostel is good.

Good budget place, but best if you get the single rooms/double rooms instead of dorms; my friends stayed at the dorms and the guys' dorms were extremely sweaty and rank-smelling. The upstairs bathrooms are not super clean, but brightly lit so they're not too bad. There are water dispensers, hairdryers ready. There is one plug for a double room so bring an extension if you need one. Walls are thin so you can hear all your neighbours' conversations.

Great location and nice clean rooms. They are shared bathrooms but they are kept clean. Also super convenient for shopping and food.

convenient location with cheap price, dorm floor and bed ok and toilet sometime a bit dirty but that can't 100% problem from host but guest. however, don't like the floor always wet and wifi a bit weak. the place also a bit old. the rest ok. what you pay what you get i think

We checkout from the room 8th of September, 2022. All the way our trip we were making videos of our journey, mistakenly we forgot to take 2 of our polythene bags during checkout from room which was coloured red and blackAndWhite consists of 8 small gift handbags for family coloured white and brown beneath the mirror table in room no 15. After checkout, noone from the housekeeping or hostel told us there was something left on room. The next day morning we suddenly remember and checked all our videos to confirm, also called the reception lady for our bags because we forgot to took that. But they are constantly denying that neither housekeeping found anything or neither they saw our bags. After checkout also, we sit almost 6 hours in the reception for our work, till that time noone informed of our left belonging. My question is if you took security deposit for your belongings than you should also atleast check once of customers belongings after checkout of the room. We are still on a hope that the owner or someone from reception will connect us , because we still believe good people exists. Rest, it's bad luck if someone dumped or anyone just took that.

The cheapest hostel you can find in Penang. For only rm 18-20 I expected nothing much. Facilities wise its ok. However, the room was decent and comfortable for a night stay or layover. Recommended for budget traveller's and single person. Will come back for a short stay.

Rundown place. Probably the worst I ever stayed. I tried hard to think of something that I liked but couldn’t. The atmosphere is just depressive. Perhaps it looks better upstairs (I wouldn’t know) but on the groundfloor it is depressive. Wifi only in the lobby. Everything is old and falling apart - or just falling, like the plaster ceiling in the bathroom corridor at midnight. Hopefully nobody got injured. My bedsheets had burnt holes in them. Paint is coming from the walls - because of mold? Strangely, the most pressing thing seemed to be to get a painting of Napoleon in the hallway. Auntie is nice. There is a water dispenser at the reception and shower had good pressure and temperature - don’t take that for granted in Malaysia.

Great location. Friendly host and a great price. Aircon in room so nice a cool during stay. Only downside was my roommate talked in his sleep but that's not the hosts fault so can't fault them. Great if you just need a bed and want to explore Penang :)

Location is a excellent place, at the town center. So suitable for all kind of ppl, for tourist and working, family style too. Price is cheaper from RM20 (mixed). Food so suitable for you to get here. You can go anywhere with very comfortable with any transport, either Grab or bus's.

Cool little hostel. I don't know if the elevator was functional, but it was cool anyway. The front desk guy was super nice and booked a bus for me to go to Cameron Highlands. They picked me up from the front door. I'd recommend, especially for the price.

The receptionist was extremely kind and helped us find a deal for our stay. The bed was really comfortable, and the hot water was hot! It may not be the most glamorous place to stay, but it’s convenient and comfortable.

Highly recommend staying here if you’re in Georgetown! Katie (the front desk working) was so much fun to be around! She really made my experience here and I hope to see her soon

The best guest house... The receptionist was complementing that the locals always expect a five star hotel service in a guest house... As far as I m concerned, the service is the best and affordable price for anyone.. I would recommend this guesthouse to my friends.

The place is dated and could be improved but 5 stars for Katie alone. Super helpful and full of suggestions for things to do. Even woke up at 5 in the morning to wait for our minivan with us and bought us snacks! She even offered to book a chiropractor for me after I'd twisted my foot! Location is pretty good and lots of street food nearby. The beds in the dorm were a bit squeaky but you're more than welcome to move the mattresses to the floor.
