I am a tourist. My bag was stolen in Din Tai Fung, which was well-known and trusted. The staff brought the basket and put it around here, so I left my bag in the basket. A man who thought he had come to eat was sitting at the next table. The man stole my bag. After eating with my children, I found out that my bag was missing and asked the staff to check the CCTV. CCTV recorded the man stealing my bag. I didn't know how and what to do, so I called my friend and she came. The staff told my friend to pay first and go to the police station. This situation was ridiculous, but I just came out because It's better to report to the police station first. I asked for the video, but Din Tai fung didn't give it to the police at the time. I never thought this would happen in Din tai fung, where believes in safety and trusts. Is there a difference between the local street restaurant and Din Tai fung’s service for customer safety? Din Tai Fung is never a safe place, so don't leave your bag in the basket even if the staff tells you to. Din Tai Fung is not responsible for anything. Keep in mind that it's a place where you don't have the common sense to pay for food to a stolen customer and go to the police station. Din Tai Fung only gave me a picture of a man who stole a bag from me.(my bag is in the black bag) ———————————————————————— I refused the food you were going to offer. But why did you write that you provided food in the comment below? If you were me, would you want to eat food at the place where your bag was stolen without any compensation? Even if your friend had to pay for the food... What would you do? I followed your instructions. Because I thought this place was safe. If you didn't think this was a safe place, you shouldn't have told me to leave my bag in the basket.

Not much to say; good service, good food. It's just a little bit expensive for this kind of food, but it's still within an acceptable range.

Ordered : * Pork chop fried rice. Pork chop was very tender and tasty, fragrant fried rice. 9/10 * Veggie wanton. Okay but not memorable 6.5/10 Love how the staffs act. Friendly, patient and polite. Mom said the wanton tastes a little undercooked. Staff immediately offered to replace with new ones. Excellent service! 11/10 for service

Menu limited choice. There are starters, rice & noodles. Tried the xiaolongbao is just soso, not as good & juicy as Dragon i. Be prepared aircon is very cold. No WiFi over here. Service is attentive. Overall satisfied.

Cozy restaurant with very good service. Famous with Xiao Long Bao. Food tatse use to be better and use to be crowded. I ordered ginseng soup noodle but the soup does not really carry ginseng tatse. Menu price is a bit higher compare to other restaurants.

The staff is friendly like usual in all branches. They explained to us that (din dai fung) which is this one is different from (din tai fung) which I usually go to, I didn’t try many dishes because they have pork, the food is different from the rest of the branches also. They have more choices in desserts and drinks, which are really good, the panda with chocolate and the sesame desserts were so delicious.

Lots of reviews have been written about this place. So therefore I shall only write on their dumpling. They are labeled simply as golden rice dumpling with pork and egg yolk. No impressive out of this world descriptive terms used here. I must say on first looks, it's impressive. Tightly packed and thick twine is used. Shape doesn't conform to my expectations so the mind is a bit at odds. As for the taste, I found it unique but delicious. It's light but there's a combination of aroma and taste combination that I can't put a finger on but it works really well. Unfortunately I expected better distribution of the fillings. A large part of both ends only had glutinous rice which was disappointing. I didn't buy dumpling to eat flavoured glutinous rice. Fortunately the centre had a generous portion of egg yolk and a large piece of pork. The pork was superbly cooked and flavored and I enjoyed them. But whether 23.80 is worth it will always be a personal decision. Personally, it's probably worth to try but not as a regular eat.

Fast efficient service by the staff. Food is tasty and comes pretty fast. Tables at the back are quieter and away from the more crowded front. Menu is limited to more fast, simple types.

Atas dim sum - wide selection with superb service at superb prices! Food is decent - exquisitely presented and textures and tastes are fair. 小笼包 are a must try, although still a little doughy for my liking. The little crabby stamps are a nice touch. Nice environment with acceptable service - speed could be a little hastier. Good tea!

Friendly staffs, great dining environment, and most importantly, foods are delicious. The prawn and egg fried rice is my personal all time favourite. Despite the covid pandemic, dining in still feel comfortable as the restaurant follow the SOP properly.

Outlet local in the basement level of Gurney Plaza. Overall, it is a nice restaurant, with sufficient lighting and simple light wood decoration. Service was alright, food arrived around 5-10 minutes after we ordered. Only tried the dishes from the set menu. Food: - Loved the shrimp fired rice. - Good xiao long bao taste with sufficient soup and thin skin. - Prawn wanton and hot and sour soup la mian could do without, as didn't particularly liked the flavours of those 2 dishes. - Salted egg custard bun filling was delicious, but the bun was really chewy and not fluffy at all though we had it when it was still hot.

Not the first time but neither the last for my young boy weaned on this Taiwanese staple of steamed Xiao Loong Bao. The noodles are sometimes al dente and soggy on other occasions. The soup has a lingering smell of frozen pork. A meal will easily set you back RM50. Avoid during CNY and MCO, the outlet has cut down staff, so lots of confusion at the disorganised counter with 3 staff trying just to pack up Foodpanda orders while neglecting the customers in the queue, including an ignorant old man acting like Scarface demanding for more free sliced ginger... typical Penang miser with zero manners. A better environment for dine-in upstairs at Canton-I.

We came here a bit late, and the restaurant ready to close order, but yet they still greet us and do us pick our menu. The food was delightful but mostly pork and we two didnt ate it. We ordered braised beef soup and ginger chicken noodle soup...

Food is good. Service is fast, and staffs are friendly. I love thé noodles and the dumpling! The fried rice is also good, but may be better if there is more wok hey. Din Tai Fung is a trustworthy place where you know the food will not be bad.

Ordered beef stew noodles, fried rice with pork chop, fried rice with pork chop and shrimp, red bean pao, shrimp wanton, and salted eggs mushrooms All the dishes were nice as usual. Nothing falls short of expectation. We would recommend the beef stew noodle and fried rice with pork chop, shrimp, and salted eggs mushrooms.

First of all, the food still tasty but compare to last few visit, definitely the quality dropped. The waitress who served us the face no smile and black face. Atmosphere cozy and relax. Price wise is on high side as is an international branded restaurant.

The shrimp fried rice and xiao long bao is a must try. Every dish feels and tastes handmade with fresh ingredients Prices are quite expensive but the quality and service are worth it.

Have a light dinner. The size of the dumplings were still on the small size compared to Taiwan and Hong Kong. But the price was cheaper too. The veggie was very good and fresh. The wine chicken was good nothing special.

The food here is not bad. The beef noodle is just not that salty but ate with the chilli, then it's okay. Love their hot & sour soup. Add vinegar inside even nicer. Their Xiao Long Pau is really delicious. Must take it while it's hot. Their custard bun, it's superb. Must take it when it's hot, too, but just be careful of the custard. Shimeji mushroom with salted egg is just nice. Not too overpowering. Just that the waiter needs to be more attentive, especially when clearing plates or baskets. The waiter tried to clear my basket with food in it and had to stop him. Overall, very good experience with great food.

I have been listening to my friends’ good reviews about Ding Tai Fung, and finally had a chance to try these. However, I think their soup dumplings and prawn fried rice are a little overrated. The dumplings weren’t hot enough and the fried rice were tasteless. But I will give other branches a try too!

Super speedy service with an effecient ordering system. Food was great tasting. Only thing that maybe could have been improved is that there are a lot of staff lurking around and can make one feel uncomfortable at times.

I think I am visiting this place wrong timing. Chicken soup will be batter if the chicken are softer, is very hard to get waiter attention while waving my hand few more times. Table service is very simple. The portion is so small. The smallest xio long pao I ever had. With this type of small portion coming with outrageous price making me for not coming back for second time. 😒

Good standard of food in a nice, clean environment. Service was pretty fast, though it was very quiet when we went. Firstly, I thought the pork xiao long bao was great - really nice flavour and went well with the accompanying sauce. The wanton soup was also really good. The wanton pastry was nice and thin, and the meat filling tasted really fresh and clean. Seasoned just right in my opinion. The fried rice was cooked well. The pork was very tender, but actually a little too soft for me. I’m sure others will like that, but I generally prefer my meat to be tender but with a little bite and texture still. It was so soft it reminded me a little of a processed meat like spam - not something I want when I’m eating a whole cut of real meat. The soft meat combined with the short grained rice made the dish quite heavy. The prawns with salted egg yolk was okay. The prawns were cooked really well, not overdone at all. However, the batter could have been more crispy. The flavour was good but the thick, soft batter made the dish as a whole too rich and stodgy. I needed to dip the prawns in the xiao long bao sauce just to get some acidity from the vinegar to help cut through the richness so I could finish the plate. The food here is quite expensive, but I do think you get a higher level of quality for your money. Whether it’s worth it or not is up to you. I will probably return at some point, but am more likely to stick to the dumplings and avoid the heavy starchier dishes like the rice and salted egg prawns.

I have tried many Din tai Fung in different countries, and their quality is always consistent and taste always good too. In this shop, I tried the crab XiaoLongBao, Fried rice, and Wanton. All is top-notch.

Frankly speaking, the taste is OK but compare the price it is beyond average. The food is still good. The siao long bao taste good and the bao skin is thin. Other food asr just so so and nothing caught my attention.

Always love a good tasty DTF in different locations and this malaysia spot nailed it. As usual, we ordered way too much, but thought we'd try the prawn salted egg dish this time (it was good, but would be better suited with a bowl of rice :) ) in addition to the usual favourites of XLB, pork chop, spicy shrimp and pork wontons, shao mai and pea spouts in garlic. Great location also to get away from the humidity and rain. And like all other DTF, great service and high level of efficiency!

Absolutely amazing noodles and dumplings. Prices are very nice and reasonable, staff was incredibly polite and helpful. Menu is quite bud and you can choose form variety of dishes. Noodles, fried rice, BEST DUMPLINGS and more. Thank you for this food experience and see you soon!

The quality of service seems to have plummeted compared to 3 years ago. It took us a while to wave and interrupt one of the waiters who would take our order. No one asked us how our food was anymore. It was a completely different experience 3 years ago. The food was good. They still make the best Xiao Long Bao. Prices are a bit higher than their competitors and the serving portions are small. The plates in my photos are small plates.

An absolute disgrace to the franchise. After waiting in line for over 10 mins, I indicated to the staff that I would be dining alone. Almost immediately, I was told by the staff that I had to wait an additional hour before I could be seated because they ran out of numbers(?). There were clearly plenty of empty tables waiting to be cleared but it wouldn't take an hour to do so. This happened on the weekend lunch hour and perhaps management would rather seat multiple patrons at one table compared to one. Even so, do consider the effects on company image and customer loyalty.

They are still the best when it comes to consistency of food quality and service. Been frequenting their outlets in KL and now Penang, standards are great. The dumplings and the noodles are still my favourite. My suggestion for improvement will be full e-menu and ordering and do away with writing down the order on paper. But apart from that, everything is good as usual.
