😠 Rude reception. Went out for half an hour and came back without an apology. Not that we expect it but have the audacity to stare at us and throw tantrum and threw us the keys as if it's our fault. Please don't stay here. Unless you wanna let your mood down for no reason. People often mention room, hotel, location, good, spacious, noisy, street, night, service, staff,

Good spacious room. Very noisy - constant traffic outside well past our bedtime and some noisy community events occurring in the park across the street. Most night until about 1am there is a motorcycle the roars up and down the street - the same one over and over. Room service cleaned our room 2 times in 17 nights. Both times we needed to track down room service and ask directly as the front desk staff were no help - most the front desk staff stare at their phones and do absolutely nothing else. Had to regularly ask for toilet paper. Good price and good location.

If I were you, I would avoid... The hotel is nicely located opposite a park but the front road is quite busy so not great for light sleepers. Also, not exactly in the heart of the town. The rooms are very nice, given the colonial style but everything is super worn, from furniture to tiles, towels & linen. I personally did not mind but if you’re into more lavish things, it’s a no go.. However, what was truly annoying is the service and overall experience. I arrived late as my visit to Georgetown was a last-minute decision, I asked whether there was a room available for two nights. The receptionist requested a passport and amount of money and that was it, I checked in. Then next day, I wake up by loud bangs on my door yelling “room service”, I opened all puzzled and was told by a different employee that it was past the check-out time so I immediately had to leave the room and pay (!). I explained that I had the room for 2 nights and that his colleague had already collected the payment upon check-in but he told me what I paid was only the city tax (what?) and I had to pay the rest, cash only of course, and was charged late check out (!). His explanation for all this mess was that the other receptionist does not speak good english. Mistakes can happen but how they’re handled is what makes a difference. As it was not the customer’s fault, we could equally assume responsibility -maybe at least waive the late check out fee as a gesture for an apology- but oh no, I was basically kicked out for a mistake that was not mine :) With that many lovely accommodation options in Georgetown, I would not be surprised if they go out of business in no time

very nice, colonial style rooms. not the most quiet and it was weird that there was no mirror in the bathroom. still great location, big rooms and well worth the price.

The location for this hotel is awesome, close to the ferry port and Esplanade Sea Wall Heritage Trail. The room is clean and big and I really like the old vintage looks furniture in the room.

Located strategically for the traveler who wants to walk around Georgetown as you can get the access to almost anywhere from the hotel. It’s also very close to the eateries around the town. The room was decent in size but still, beautifully made for a shop houses hotel. Everything else was good except for the fact that they didn’t give me the details on the room rates, service charges, and the local taxes. They didn’t have any machine to pay using your card so you’re advised to bring enough cash or prepay the room online. Also, wifi was not working during my stays here.

Terrible hotel. Expensive room with low standard services. No lift, wi fi not working, hotel looks old n wore out. Yet I was charged $150.00 sing per night. I was conned by hotel. Com that it was a 5 stars hotel. The worse hotel that I ever stay. No more hotel. Com for me.

It's ok. Location is quite convenient. The receptionist is helpful. Unfortunately the free parking is not provided, WiFi is quite slow. Mattress is old and noisy. Take along your own toothbrush and toothpaste too.

Several things about this hotel that would deter me from revisiting. 1) bed springs could obviously be felt, so sleeping was uncomfortable 2) the bed frames moved easily so we would accidentally kick our toe against the edge 3) the screws of the door stopper were exposed on the ground, and my dad accidentally stepped on it but luckily didn’t get hurt. Still a hazard. 4) no housekeeping 5) towels were very worn and had varying degrees of “blackness”

If I can give 0 stars, I would. - The first thing that made me uncomfortable was the receptionist taking a picture of my IC with his own phone claiming that the printer didn't work, also charged me RM4 for tourism fee although I am Malaysian. - The room is very moldy and full of mosquitos!!!! You will get bitten the whole night - The bed is very very bad, very noisy cannot sleep at all - Most of the light fixtures in the room don't work, so its practically all dark most of the time

Room 202 is poorly maintained. There are broken rack and the body wash is not filled up. Even the container is rusty. Such an old hotel with a very poor maintenance. Not recommended. With this price, u can get a better hotel with better amenities.

It has the best location, just across the famous landmark Padang Kota or the Esplanade, and just a walking distance to George Town's many attractions. However, the room looks so old; old furniture, fixtures that are not repaired, well, just plain old. And it is located by the main road.

Spacious & perfect location. Jerry, the receptionist, tried her best to meet my special request. A very pleasant experience.

Quite a cozy hotel for such a reasonable price...iron is in the room itself. Just a short walking distance to Padang Kota lama.. Subway and 7 eleven is just at the groundfloor. The best thing about penang today is the traffic is smoother than other normal days.

Great hotel - clean, excellent location and courteous service with a smile! The rooms are big and spacious, this place has been kept in great shape. Very close to some amazing places - cafes, restaurants, museums, buildings, etc. can't get better than this!

Interesting colonial-style hotel with nice, good designed spacious rooms. Wooden floor, tiles, a/c works perfectly fine, WiFi is there, but was really slow during our stay. Remember that area is quite noisy (the hotel is located right on the busy street, but it’s not so bad in the night), also you can sometimes hear your neighbors. There’s a 5-10 minutes walk to bunch of eateries, also there’s 24/7 working 7-eleven store on the ground floor. The staff is friendly) The only think I really didn’t like - the sheets weren’t changed after previous customers, I could easily smell the perfume from the pillow and it wasn’t a washing liquid for sure, so you better check this moment when you check in)

The venue is located in the main town making it quite easy to access to the attraction places around. Love the aesthetic appeal of the venue. But it'd be great if the soundproofing can be improved as the noises from the main street or even from the reception corner can be quite confounding.

This is a Nice Hotel, with good location, so you can go around to enjoy the trip easily. Its opposite the Green Park with the beach nearby. you could go a walk to Street Art nearby also. About the hotel room is spacious but some of these a little bit old. But totally its still good.

So disappointed with the management. Poor housekeeping, poor hygiene. No toiletries provided, bad A/C as well. Not recommended ❌ . In description, they’ve clearly mentioned that they provide free parking but NOP. NOT PROVIDED AS WELL. Not worth the price.

Stayed here for 3D2N and surprisingly it was a pleasant experience despite a few of the bad reviews given by others. My room was spacious and clean. The air conditioner worked perfectly and I personally love the huge window in my room. Their staffs are super friendly and helpful as well!

Bad place. 1 is the least Star I can give. 1. The staff is not supportive at all. 2. They may ask for money for random things anytime or throw you out. Like water bottles, tourist tax, early check-in (5 min - 15 Ringgit), late check-out (15 Ringgit post 12'o clock, even if it's just a minute) 3. The furniture is too old, and maybe break time and they will charge you for that too. 4. No lift, No luggage guy. So be ready to carry your bag on your head through the narrow staircase. 5. Location: In front of the road, so be 24 hours of horns. 6. No toiletries, so bring your stuff. 7. Don't prepay: Don't trust aggregators, not providing services as mentioned on the website, so visit before you pay. 8. The sea view: The windows are screwed permanently from the outside, so forget it.
