I had had short sightness since the age of 16. My eye sight got worse over the years. In the past few years, I also developed presbyopia. Spectacles with multi focal lens are expensive, this is especially so where my short sightness was quite bad and I had to go for the super thin lens for cosemetic reason. I decided to have lasik surgery to my eyes hopefully it would at least remove my short sightness problem. Under a recommendation from a friend, I was consulted by Dr Adrian Tey at Isec. Dr Tey explained to me that lasik surgery would not be suitable for me and suggested I should consider catarat surgery instead. Although my right eye had become a little cloudy but my left eye was clear of catarat. Dr Tey explained how a catarat surgery would benefit me and would last. A few eye tests were done at Isec and I was in the operation room the next day. People usually have one eye done at a time but as I was in Penang for travel for a few weeks, I went for both eyes at the same time. The operation was painless. I felt some pressure on my eyes during the operation but that was it. Eye masks had to be worn for the next 24 hours and then every night for the first week. I was also prescribed with a few types of eye drops which I needed to use for the first month. I was in my second week and was pleased to say that our far vision recovered about 80% and near vision 85%. I was glad I did it and should have done it earlier. I am now spectacles-less for the first time since 16 and bought myself a nice pair of sun glasses :) I would definitely recommend Dr Tey who was calm and professional which helped to put me at ease.

During the procedure with Dr Tsiang, my family experienced verbal abuse, which was extremely unprofessional. Dr Tsiang behaviour was unacceptable and upset my family. I would NOT recommend this doctor based on the BAD EXPERIENCE !

Overcharge by a bunch of overly free staffs at the front counter 7 of them all together of which only 1 was serving while other's watching and idling away. They should really reduce the front counter service as I was the only one on a Friday afternoon 2pm with no other customers at all. Only me yet the service is in Hokien, when replied in English she continues in Hokien, first the bad service then the lack of professionalism and last but not least the front counter tried to overcharge the doctor consultation around RM150 which was in the future date. Such low class type of establishment which was obviously new as can be seen the fresh renovations done. Was recommended here but it's not a professional place especially the front counter which is sorely poor and filled with expired elderlies. Did not meet the doctors as all 3 of them were not in at one single day!, just imagine the standards and professionalism at Penang....

Update after operations! I would like to update my first review as I have now had cataract surgery on both eyes. I am so happy with the result and so,so impressed with Dr Alan Ang and all the staff. They made both operations very lovely. I once again thank everyone at ISEC and highly recommend them. I had my first appointment earlier this week. Although it was busy after a public holiday I was very impressed with how efficient and organised the staff were. I had a very good first experience and recommend Dr Allan Ang. I would like to say a big thank you to Wendy too, she is the counsellor who talks you through the different options for a cataract lens. Thank you to all the ISEC staff.

I'm so very grateful for the wonderful care Dr. Tsiang has provided my son for the last 7 years. She has treated his squint since he was 2 years old and was able to preserve his depth perception. She performed my son's squint surgery, which was very successful, around 3 years ago. His vision has dramatically improved over the years under her care. I would like to leave another raving review for ISEC Penang, who has treated me very well from the moment I first stepped into the place to when I was discharged. I had another vitrectomy for floaters with Dr. Alan Ang and all I can say is that I don't think I've ever met a doctor who is more compassionate, knowledgeable, and thorough all in one package than him. He has been my trusted doctor and his calm demeanor has actually made me enjoy the procedure in the operating room, because I know it would be a safe and efficient procedure under him. I'm also equally amazed by the treatement I received from the staff and the nurses. They have been very gentle and empathetic to what I've been through, and that's also one of the main reasons why I chose to return to ISEC Penang. My grandma age 90 had did her eye cataract surgery by Dr. Tsiang. Isec specialist have very professional atmosphere, doctor was very professional and confident when performing surgery, the team always help patients to feel comfortable and calm. Happy that I chose ISEC for my cataract surgery in Dec 2021 and no regret at all of my decision. Went yesterday for my wife’s eye surgery on excess skin. Dr. Tsiang and the counsellor Wendy did a great job in explaining the details of the surgery and the recovery. It provide us a great comfort.

My dad had his cataract surgery for both eyes this year. Thanks to Dr. Alan for the detailed explanation about my dad's cataract condition and operating procedures. My dad was worried at first but anyway Dr. Alan's experience manage to give my dad confident to proceed with the surgery procedures. Another thanks to Wendy, she pointed out the purpose of each lens and point out the pros and cons of the lens. In general, they were helpful and the surgery procedure went out well. My dad is grateful and he could walk around without his glasses. Thanks again.

Very good service compare to other similar eye specialist centre. Dr Tsiang is a very knowledgeable, patience doctor and she dish out holistic and objective advice to her patient. I truly appreciate her ethic and will surely look for her service again should i need it eventually down the years 👍

Big thanks to Dr Adrian and all the friendly staff My 85 year old grandma had complicated cataract surgery on her right eye. Years ago, we went to a private hospital and the specialist said that if her wanted cataract surgery, we needed to have a cardiologist on call, because my grandma had heart problems before, so she said no! Suddenly this year my grandma said that her eyes seem to be getting worse and worse. I suddenly remembered isec,so I took her to the consultation. Afterwards, Dr Adrian gave us great confidence and said that there is no problem and can be resolved. Now my grandma has recovered. My grandma is really happy, thank you Dr Adrian

Patiently waiting for Doctor , more than 4hours. However Dr Adrian unable to give you his consultation more than 10min. He frustrated when patient not understand his doctor words or ask more. Professional fee and charges but not giving professional advice and consultation at all.

I had 2 eye surgeries with ISEC Specialist Eye Centre Penang and I must say that both the surgeries went Perfect and Smooth. I am very delighted to have the oppurtunity to express my gratitude and appreciation to Dr Alan Ang, Ms Wendy and all his staffs for deligently caring throughout my eye surgeries. I recently did my lasik surgery with Isec Penang and it has been one of the best decisions I’ve made. Everyone there treated me with care and respect. Dr.Adrian also provided all good information before/after surgery.

From my observation, I find that all the staffs of ISEC to be 1. Attentive 2. Polite 3. Alert and 4. Caring. I would recommend ISEC to anyone who wants to get their eyes checked & to do their cataract surgery. Dr. Alan Ang is the best and Wendy Tan, the counsellor is very good too. Parking? No problem. Their parking attendant is very attentive.

We went to Dr Tsiang Ung as our 3,5 y/o daughter suddenly has squint eyes a year ago. We came on Sunday to Penang, Monday met Dr Tsiang and Thursday had surgery. The day after surgery our daughter already back to normal happy kid even though her eyes still red but she felt no pain. Also the eyes are aligned perfectly. Thank you ISEC Penang for bringing such a life changing treatment to our daughter. All the staff member are also very kind, nice and thoughtful to us, especially to our kid 💜 Thank you Dr Tsiang our daughter adores you so much till she wants to be an eye doctor like you ☺️ I would recommend all parents that has similar case like mine to perform the surgery here when they’re still very young. So they won’t remember the pain.

Beware wait time of 60-90mins from appointment time only to see doctor consultation 5min. Reception says on average it’s delayed by 90mins-120mins EVERYDAY. Clearly someone is doing their job wrong in scheduling appointments. Can you imagine flights in the airport is delayed by 2hrs everyday? Fix your issue.

Did my cataract surgery with Dr Adrian. Really appreciate that he helps me to gain back my clear vision. He’s very approachable and friendly. Easy to communicate and professional too. This is a life changing experience for me. I couldn't believe I can finally have clear vision. None that I ever remembered for the past 20 years. I had a very bad eyesight, especially with my right eye which they called lazy eye. And I hv to depend on contact lenses for the past 20 years. Then I got reference from a friend and I went to check my eyes to ISEC. It's trully a blessing for me to meet dr. Adrian Tey.
