Not Recommended!!! Tourist please don’t go!!! WHY??? You will get rip off as over pricey. Not to say the environment (dirty) and the foods taste (not impressive) as I’m sure there are more better taste nasi kandar within the vicinity, but the price ridiculously over charged too much and unreasonable. I ordered 2 prawns + 1 piece chicken + 3 lady fingers and was charged at RM48. I was told each prawn RM18 so 2 prawns cost RM36!!! It’s totally absurd & expensive; unacceptable for being charged at this price. I hope this post would help those people especially tourist avoid experiencing the same thing like me.

The food is fresh as we reached there quite early for lunch. They only had a few dishes compared to others. The eatery is clean. Overall we enjoyed this simple yet addictive curries over rice.

Came here for late lunch almost 5pm. Not a lot of people at that hour as it wasn't peak time. The last time I ate at line clear was in 2015 when they were managed back then by different relatives. Not sure if they used the same recipes for their nasi kandar as the previous management. Had rice drenched with mixed gravy, fried chicken, black beef, salted egg and okra. Taste-wise it was good, couldn't say the best nasi kandar I've eaten but delicious nonetheless. Curry gravy was savoury with adequate blend of spices. Fried chicken was seasoned nicely. Black beef was good but I've tasted better. Overall it was a good plate of nasi kandar to have for late lunch. Price is slightly higher than the usual nasi kandar joints I go to in Jelutong where I reside.

Went by this line clear nasi kandar early in the morning which was 10am , there was only one person before me packing food . I decided to dine in as a heavy breakfast in the morning . ☺️ Even though I went so early they have everything prepared and ready for lunch . I bought myself a plate of rice , squid , lady’s finger and boiled egg . Not to forget requested for kuah banjir . The curries were abit sweet and not so spicy . ✅ They have a wide place for seating for customers , was empty because I went early in the morning . The total cost of the food was RM16.20 and my drink was RM3.10 . So all in RM19.30 which was affordable as I took squid and quantity was quite alot 💯 Overall , you can give it a try as one of the nasi kandar in Penang . It didn’t really met my taste expectations but might be different for different individuals . ✨

Must try n eat here . Good spot for a quick and cheap meal of Nasi Kandar. The food is arranged on plates and you then let the staff person know which ones you’d like. Line Clear Nasi Kandar is one of the most famous and legendary Nasi Kandar seller in Penang. Line Clear is located inside an alleyway/lorong Service n staff very good Food is excellent instead of restaurant n spending more $$ Served affectionately n very quick with no waiting time . Although crowded but still can get place to sit n eat relaxingly Must try all if got chance Food is hot. Cleaning of tables also quick along with fast service

Plenty of choices of 'lauk' for the Nasi Kandar. Inside area is clean. Probably difficult to park during day time. We came for dinner, no issue finding space to park. Overall, recommended 👍👍

Came on a weekday night around 8pm. Was lucky because didn’t have to queue very long. The next day, passed by the restaurant again and the line was so long (during the day around lunchtime). Ordered fried chicken, hardboiled egg and some okras. All for RM8. Overall, tastes great. Not the best I had but quite nice. Great curry and the fried chicken was freshly fried.

Good spot for a quick and cheap meal of Nasi Kandar. The food is arranged on plates and you then let the staff person know which ones you’d like. I had the chicken and beef with Okra; the sauce tasted fantastic but beef was a little overdone and chewy. Still, hard to beat for price and convenience.

This used to be THE place to eat nasi kandar in Penang. It’s wasy to miss the place if you don’t use any maps, but it’s within walking distance from the Chowrasta Market. Plenty of seating space inside, but it could be a long wait during peak periods. The gravy can be a tad salty, but all in all, it’s a good Nasi Kandar experience here.

They lost the concept of Nasi Kandar especially Penang’s Nasi Kandar. They are below the quality of a mamak eatery in KL. Curries were weak in flavours. I felt like I was eating rice drenched in a single flavoured soup.

If you want to visit here, make sure it is not during peak hours because the line is too long. During peak hours, Line Clear becomes Line Tak Clear because it is quite difficult to find a seat. A variety of menu options for nasi kandar are available. Prices depend on the food you choose. Some visitors say the food here is delicious and some say it's just ordinary. But it depends on each person's taste.

One of the famous Nasi Kandar joints to try out in Penang besides Dean Maju Jelutong and Hameediyah. Like most places in Penang, retained the old school traditional vibes. Located in an alley way, Line Clear Nasi Kandar is spacious and airy eventhough the overall hygiene and cleanliness should be improve. Slightly pricey compared to other Nasi Kandar joints.

A fine breakfast or lunch option, if you're not too fussy. Flavourful sauces/curries which make the rice and veggies a pleasure to eat. The actual proteins are not all that flavourful (we tried chicken, lamb, crab and large shrimp), so I'd suggest sticking with the cheaper ones, we had one plate of ginger chicken for 10rm, one plate with mix of lamb crab and shrimp which was 45rm. The first one is a good deal, the second isn't.

Though the chicken breast are big it is soft and tender and juicy. This takes skills. Most other shop I visited cook the meat too tough n dry.

Finally a good plate of Nasi kandar In Penang . The curry gravy , especially the ketchup ones and chicken , fish curry have been constantly delicious. Fried chicken is also good. Prawn tasted so so. Usually packed during lunch and requires a long waiting queue.

Still my favourite place to go whenever I come to Penang. Normally I been here brunch time around 11am. No need to queue and all the dishes is fresh. I still love to order big head fish. Add on with squid egg. This place also easy to parking and near with market.

Finally visited this restaurant after hearing so much about it. Place is clean and comfortable after the last renovations. Beware not to be mistaken, this place is further in the alley behind the shoplot also selling nasi kandar. There are reasonable variety of dishes and importantly they will add gravy from about 6 or more of their 'curries'. This is what gives it the taste and oomph of nasi kandar. Depending on what dishes you take, prices are reasonable. Overall a yummy experience!

Located in the middle of town so it hard to get parking. Visitor might miss out this stall as it was between two building. Long queue but no worries, no need to wait for long time as their services was fast. Got normal rice and briyani. Meet expectation of good taste of nasi kandar. Price is reasonable with the quality of food that you got. Their ayam bawang is a must try menu, so delicious. Good place to go if you craving for nasi kandar.

Used to be favourite nasi kandar spot in penang. I used claim that this is the No.1 spot serving the best Nasi Kandar in Malaysia. But I have visited twice in the last 3 months, they have definitely lost the touch. Its just not the same anymore.. hope they'll find their magic again.

It’s very rare that a mamak guy serves us with a smile so I felt compelled to leave a review. There was a decent selection of dishes but most importantly they were all flavourful and delicious. Reasonably priced in my opinion, as they’ve always been consistent with their taste and freshness. Would definitely come back 🙌

In weekend, it so crowded so i came in the next morning. You can choose what you want to eat in your dice ex.white rice or yellow rice, meat part beef or chicken or egg of fish or squid(staff is nice) and then you put your dice to your table and choose some drinks and then go to pay(it a bit expensive but i dont mind) food is delicious! I luv it but drinks is too sweet not my style. So check it out

My recent visit to this famous eatery was pleasant. The food was delicious and the teh ais was awesome!! The portion is quite large too. However the parking place is not that easy to go if you're not familiar with the area. There was a parking lot on the opposite side of the restaurant but now there is a building in construction. To go to the parking lot behind the eatery, you need to check out two entries. One from Chulia St and another from Kampong Malabar

Went over on the weekday. Shop is situated in the lane. Not to be confused with the shop by the corner which claims that they are the same. Crowd is still alot eventhough on weekdays. Taste of the food is delicious. Had mutton, egg and vege. Cleanliness has been better since the previous incident which went viral.

Price are affordable. Came early at 11:40AM. If a bit late, i have to queue a long line. Anybody wanna try nasi kandar, here recommended. Parking are really hard to find, all parking are full but if u come early and should be easy for you to get carpark. Theres a ‘cashless’ parking area around this area too.

Had briyani rice with fried chicken and scrambled eggs. Total 13.2 RM. food tasted good! Just felt the vendor is offended because we didn't order any drink..

Came here after Friday prayers. Found out there's a line already. Big serving portion for me. It's a nice nasi kandar and tea o drink.

Long queue and hot weather shouldn’t stop you from eating here at least once! The Nasi Kandar is simply delicious. The place is quite chaotic and the service not particularly attentive, but I guess it is part of the street food experience itself!

one of best place for nasi kandar in Penang. their Penang nasi kandar is something different from what you will normally get elsewhere & their multiple gravy which pours onto the plate is a must try here. overall it’s a satisfying meal with the outdoor seating & affordable price.

Came here on a Sunday evening and there was no queue. Portions are large and priced are inexpensive. Pick and choose your protein (chicken cooked 4 different ways, eggs, mutton, or fish), they also have okra and cabbage. Delicious and quick service. All the staff were very kind.

Came back 8 year hiatus. Still good as far as I can remember. Quick service by staffs, price is still ok, nothing that's too exorbitant. Well ventilated area, despite operating in alley between shop lots. When you park at the roadside parking, don't forget to pay the parking fees via the municipal's app, about MYR0.80/hr which should be enough.

  • 3/5 SEB W. 11 months ago on Google
Nothing special a few mix of curries. charged 17MYR for a portion of three curries, rice and half a salted egg. The staff are very in your face and are not willing to tell you how much a portion of curry will cost until you get to the till. So likely to make it up. Fruit juice out of a carton is 5MYR. We later walked past the ‘oldest nasi kandar’ in Georgetown, which is only around the corner. Their food looked much fresher. It was rammed with locals and tourists, I will go their instead next time.

Went there last night around 830 to have a heavy dinner with my father. As a pure warga penang, he said the food there was A+ in terms of its taste. I couldnt agree more with him. The parking was spacious, making the mission to eat nasi kandar easier. We had to pay around RM3 for the parking. In terms of its price, i think it was reasonable and the price is standardised, they even had a banner showing the price of each food. The atmosphere was just nice. I think the place had become cleaner since the last time i came here. Ayam madu there was really good. It really complements the taste of the curry spices perfectly. My father recommended me to get kuah kari sotong next time because to him, that was the cream of the crop. They had lots of hotels in front and many marts were within walking distance so to me, it was nice.

Food is good. Looks clean. Parking: front no parking. Will get summon. At the back only has an open car part. Food: try the fish head , mutton and fried chicken. They are great. If you want faster service, order the fish head and the you can cut queue on your order. Overall good service

Yum :-) Don’t accidentally miss this place abs go to the one on the road…the Line is in the alley so make sure you go here! It doesn’t look like much and might even put some people off because it doesn’t have a fancy appearance but man the flavors are there. We got a simple Nasi Kandar with mixed sauce & sambal for 6.40RM. We were luck to arrive just as a fresh batch of chicken was being pulled out so our meal was super fresh, chicken was still crispy and no line! Can’t say much more other than try it yourself for you are in the area. We were a fully going to Pelita Nasi Kandar but this place was closer and ultimately just as good. I’m sure you will enjoy.

Came here for breakfast and not much ppl here. I love egg and chicken so yeah i give u 8/10 for the food. For the cleanliness it's 7/10 sorry. Don't worry it's halal. How to order? First come to the stall and ask for your order they give ur food directly. Then wait at your table for ur drink, then they give u a mini paper which is ur bill, after eat pay ur bill at the cashier, note that it is before tax so the after price is different from the bill.

In my humble opinion, the nasi kandar flavour is no longer as bold as before. Gravy was not as thick and felt less kick. However, the curry chicken and beef was still tender.. the teh ais was well made, not too sweet with good ratio between milk and tea.

The best nasi kandar ever!!!😋😋 However, the line is not actually clear despite the name. It's totally worth it, though.

👍 Queue seemed quite long when we arrived around 2.30 pm but we only waited about 20 minutes. I think they should have more signage to tell customers what to do so the process can be easier. There was only one waiter upstairs in the seating area so it was quite difficult to get his attention. Food is...
