Was looking forward to the buffet as I read good reviews about the food especially the duck, lamb and char koay teow. Unfortunately it was a total let down for us. The meat duck, lamb leg, grilled salmon were tough and dry. The chicken roulade is tasteless. The fresh seafood lobsters, prawns were not fresh, the prawns smelled bad, I was worried of food poisoning. The sushi was horrible, it has terrible smell in the rice. The foods are either tasteless, not fresh, tough or dry. The char koay teow was overly oily and tasteless. The handful of dishes that are edible were the satay, salad, biryani rice, mutton curry, steam fish though it’s dry but tasty, and crab curry. The coconut ice cream is good. For RM170/pax, I am sure there are better quality buffets out there. It’s a big NO NO for us to come back here again for buffet unless they seriously change their food quality.

Food is yummy, no of varieties Choosy to picky also join the buffet. I love the water , vanilla ice cream and , can choose from WOK item to BBQ. No. Of variety's on 🍣 Sushi. No variety on Juice. I like spicy Wasabi, Olives, 🍍 pineapple. Fish Head curry is also available.

We had buffet dinner here on a last minute decision.... the reservation staff is kind enough to find us a table despite 2 company function is being held there that night. The food variety is aplenty and is above average but the king crab that was offered for Seafood galore night is way too salty.. what ashame cos the king crab was the deciding factor for us to dine there. The staffs are all very attentive. Besides our buffet dinner, we had our breakfast there as well... we choose to sit outside for a change and indeed was a nice place to have breakfast surrounded by plants n trees. No mosquitoes or insect spotted.

Mediocre. Most Penangnites say this is the best buffet in the town, if that's true, then that's pretty sad. I've personally eaten at this place for more than 5x over the past few years, but after trying out buffets in other countries, I realise that it's no longer that impressive at all. I'll start with the good ones. Sashimi was very fresh. Satay, pipa duck, grilled salmon, char keow teow, and pasta were decent. Now the bad ones... Cold served seafood (probably the most costly items), pretty much everything at that section was tasteless. The texture felt fresh, but somehow didn't taste sweet or salty at all, in a bad way. It's just disappointing. Mushroom soup was too runny, felt like it was from the can. Desserts were okay overall. Brownies tasted the best among all others. The choice of selection seem to have lessen compared to before. Haagen Daaz ice cream was no longer served, now replaced with very mediocre tasting ice cream. Service was just okay. Not something to expect from a 5 stars hotel. The salmon salad was never refilled even though I feedback about it from the start and the staffs were too busy just moving around. Looked like they were short of workers. Ambience was just poor... too crowded and no noise control. There was a group of diners shouting and partying as though they were in a disco club. I could tolerate with the noise, but just saying that the staffs have no regard for the atmosphere of the place. Will I return? A definite NO. It's just not worth the money. I'd better spend this amount of money dining at several quality restaurants plus they won't even cost as much. If you have tasted quality buffet in other countries before, trust me, this will feel like just a random meal with zero wow factor.

We came here for the buffet dinner with a large group consists of babies, adults, and senior citizens. The venue is quite large with the number of seats and all the food spreading far apart. It does become noisy overtime and there are large varieties of seafoods so this is not a place for people who prefer a quiet dinner or dislike/are allergic to seafood. I would say the overall food quality is good but certainly not perfect which is good because there is room for improvement. The buffet dinner prices here are very expensive(the most expensive I have seen in any buffet in Penang) but the experience is worth it especially if it is your first time. Buffet Dinner Price Summary(2023): RM168/adult RM98/senior citizen FOC/kids at a certain age The service was acceptable and our empty plates were clearly at a reasonable pace despite the large number of customers. With all that has been said, this place is more suitable to come during a special occasion as opposed to on a regular basis.

I love food and although its unhealthy I love abundance of food. So, I had to try the buffet dinner while we stayed at E&O. The selection of fresh oysters, crabs, crayfish, and other seafood took me on a crazy ride. I enjoyed almost every dish they had. And I must thank the staff for their attention to us.

One of the best and most popular buffet in Penang. You will get a wide variety of food selections from Japanese sushi, to Western food and local desights Biryani, curry fish head and Penang famous Char Kuey Teow. They have special rate for senior citizen and kid eats free. Highly recommended. Go before sunset for beautiful sea view.

This is one of the most popular buffets in Penang especially for senior citizens since they pay only about half the normal price. The restaurant has such a wide range to choose from - salads, meats, sushi, local delights, desserts. What would I recommend from the huge variety to choose from? Definitely their roast duck is number one. It is so succulent. Very surprisingly, char kuey teow ranks very high. It is really so delicious. Then, make a beeline for the fish head curry. Superb but better to share because it's so big. BBQ mutton, beef and grilled fish is also popular. There are Asian dishes of curry, vegetables, etc with rice available, too. The briyani rice is excellent. There is quite a variety of desserts of pastries and sweets to choose. They have the local favourites of cendol and ais kacang. Just fantastic.

So disappointed to E&O Sakies buffet. The sashimi quality was so poor, even the bay lobster tastes not fresh and not delicious at all. The fried mini crab was too salty. The marinated beef and lamb legs too chewy and tasteless. I tried the tiramisu cake and coconut tarts, cake tastes cheap and not good, coconut tarts not recommended too. Ice cream tastes cheaply. The cakes and pies above the fridge were not delicious too. Recommend for their curry fish head, grilled salmon and grilled sea bass. Grilled beef was juicy and nice, satay was nice as well. Purple rice porridge tastes good. Mushroom soup was quite okay. Won’t visit again, the money we gave was not worth for the foods.

The foods were delicious and well cooked. But the sate, for me, a bit liat and hard to chew. Other than that, all the foods are so yummy. I enjoyed each of the foods. The service also not bad. Waited for 30 mins for all the meals to ready. Worth to try!

Best of the best buffet restaurant in Penang. Outstanding food, desserts and drinks. I understand that they cannot do the usual buffet style after the MCO, but before MCO, they had a wider spread of dishes, BBQ's and desserts. Now, they try to get away with only 5 choices (very bad choices) of desserts, for example just because people order instead of patroning the buffet line. It is not worth the price you paid for. Furthermore, the table they gave for 2 persons were very small, it barely fits anything. And I som etimes didn't get what I ordered, like, I never got my chicken rice that night. I suggest that you guys who plan to come here for their buffet go somewhere else cheaper.

  • 3/5 Lian K. 3 years ago on Google
Very well organized for the Covid 19 pandemic condition. Instead of buffet, you were actually served. So you sit down, a menu is prepared and you order whatever you want and it's brought to you. The waiters were certainly very sincere to fulfill your orders 👍👍. Foodwise however were ok, not great, I was struggling with the roast beef, roast lamb was better 😇😇

Nasi Kandar, one of malaysian favourite. No doubt about it. Ordered Nasi Kandar Ikan Goreng, the fish freshly cooked and nice seasoning. Here the curry taste is good, little bit spicy, really love it. Vegetable its like normal. Another you must order carrot susu, its sweet and tasty. Recommended to try 👍👍👍👍👍

The service was good, the staffs are really engaging compared to the other Pelita outlets. Ordered two pieces of Roti Canai, somehow the portion is smaller than other Pelita outlets I have been to. The place is quite small but is kind of open and has good air flow. The restaurant is located at the corner, very limited parking and the road has some very terrible traffic & vehicle movements.

As always.. superb. Nasi kandar with kuah campur, fried chicken, kobis and boiled egg. Once tasted, can't resist later. Recommended for all. Try it, at least once. Ohya, make sure to go during day time/lunch as everything will be fresh from cauldron.

Probably one of the best and authentic nasi kandar out there. This is the first foundation of Pelita chain of restaurants. The taste never changes. Most of the time the restaurant is packed with customers and also in long queue waiting for their turn to choose the foods. Recommended to try the 12am (early morning) nasi Dalcha. Oddly enough, the Nasi Dalcha is only cooked and available at 12am. One have to wait for the dish to be ready and its one of the hot selling food there and also the fast to finish.

Sarkies at E & O Hotel has been a popular buffet choice for company team building and event celebrations for many years. Try to book around a month in advance if you would like to have your team building here. I came here early August for a small team gathering. The food selection, taste and quality are still good like pre-covid times. Sashimi is pretty fresh, and I enjoy their mussels and prawns. There is a wide range of meat and hot food selection. There is also made-to-order food like Char Koay Teow and Noodle Soup. One thing though, the sushi is rather lackluster and hope they can improve on that.

Definitely one of the best buffet spread in Penang. They had everything! The seafoods was a hit or miss honestly, there were good ones and also less fresh ones. I also had their famous CKT which to me were a bit underwhelming but still a good standard CKT. Overall, for the price we paid this was definitely worth it and I would definitely recommend and visit again.

Went here for Deepavali Lunch buffet with family members. We were around 10 pax in total. This place offers parking at your own cost. Overall experience here is downhearted because we do love desserts wherever we go for buffet. But by the time of 1.15pm they had varnished about 60℅ of their dessert choices. The staff that handled dessert station refused to fill up the dessert as she said they had no more stock for the desserts. So i felt highly regret choosing this place for the buffet. Not worth it for what we have paid for 10 pax and got very limited desserts to eat. Hope you guys can get fixed this as we didn't walk in for the buffet, we made booking 2-3 weeks in advance for a family day out. Cappuccino was exquisite.
