Restoran Tajuddin Hussain, Nasi Kandar

Restaurant Indian restaurant Indian muslim restaurant

👍 First time trying food at Tajuddin after hearing a lot of feedbacks on it . It’s located right next to Sultania and since it’s Ramadan month they have displayed their food in big pots outside their shop itself which makes it easy for people to take away . You can still dine in as they have sittings... People often mention chicken, curry, nasi, taste, ayam, time, nice, good, restaurant, kandar,

First time trying food at Tajuddin after hearing a lot of feedbacks on it . It’s located right next to Sultania and since it’s Ramadan month they have displayed their food in big pots outside their shop itself which makes it easy for people to take away . You can still dine in as they have sittings inside . ☺️ I ordered half plate Briyani with their onion chicken paired with flavourful Dalcha . Their service is fast as they come to take your order once you are sitted and served shortly . ✅ The chicken was huge , juicy and tasty . Personally , I really liked the taste of their onion chicken . Their dalcha was nice and had a very homemade taste . Their Briyani was soft and fresh . At whole , the meal was really worth it 👍🏻 I also packed back a full plate Briyani with mutton Kurma which was nice also . All in the total cost was RM26.30 , which I would consider cheap for the portion of food and compared to other places 💰

Excellent as before. Fast service and good services. Good taste. Crowded places. Fresh fried chicken, rose chicken as main dishes and lot more. Had to get parking during weekend and peak hours

The roast chicken was delicious, as was the roti bom - roti covered in condensed milk! Very fast service and nice lemon drink too

Strategically located opposite the Mahamariamman temple and was too tempted not to miss since I’ve heard so much about it. I think I’ve had too much expectation of this place. Coming for the first time, the waiters are rude and constantly in a hurry and toilets is atrocious. The food itself I thought was nothing to shout about. Fried chicken was cold and dry. The curries are good but nothing I can’t get in KL or any Indian restaurant. The display of the food is very tempting though. Also you need to know how to order your food, so don’t just sit straight if you are dining in. You need to know what you want as soon as you sit. The type of chicken, curry or vegetables. Overall a 5/10.

A hidden nasi kandar gem in Penang. Hard to reach, honestly wont advise driving there unless you are locals. Walking is better. The food in my brief assessment is uncompromising and with attitude. They are not swayed by out of towners' taste buds and preference. Authentic old school curries , roti & tea. Very rich and prominent taste of spices. Spicy and uniquely Penang. I highly recommend this eatery.

Was looking to enjoy our lunch here but sadly we were quite disappointed with the overall taste of it. Nasi briyani was under seasoned and the ayam ros meat had some peculiar, undercook taste 🥲 ginger tea was acceptable but sadly to say everything wasn’t up to expectation

Was expecting some biryani but they were out of it sadly. Had the lamb and fried chicken instead. The lamb was good, very fragrant curry. Sadly (x2), their fried chicken was pretty bad. It wasn't crispy and the flavour just wasn't there. Rice with the curry they gave was satisfying though. Would've been good if the fried chicken was more fresh :(

Almost all the time there will be a queue but no worries they have staff that can do super fast job to supply the food. Recommended to make take away as the restaurant is quite small and with social distance it look a bit more compact. The food is marvelous as the gravy is thick and tasty compare to other Nasi kandar restaurant. The briyani is divine as the rice and gravy is moist enough and good. Thwy have variety of dishes like quails, duck, pigeon also. The price is reasonable as it's quite standard and consider for the food quality, its worth it.

Their nasi biryani with ayam ros was a perfect combo. That was my first time trying ayam ros so I don't have any place for comparison but I'm pretty sure their ayam ros is one of the best in Penang (or perhaps Malaysia 🤔). Also don't forget to eat alongside with their dalca, sambar, and drink their rassam afterwards. Such an amazing dining experience for me! P.S. You don't need to stand in queues unless you're going for takeout

Serves one of the best nasi kandar , the elder brother Deen Maju's . I rate this eatery better than Deen. Prices is reasonable . Try it out

This place was recommended by the local there. The chapati is soft and chewy. The curry is nice. I think their ros chicken is famous but didn’t get to try it because I’m too full 😂 maybe will come back here again to try out the other foods.

Great food. A lot of rare dishes that u cannot find in other nasi kandar restaurant such as goose, duck, blue chicken etc. The table and floor can actually be better (cleaner). I hope this can seriously be considered by the owner.

[RM 20/pax] 2022-07-12 Tue Good food and atmosphere, ayam ros was a hit. Kambing was nice but not hot when I ordered it. Will get nasi putih next time. The ikan in the ikan gulai was impossibly soft. Very very good. Get the fish. Teh tahrik was fantastic but the teh halia ais was way too sweet. Maybe stick to the teh tarik.

The food is good. The nasi bryani is nice with mutton rose curry. But the famous chicken rose is so so only. The envorement wise not so clean and drink wise advice to take the bottel drinks due to hygen.

[ok la] 1) overall - ok environment, hygiene could be improved, limited parking for Tajuddin Hussain Nasi Kandar 2) curry tasted average, nothing coming out from the curry. 3) nasi tomato tasted alright, a little too dry for my liking 4) fried chicken was okay only

This place was highly recommended by a friend who is a Penang local. While the service was immaculate, the food sadly, was a letdown. We had the lamb shank and two types of chicken. It did not live up to the hype. The lamb shank can be best described as 5/10 while the chicken was 3/10. Both the white rice and biryani rice were solid so that's smth to enjoy at least.

Sadly I had a bad with this restaurant. I ordered fried chicken and it was completely cold (also my bad that I just came 15 minutes before closing time). The waiter who speaks English was pretty nice, but there was another one the whole time looking at us and talking about us, also laughing. That made us feel a little bit uncomfortable, and when he brought the bill he just threw it at the table and said nothing. The capati was tasty and the atmosphere nice, with local people.

Took capati with ayam ros, but really disappointed with their ayam ros that smells like rotten. The food presentation also look so poor that everything exposed without a proper keep.

Still the best briyani after all these years! They have maintained the same taste, texture of rice as well as the curry, dhal and other side dishes. The cleanliness (lack of) could be turn off for some, but still 5 stars for the food.

Old school style nasi kandar. Must try ayam Ros the signature dish here. Rice, chicken and gravy served in different plate. Add on rassem for extra kick, beware quite spicy

Amazing briyani! Service was quick too. Pocket friendly. The ayam bawang is a winner for sure!

The dhal gravy is superbbbbb.. but don't expect to eat beef here because this restaurant is in front of the hindu temple. We need to respect other as well. Other than rice, capati also 'sedap'.

I ate nasi biryani with ayam rose. Came at lunch hour so it's a bit packed with locals. The biryani was nice but the ayam rose was a bit tasteless to me. The curry also not bad. Overall it is good. Would like to repeat again for their nasi tomato

Most of the dishes served to tables by plating portions, with separate rice, not completely the same experience as other nasi kandar places. Ayam ros is a must try, and with the rassam provided at each table also served as an additional experience (also a must try). Reasonable prices. Although parking is quite difficult to get in the Little India area, but overall is a good experience for my side. Recommended to come and try if you are in Little India area, together with other nearby infamous nasi kandar places surrounding the area.

😠 I reached at around 2:30pm and still need to queue till 3:00 pm. Disappointed with the food because the deep fried fish roe and fish are hard rather than crispy. The gravy is also so so only.

👍 Queue seemed quite long when we arrived around 2.30 pm but we only waited about 20 minutes. I think they should have more signage to tell customers what to do so the process can be easier. There was only one waiter upstairs in the seating area so it was quite difficult to get his attention. Food is...
