We came across this restaurant while looking for a place to have lunch in the Pulau Tikus area. They serve local Malaysian Chinese cuisine. It was really good. We finished all the food. Highly recommended!

This place doesn’t even deserve a star.. staffs are rude, calling customers “oi”. ordered fried fish bee hoon and was served 2 out of 4 pieces of bone.. when we feedback to them, they said they serve a mixture of bones and meat, so it’s too bad I got served 50/50. The shocking thing is the “boss” who came out to explain that they serve bones to customers too, so if u receive it out of luck then it’s “too bad it’s random”. Quoting his exact words.. not my first time getting served bones though. Evrytime it’s 1/4 piece bone, today, 50/50 bones.. maybe jus my poor luck or do you think bones shouldn’t be served to customers. Thank you Mr Heng for your awesome service. I think any customer deserve better. “ If u can’t afford don’t eat was his reply”. Come only if you all can afford yea..

From service to food all were excellent. Their seafood based ingredients were fresh. Fry fuzuk and the stuffed tofu were crispy and nice. Their prawn and squid ball were tender. Their broth was really nice and not thirsty after drinking so I guess there's not much MSG added, you can taste the sweetness of seafood after combination will all those ingredients. Price were slightly higher than normal steamboat restaurants but definitely worthit. Their prawn wedges and stuffed prawn is nice as well. Highly recommended for family dinner. Fast serving and really good service from the waiter.

One of the top steamboat place u cn find in Penang island, the fish claypot soup is nice and sweet, need to give around 10-15 mins for the taste fruition, love the soup, fried fu chok was nice. The fish meat is fresh and nice. Try the poh piah but taste average. Ambience okay, big space, suitable dining for big groups. Parking outside also gt space. Dont need to worry.

The last time I had Sawara, was pre-COVID and I must say that I prefer the old setting. With the new renovation (they did close down one branch at Bayan Baru) of the PTikus main branch, thing just got more expensive, the pork balls were steam cooked and hard, and the portion of ingredients were almost half of what we used to be served. But the new environment has its plus, dining in airconditioned is less sweaty, but thats all you got. Honestly, I would not go back as frequent as I would want to. I still prefer the old Sawara, or more like Yeam Fa at Jelutung.

Soup base taste is good 👍🏻 but 2 stars for the Chinese counter guy (I think he’s the owner) he’s very rude and and always see him shouting and smoking outside

Simple plain delicious. Don't expect something bombastic, it is simple fish soup claypot steamboat with all fresh food. Only homemade fishball, no frozen food. Do try their fried fishcake and Sawara Roll shown below. Definitely coming back again. Cooked food are available too like fried noodles and fried rice.

I would like to give a compliment to the foreign worker waiter who served our dinner. He was extremely helpful and made the whole dining experience great. I can say he provided a 5 stars service to us. The seafood was fresh, soup was good as expected.

Good quality fish balls made from Spanish mackerel (sawara). Had the hotpot for 4 persons with multiple ingredients. Only gripe is the pricey bill that came up to be RM270+ with drinks (Chinese tea and chrysanthemum tea).

Consider one of the oldest steam boat restaurant in Penang. Using fish soup as steam soup, super delicious. All the foods are fresh and delicious. Price in the premium side.

The pork rice and seafood noodles soup are delicious. But unfortunately the squid ball are too salty, event they change the new one but still the same. Home made chilli sauce are good. The soya milk not bad.

😠 I reached at around 2:30pm and still need to queue till 3:00 pm. Disappointed with the food because the deep fried fish roe and fish are hard rather than crispy. The gravy is also so so only.

👍 Queue seemed quite long when we arrived around 2.30 pm but we only waited about 20 minutes. I think they should have more signage to tell customers what to do so the process can be easier. There was only one waiter upstairs in the seating area so it was quite difficult to get his attention. Food is...
