Very bad service when enter into this lousy shop. Problem is not the Price of one slide of cake cost RM44++. Is the terrible service attitude. We are in the group of 8 people. We are not allowed to proceed into this shop without minimum order. This we already aware and we are ready for this. After order, we proceed to our seat. We request for join table or customize seat. One of the staff, very impassioned to serve us and the attitude is very bad. Totally not friendly at all. I can clearly heard his mumble in Mandarin: “那么麻烦”. OMG...What is this?.. why pay his salary..who give him career to earn a living?... Seriously this kind of service is totally not acceptable. I will never ever come to this place myself. Never recommend to this place. Of cause if you want to experience RM44++ per slice.

Saw some youngsters tapau from this hidden shop and it piqued our interest to try it out. Service good and staff friendly. Cakes are out of this world - amazing bold flavors. We had salted egg cheesecake and cempedak. We thought we could finish one slice each but this is definitely meant for sharing. Can feel good quality ingredients used for the cakes and they're so rich with cheese. Yummy but now I need to tapau the rest to my hotel. Yes they are pricey but it's for the portion and ingredients I think it's worth it.

Visited this place to try their highly recommended durian cakes. Not easy to find as the facade of the old shop is mostly hidden behind overgrown plants and there’s a small signage. It’s dark inside and other than the cake display counter right at the entrance, the shop is filled with potted plants big and small. The customer seating area is very limited and is located at the next shop. So you need to place your orders for the cake before they show you your seat. When I saw the price of the cake i was shocked as every piece was Rm46 ! Although each slice is one large chunk but still it cost as much as 3 large plates of ckt with large prawns ! But nonetheless we ordered the durian cake, cempedak & chocolate cake to try. It was very heavy and taste was very strong. The chocolate cake was very rich. None of us finish the cake. As I’m not a cake person, I find it overwhelming & expensive. Perhaps a cake person may appreciate more.

Very pricy and overpriced cake per slice 5 person minimun order must 3 items. Funny So we forced to order one hot green tea to fulfil it. We order 2 cakes already Killing us The cake very nice, smooth and thick. Most importantly is big portion One slice of cake cost rm46 at least depends on flavour. But super big. Even a couple to finish a slice is very difficult. Very creamy and delicious Can't find in other cafe. Worth the price if 3-4 people sharing 1 slice. They only accept cash. Too bad. And the service a bit sucks. 3 men work on the shop and serve you but limited helper, serving will be slow if the cafe is packed. Worth to try But not seldom. Stressed = Desserts. 😂

Great place and delicious cake. Although I believed that they should allow more different forms of payment such as QR or Debit/Credit (it was either cash or bank transfer). Service could be better.

Sour staff and costly cakes with a touch of decadence make this moody joint more of a plant hobby shop. If patrons have doubts about the intentions of your store, you might be sending the wrong signals. Don't get me wrong - I thoroughly enjoyed the lush greenery and carnivorous collection, but the cakes are oversized and they enforce a one piece per two pax. Staff are at best nonchalant and largely uninterested. We came around 10pm and the place we empty, with the vibe of us ruining the chances of them closing shop early. Cakes were richly tasty, at around 40-50 a slice. Back in our day we could probably get a whole cake for that price. Anyway, best of luck Moody guys, I suppose you live up to your name!

Recommend by my Penang friend must eat cake. Its a small cafe that covered by full of green plants, cactus and succulent plants. The atmosphere here can feel the relax and joyful artistic conception. Suitable to bring your girlfriend here. I do saw some people comment the staff quite rude to them, and it's true. Most of them look and talk like gangster, some of them also have tattoos. And if you think too long or make them wait, they will a bit irritable. But for me if the food is great, I don't care the price or service. All the cake here sells RM4x for each slices. I heard some customer ask what if buy a whole cake. The staff said 3 or 5 kg for whole cake. Quite shock when I heard that portion and price. But when closely each slice also quite big that can afford 2 people to eat. But I prefer 4 people to eat one slice, since all the cake flavor here is extremely!!! rich until greasy that you can't take your meal later. We bought 2 slices for 4 people and we threw quarter of it (wasted quarter also cost RM30). Sorry that our hotel don't have fridge around. They do sell coffee too, but only the normal type of coffee we known like Americano, Latte, Capuccino those. Although its taste really not bad but because of the richness, I quite hard to accept and buy again (a bit scare). It won't expensive if 4 people share 1 slices, each people only pay RM1x. Feel free or curios can go and try. Their signature is Cempedak Cheese and Salted Egg Cheese flavor cake and please be careful weekend night is always full since there not much of seats also.

Insanely huge slices of cempedak/durian cheesecakes. We (group of 5) couldn’t finish both slices of cake and had to tapao back. They also have many other flavours as well and they all look interesting so I think it’ll be worth the try! Not sure about the other flavours- but the price for the durian cheesecake is RM46 while the cempedak cheesecake is RM44. Pretty pricey for single slices of cake but I think it’s quite justifiable considering the portion and the flavour. I personally appreciate the ambience and effort put to decorating the cafe (albeit slightly cramped) with huge terrariums of succulents and plants. But where we were seated, it is a little dark and may not be for everyone. I will come back again to try the other flavours.

    - Definitely one of the more unique café I have been in. Feels more like a green house rather than a café. Almost missed the entrance because it was covered with vegetations. - The dining area is too dark for me - The cake is sold by slice. Big slice but the price reflects that (Relatively expensive for what you get) - The cake itself is alright. Ordered the chocolate madness and it was decent. - I do not like the coffee. It’s light but sour and has a certain smell to it. Almost like it was not roasted properly - I guess it’s a café that caters to a niche market

Holy cow! The smallest portion of cake can feed 3 person. I ordered the Musang King durian cake, it is rich. Taste and texture are alright. Not recommended to visit alone, unless you haven't eaten for 3 days. Interesting dark ambient like dining with vampire, in a chill manner. Using glasses instead of the paper cups could be greener for the environment, since this cafe has a green theme with a lots of nice succulent plants.

This is some of the BEST cake I have ever had!!!!! I love cake and Moody Cow offers so many different cake options including some with alcohol! It is a bit more expensive then normal but the cake pieces are large and can be shared between 2 to 4 people. I tried 3 cakes when I was there and all of them were so delicious. If you are a cake lover like myself, then it is worth trying their cakes. I will for sure go back when I visit Penang again!

The environment is comfortable. The cake is good. Tried the cempedak cake and its good! However in my opinion, its overpriced. And three person need to order at least two items. No parking infront of shop.

Read the reviews and so I expected the service to be rude. But it turns out they were pretty nice to us when we visited. Had the durian cake and opted to takeaway the cempedak cheesecake. The durian cake was nice and very durian-y, like you could taste the durian in the cake. The ambience was pretty nice, too. Loved the deco - it wasn’t conventional but it was enough to make you admire the insides. Went home and tried the cempedak cheesecake. IMO it tasted so much better than the durian cake! Both cakes are nice and rich but the cempedak cake was less rich and therefore tastes nicer (in my opinion). Definitely worth your money but please don’t expect this to be an after meal thing because the cake is pretty filling.

When a cake is 3x of market price, I expect it to be at least good. But to my surprise, it was pretty bad. Based on the number of review, I began to think if I was being too fussy. And harsh.. At my age, every bites comes with a price. I want to make sure every bites is worthy. My family and I have been trying hard to convince ourselves to finish it because it was pricey, but we failed. After all, we paid the price but we were glad to waste food this time, because it really not worth it. Finally I found terrible food - cake and coffee in Penang....

A must go place just to enjoy the ambiance and decor. The interior is full of succulents and old style furnishings with paintings on the walls arranged to look like a Victorian era lounge. The cakes are very rich. So thick and creamy I recommend you share with a friend or risk getting nauseous from the sheer richness of flavor. The variety of cakes includes mostly uncommon flavors including local fruits and desserts in the form of cakes.

At first i was skeptical to try this place due to the price (RM46-RM48 on average for a slice of cake). All cakes served are cheesecakes. My friends decided to treat me for my birthday so here we are. There is a minimum order of 2 items for 3 people. We got a lychee passion cheesecake (RM46) and a hot peach tea (can refill hot water). We are pleasantly surprised by the taste (rich, refreshing and actually good). The slice is expensive because it is meant to be shared among 2-3 people, if not too jilak. The tea helps with overcoming the jilak. We didn't encounter any rudeness from the staff on our visit. The interior is darker and the vibe is more antique kinda feel.

A fancy cafe to hang out with friend and family. Their cakes are solid and definitely worth it. Ordered 2 cakes for three person, and it's very full. The environment is super amazing for me, especially with those plants (not sure for display or for sale 😆)

This place is so nice tat the moment you enter you are impress with alm the plant. I cant even take my eyes of the plant and forgotten my actual purpose was to have the famous cempedak cheese cake. I like it the entrance is purely to display plant while the other side of the shop is for dining. Entrance path and dining path play song with different vibe. Thumbs up for this idea. Cake is not cheap but i will come back again for the cake taste and ambience.

    1) Food ; if you compare against other countries (international yardstick of measure such as the US, France, Australia, Japan), the size and ingredients (sugar, cream, alcohol) are VERY generous. Slices average about 50MYR and it should be shared between folks. While it is very rich and sweet, it is what defines cheesecake. There is no "healthy" cheesecake. Cakes are cakes. 2) Service: polite and helpful when asked 3)Ambience; appeals to females ...chandelier and lush sofas etc I would say, this is one shop tt defines passion. The boss must really really love cheesecake to come up with such a wide variety. If only i can stomach more in my short 3 days stay.....

Ordered the yummy cheesecakes from Singapore for our apartment birthday party in Penang and the customer service and attention to detail was tip top! All my questions were answered promptly and patiently. The delivery coordination was impeccable. Thank you for a memorable birthday celebration! 🎂

the cakes while pricey, are quite big with lots of ingredients. the place is relaxing and very pretty for taking photos in. a good place to rest and waste time if your partner loves taking photos. the store also has a attractive number of aquariums and terrariums that will almost make u mistake its a plant store. definitely a plus for nature/terrarium lovers.

It was a hidden gem in the buzzing city of Georgetown. The shop was hidden with bushes and flora to give a private moments for customers. The cake was equivalent to the taste of the cakes, even though it was expensive but the flavour was so rich that I can't even finished one slice of the cakes. There are fruit cakes and cakes with alcohol inside. I always love to eat their Chempedak cake because of the flavour of sweetness rich of Chempedak, and also the smell of the cakes that made me mouth watering.

🫤 Overrated. Tried pork leg rice, Penang loh mee and Penang style CCF, all were subpar. Pork leg rice - Quite bland. The egg used was not even a proper lu-dan (soy egg), just a plain hard boiled egg. They did not even serve it with salted vege. Not good and not authentic. Penang loh mee - I'm a...
