My overall impression of this place is that the cafe was quite busy and full of customers, yet comfortable. There were only 2 staffs working on the day I came, so sometimes we had to wait a bit long for the food, but their service was good and they tried to serve us as quickly as possible. The menu covers not only western food but also chinese food. The dishes and drinks were tasty and came in big portions. We also tried the Pork Pie, and we think the pies are must-try if you come here 😆. My advice is if you wanna come here for dinner, should come before 7pm. After this time, it gets very crowded.

First of all, the price over taste and portion of food are 8/10. I definitely can come back for more. However, it is not the more comfortable place for dinner, but it is relatively clean. The best is their sambal.

Casual setting with good homey comfort food with reasonable pricing. Looking forward to go back to try out more dishes. Go early if you want to avoid crowd. We ordered hailam char and supreme combo pizza.

Always expect a big crowd for their short operating hours during lunch and dinner. Famous for their Chicken Chop, Char Hor Fun. Hokkien Char and Hailam Char. Some other Western food are also available and there's burger, pizza and pasta as well. Portions are generous and prices are reasonably priced.

Food was delicious and the portion was quite big too. Price reasonable for the portion given. I recommend the chicken chop and bacon fried rice. You should try the side dishes as well such as kam heong chicken and mantis prawn.

We have eaten here several times. The food caters to a more western palate in my opinion, but it's very good. They provide generous portions of many Asian dishes, burgers, interesting looking pizzas, and savory pies. The "free" ice cream is a nice little bonus. The service is always prompt and friendly despite always being very busy. Indoor and outdoor seating is available. Definitely recommend if you have a craving for western dishes and flavors.

The Lighthouse Cafe is on Penang Road and quite centrally located in Penang, with a paid parking option inside the Catholic Diocese lot. Open for lunch and dinner with a break in-between where they close. It’s super casual with wooden crate-like seats, not ideal for long meals. Note: The cafe has a bakery next door, with much more comfy seats (with backs!) and they’ll take the meals to one spot or the other. Food: The Hainanese chicken chop and char hor fun were delicious, with very generous portions. If nothing else, that’s what you should order. Cost: For what you get, RM8/9 for each dish is beyond well priced. You’ll get far less elsewhere that tastes meh. Service: This is where it goes a little sideways for them. Menus are inlaid under the glass on the tables and you use a pencil and paper to fill in what you want. Drop it off with someone to order. It can take anywhere from 10 minutes to over an hour for your food to come out, depending on what you get. Our second visit there, the waitress literally forgot to submit our food order. We waited over 40 minutes when we discovered nothing was put in and was told it would be another 25-30 mins for our food. CASH only. Worth a try if you don’t have a tight schedule. Really would be great if they figure out their service issues between both cafe and bakery side.

The food here is really good and portion are also really big. For the price that you pay and the portion that you get back, it's really worth it. The place has indoor and outdoor seating so you can choose where you want. It's not a really big cafe but it's cozy.

Used to be my favourite place for cheap and delicious lunch. But today's experience is poor. Probably they are under-staffed or have a change of chef. Service is slow and not following order sequence. Fried rice is just plain rice without much meat, vegetable or eggs to accompany it.

The first time I went their food is sold out due to many customers. Got to know they have limited stock for every opening because they want to provide the fresh food to the customer. Their service and heart to serve the customer is worth of 5 star. Plus the food is nice and affordable. There are plenty parking lot in front of the church building so you can easily park yoir car. I would recommend their pork chop and indiana chicken. Thumbs up! Went another time and try different dishes. Never get disappointed. Recommended by friends to try hua tan hor & mee sua. Their dishes are full of wok hay.

Love their char hor fun so much because rich with wok hei and very delicious. Their Mantis Shrimp Rice also taste good. Very fair price (the price in the menu is nett price) and big portion. Value of money with free ice cream after meal. Always big crowd for their operating hours during lunch and dinner. Need to come earlier if you don't want to wait. Will come again to try other food. Highly recommended 👍

Very fair price and large portion. The food taste is great. And the wind breeze unstopped, you won't feel too humid and hot during hot weather. Moreover, who don't love the free flow of ice-cream 😁

Ordered Mushroom soup, Chicken chop, and char hor fun. Had our mushroom soup within 5 minutes. Not too bad. Could be better if the bread is hot and crispy instead of soggy. No chance to taste the chicken chop and char hor fun. Waited more than an hour without our main meal. Poor customer service and operation management by the counter guy. Taken our order at 12PM but keyed into the system at 12:30PM.. probably needed some operation management class to handle order.. very poor dining experience.. Not recommended unless you’re okay to wait more than an hour for your meal with cafe price menu.Parking is per entry RM2.

The Hailam Char and Chicken Chop are definitely super stars of the menu. I give 2 thumbs up for the recommended dishes on the menu. The slices of pork in the noodle dishes and amount of chicken for the sweet sour chicken rice is very generous. The hailam char is cooked to perfection with big pieces of lard thrown in thus adding to the flavour and taste of it. The only downside to this place is the waiting time. Come by for lunch after you have finished your breakfast and have good company to chit chat or catch up with. The food is worth the wait!

I am disappointingly to say that I used to be a regular customer to this cafe but the management did not know how to appreciate regular customer probably because they has good business. In Penang, many offices' lunchtime are 1 hour or less, lunching at The Lighthouse Cafe will definitely caused you late back to work or you will choke your foods in, because your order will arrive after 50 minutes or more. It's obviously not enough staff and yet the management did not find solution in this matter because this situation has never been change for quite some time. Foods prices are indeed reasonable with free flow of ice cream, hence dragging customers in. Environment hygiene are so so only, lots of fly if you sit outside and inside has a sour smelly from the table cloth, hence I rather sit outside than adding the sourly smell to my foods. One guy taking orders, serving foods, cleaning the table and collecting money and the lady only serve drinks. You can try if you have a lot of time and like to wait. Many times during lunch hour, I ended up taking out my foods after waited until I almost late to work.

🫤 Overrated. Tried pork leg rice, Penang loh mee and Penang style CCF, all were subpar. Pork leg rice - Quite bland. The egg used was not even a proper lu-dan (soy egg), just a plain hard boiled egg. They did not even serve it with salted vege. Not good and not authentic. Penang loh mee - I'm a...
