This part of the City has some amazing buildings which are very historical. The Heritage Hotel is one of these buildings. Unfortunately, a lot of the Heritage in this area is 'Heritage by neglect'. Places look like they've just been left, but in some ways I actually quite like this. The hotel is quite run down compared to how is once would have been. The rooms are very basic... But there is something I still love about this hotel... It's authentic and real and in many ways I genuinely think I enjoyed staying here more than I would have done the modern 'Posh' hotel up the road. The outdoor pool area is quite nice and a good place to chat with other mainly international guests. The staff were genuinely friendly and helpful. The location is around a fifteen to twenty minute walk into George Town with a bunch of bars and places to eat along the way. A cab could be quicker, but traffic is often horrible.

Wonderful helpful staff! Facilities might be a bit old, but it is the 1926 Heritage Hotel after all. We got a really nice room just by the pool which we're very happy with. Aircon, free drinking water every day. Breakfast included (very decent breakfast). Nice pool. And very reasonably priced! Highly recommend.

Very Comfortable hotel with nice charm I stayed here for three nights in July. Staff very friendly and helpful. Guard house will watch your rental scooter for you. Close to some good restaurants and a 7-11 is a two minute walk away. Pool was nice during the noontime heat. Will stay here again. I would like to see a small fridge in each room.

Hotel has no elavators. If you have a problem with climbing stairs I'd suggest getting the room on the ground floor. Room we got weren't that big, but good enough. Ours did however have mosquitoes, close the windows at sundown and use the provided anti-mosquitoes mats. Breakfast was good. Hotel is quiet which is good. There's a pool. Ample parking available if you drive. Overall we enjoyed our stay.

Good value. My family stayed in a room with three beds on the first floor. It was plenty big for us. The pool was nice and the breakfast is a bonus. It is a historical building which gives it a unique feel. However, I do understand the reviews that are a little more critical. It depends on what you are looking for. The rooms were fairly clean, air conditioners worked well, and it was very quiet. We will consider staying here for our next visit to Penang. Edit: The Wi-Fi provided a full signal in our first floor room.

Pros: The building is old but that's the beauty of it. The room we got was really nice. It is reasonably priced. Comfortable bed. The bathroom is clean. Service by the staff is good. Parking provided so you don't have to worry about parking spot. Breakfast choice is limited but the food is really good! Cons: for me I think the location might be a bit far (to reach by walking) from Penang famous landmarks but you can easily access all the places with Grabcar. Oh yeah and channels on the TV is really bad. I definitely recommend staying here if you go to Penang.

It is an old building but it doesn't have unpleasant odour, the floor is clean until I can't see any tiny hair. They provide varieties of breakfast each day. The room is quiet although located beside main road, and it provides very spacious and safe car park(the car park exit in a small lane instead of busy main road.) They have a long corridor like haunted house and I enjoyed walking within this environment with their warm lightings.. only one lacking is the attitude of one the worker during check-in made me felt uncomfortable for seconds. It definitely worth to stay.

In terms of cleanliness, it was good. Place is quite drab and old. It really does feel and look like 'heritage'. A pool is available but has no lifeguard. Locks on doors are basically what you use at home and the pillows were just horrid. Furniture needs to be improved, everything was so out of place and blocking one another. No toiletries were provided as well. I'd only recommend this place if you've run out of hotel choices.

A very good deal for budget stay. The service and the cleanliness is good, and above all, the staff are friendly and very helpful. They can help you with directions and destinations, complete with transportation options. This hotel is located near 3 hospitals too so medical trip becomes more convenient.

1926 Heritage hotel is good and reasonable but not so awesome. As it's like okay place.. Although all the amenities is there but rooms are not so big and lavish.Pool is there..Dining facilities are there and it's nearby Little India too. There are so many options for Soa and street foods as well..so you can explore them also .There is a store for all the Daily needs too so if you need anything..from daily store..you can also get them easily.

This place has its own charm. Always get a view with an outdoor room. They have rooms below ground level, and it feels claustrophobic as it has no window and no view. Other than that, most facilities around necessity are fulfilled. I positively recommend this place for a reasonably priced package; hint, booking online is cheaper.

Spacious rooms, located in peaceful area, good swimming pool, spacious car parking, beautiful dining area, friendly staff . Our booking didn't include breakfast hence unaware about food. Receptionist helped us with finding rented car as well. Overall enjoyed the stay

Clean, modern rooms. Wonderful staff. Wifi works best in front rooms and lobby. Slow in further rooms but generally great hotel overall. Would highly recommend

Ideal location with sufficient parking space.. Most tourist attractions are located nearby... Initially, the service was slow but it improved during our stay there... Recommended stay for visitors to Penang on a modest budget... Book online to get better rates...

if you're here for the old architecture and vibe you can enjoy it but make sure you bring your own towels+shower supplies because they don't provide the latter and the towels seem to be there since 1926. the cleanliness not so much and whatever you do don't stay at the standard rooms because they're the worst oh and the walls have ears so you can basically hear everything your neighbours are saying (or doing). Location is great though :)
