The place is perfect as it's location is at the heart of city centre. The owner and staffs are very helpful and friendly. Unfortunately, the room are not sound proof. Could not get a good rest and we didn't get to sleep. The sound from the garbage truck, the sound of car honking and people of the street talking and screaming. Hope the owner will look into this area. The rest are just perfect as I really like the deco.

Sehr nette Besitzerin und saubere Räume! Schuhe zieht man vor der Treppe aus, dafür eben alles schön sauber. Ein wunderbares altes Townhouse (gebaut während des zweiten Weltkrieges). Haben bei Ankunft direkt diverse Karten ausgehändigt bekommen. Bei unserem Aufenthalt gab es nur warmes Wasser aus den Wasserspendern. Unser Zimmer war recht klein, dafür günstige und alles da, was wir brauchten und die Lage ist gut!

Price is relatively cheap. It's pretty small and stairs are quite steep. It's clean and the owner is very hospitable . Good if you are travelling solo or in pairs. Provides towels and some basic toiletries ( soap and shampoo) , do bring your own dental kit and shavers. The place is in proximity close to many eateries and pubs but not directly beside so its quiet and peaceful at night. Wi-Fi is not great, u can upload photos on social media but will not be able to smoothly stream long videos.

One of the best place I’ve ever stayed. This is a family-run mini hotel in the Chinatown neighbourhood. This place is surely a good place to stay if you are looking for great food and vibes in the vicinity! A great alternative to the glitzy mainstream hotels indeed! PS: Within this quaint looking hotel lies a gleeful owner who is always ready to make your day. 😉

It's a beautiful place with a beautiful hostess! Lovely and fun and super accommodating. It's a pre-war building kept meticulously in shape. The only thing you should keep in mind is that the door gets locked at 11 pm and that the rooms are accessible through narrow stairs that make luggage tricky if you have them. But our hostess helped and it was a lovely stay

Very unfriendly proprietor. I was strolling along the street and saw the signage from afar that said ''Campbell Antique Shop". I thought it was a shop selling antiques so decided to go in to have a look-see (with the intention to purchase if there was anything that suited my needs). When I walked in, a lady came out from the back of the shop looking all annoyed. Very rudely, she told me shop is not open to public and basically shoo-ing me out. Turns out, there was a small label on the door that indicated that this was a cafe / hotel and the premise is for guest only. Although the was a sign (quite a small one) mentioning that premise is for guest only, one would think that as the business is in the hospitality trade, the proprietor can afford to be more friendly to passers-by. I may not be your guest today but I may become one in future if you were more hospitable, or, I might recommend friends to the charming cafe that I came across. After my experience today, safe to say I will never be your guest and will warn others to stay away as well.

Extra friendly staff go out of their way to help you. The hotel has beautiful decor and is spotlessly clean. It's in a great location also.

Quirky hotel with quirky staff. Very clean. No lift, scary stairs. Bad wifi. Excellent location.

Basic hotel, centrally located. Very friendly owner. Unfortunately, our room didn't have any window.

One of the most friendly and welcoming hotel experiences! The owner and her mother are absolutely wonderful people. They make an effort to make you feel welcomed and at home. Always greeting us as we left and entered the hotel. If we needed anything like another towel, cleaning, toilet paper they provided. I will say the room is very small but it's enough for sleeping and refreshing. The room we stayed in was on the top floor with a working aircon (necessary in Penang)! The bathroom was clean and there was no mold that we could see. The bed was very firm and clean! I will say like most of SE Asia there are ants if you leave crumbs...made the mistake of bringing snacks and they found our trash. So take any trash out ASAP! Overall, a great experience at Campbell Antique! I would definitely stay again 😁💜
