Every bite gives you a wow and blows you away, and the whole meal is like a concert in your mouth. In every aspect of the eating experience, the staff has been courteous and attentive. For our convenience, they allow us ample time for discussion, as well as for us to go over the menu. Their laksa is my favourite dish. There is a distinct aroma of coconut milk and lemon in the broth, which makes you want to eat more! Another must-order item is the chicken-and-mushroom croquettes. In addition to the breaded skin, it features a creamy mushroom soup filling inside. What your mouth goes through while eating one is an experience that words simply cannot express. More dishes to try on my next visit!

One of the best dining experience I ever had. The food was very nice, taste was perfect and very carefully crafted. The sofa drink was one of the best I ever tried too. Simply loving this small restaurant. The lady chef seems very talented in crafting all the food for us that afternoon. Amazed to see such small but genuine restaurant exist in the middle of penang old town.

Cozy and ambient vibes. Awesome food taste with quality. The price is worth for the food. Try three small dishes. You cant find the dishes anywhere in the town. Mushroom croquette, pork belly and roasted cauliflower. Very satisfying. Although waited for quite long, the wagyu spaghetti texture and ingredients has the standard. The perfect dinner can be done without a glass of red wine. This make the day a perfect end. Would come again.

To be honest, Hygge was not on our radar at all... we came to Penang for CNY and stumbled across it walking back to the hotel one night. The place looked SO intriguing that we came back to try it the very next night. Hygge is truly a wonderful experience. We ordered 4x dishes (3x tapas and a paella) and without exception, the food was beautifully crafted and the flavours were all on point. The decor and vibe are great (the explanation of the name on the wall being particularly helpful...). One thing that can use a little tuning is the drinks menu, but given the compact size of the bar counter, a concise drinks selection is understandable. If you are looking for modern tapas that will surprise and delight, then this is the place for you. We will definitely be going back!

Food was superb, it was an excellent experience dining here. There were lots of options for tapas. The cauliflower were flavourful and the druken clams was best!!!! Paella was so good that I had to order 2. Service staff was kind and friendly as well. Highly recommended to everyone!!

I love the quaint atmosphere. The relaxed surrounding (possibly because i came at off peak so less people) Staff was attentive and friendly. Food is good. Didn't have to wait long (off peak) . Price is expected of this kind of restaurant. No complaints there.

Ambient - 4/5 Service - 3/5 Could have train their waiter/waitress to clear the finished dishes on table, especially when serving new dishes. Paying 10% service charge for such unprofessional service isn't justifiable. Food - 4/5 Mushroom croquettes - mushroom filling taste good but the outer breaded isn't crunchy. Feels rubbery. It's cheese sauce feels cheap. Spanish omelette - not sure if it's layer of eggs or potatoes I'm eating but taste good with its truffle aiolli. Laksa - not the usual asam laksa. It's more like lemak lasak. Taste good but nothing special. Felt not enough coconut milk used. Reviews here for this dish is definitely overrated. Seafood paella - was told it's portion for two but it's just nice for one person. Taste was ok but totally overprice with RM60 price tag. Wagyu beef spaghetti - would not have ordered this if it mention minced beef meat in the menu. Such a waste to use wagyu as it's mince beef. Not to mention it's Bolognese sauce just tasted normal. Not worth the price RM35 for this dish. Iberico pork don - perhaps this is the only dish worth coming back. It's pork meat are soft and tasty. A great pork don. Price - 2/5 Food portion to price ratio + its service charge doesn't justify the overall dining experience here. Personally felt it's good for one time visit to try certain dishes; definitely not enough to make next visit worth coming back.

It was our first time to visit this restaurant, a great hidden little gem in the buzz of Georgetown. The food was delicious especially the tapas, they gave me a down memory lane of my trip in Barcelona. The owner Erica is very friendly and a good story teller. The only thing was my pasta was too salty for my taste but I would go back again for more tapas next time.

Really delicious small plates that is filling for two! When we visited, the restaurant hadn’t fully reopened but the owner nevertheless managed to deliver such a great experience. Kudos to her. Food is delicious. Price is reasonable. Overall, I’d definitely come back here again. 5 stars all the way.

Located near the famous Assam Laksa and Cendol place, Hygge serves up fusion food dishes. Chanced upon it as my partner and I were looking for a place to have our dinner. True to its ratings and reviews, the dishes were truly yummy such that we went back a second time the next day. We tried the Spanish Omelette, Paella, Curry Laksa, Clams, Iberico Don and the their cheesecake on both our visits there. The stars of the lot was the Spanish Omelette and Curry Laksa. The first bite into the Spanish Omelette left us nodding our heads as we chewed through the thinly sliced and well spread out potatoes, coupled with the bacon bits sprinkled on top. Next, the curry laksa had a complexity in its flavour and scent. We first smelled curry, then tasted laksa, prawn broth and curry all in one. The prawns in it was fragrant too. As for the paella, it reminded me of a chinese mixed fragrant rice dish, with abit of meat bits found in it. Started off with a hit but as it tried up, we also felt that it was too rich. So make sure to share it with someone if you do not have a crazy appetite. We loved the steamed clams especially with that strong butter taste and toast that came along with it. Reminded me of the traditional butter toast as I dipped it into the sauce. Yumms. Lastly, we had the Iberico Pork Don. After reading the many reviews about it, we might have had our expectations set too high for some novelty! The meat was tender and easy to eat and tasted like a charsiew rice for us. Not mind blowing but a comfort dish. As for the drinks, cocktails didn’t seem to be available. We settled for the soda drinks which impressed us time and again. The Butterfly Pea Assam Boi, Watermelon & Mint, Japanese Yuzu and Keylime & Lemongrass. Refreshing and well balanced drinks! Service was great as well, with the staff checking in on us from time to time. It’s a must come back for us! Heard that they are opening an Izakaya next door in a few weeks’ time. Shall check it out when we are on our travels in Penang again!

Fantastic place to try delicious fusion type food. Lots of meat dishes. Some dishes can be a bit salty. We experienced very good service. Wait staff recommended a few good things to try and food came relatively quick. Good ambience but can be a bit noisy for to the the cosy size. You can be seated upstair or downstairs.

Among what we ordered, my favourite will be the roasted cauliflower, paprika wings and curry laksa. Least favourite will be the seafood paella, pork belly and Spanish chorizo stew.

𝐆𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭 𝐃𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐧 𝐓𝐨𝐰𝐧 Generally, food is good. I like Seafood Paello, chicken wing, steamed clams with wine (a lil salty). The pasta is just so so and the dessert is not bad. But sometimes we have to wait for a long time 🥲

Try the Laksa! It's heavenly! If you like to try many dishes, this is the place to go! Cozy, Great ambience & Delicious! The chili paste and curry are homemade recipes. The banana cake and cheese cake, is Awesome, so leave room (if you can...) for it! Friendly chef and staff! Will come again.

Came over with moderate expectations but the food quality and tastes exceeded my expectations. Service was excellent and we enjoyed our dining experience. I liked the Spanish omelette, Iberico pork don, seafood paella and banana butterscotch cake. Good to see a rundown part of Georgetown enjoying renewal. Will return. Don't expect street food prices here.

The shop is cozy and neat but the space is limited. Hence, suggest to make an appoinment in advance. The foods are super delicious and nicely presented. Price is reasonable. The staff is very friendly and attentive too. It is one of the must visit restaurants in Penang.

We came here with a group of friends and almost taste all the food on the menu. Every dishes served bring a surprise and we really love the food here. The marriage between the western and local cuisine bring the tasting to the next level. Spectacular! I would expect they provide more selection on the wine list that can pair perfectly with the dishes.

Found this gem after we were being turned away from a restaurant that we wanted to book but was told to walk in. Interesting name and took us awhile to find it. The Iberico rice was surprisingly good and they also have laksa (suspect from south) that taste quite nice. Will explore more in our next visit.

Chanced upon this little chill restaurant when we were strolling along for street art. Decided to have our lunch there the next day. All the food we ordered were on the point! Laksa was truly yummilicious as recommended by most of the online review. The mushroom croquettes was so delish & go so well with the. Mustard. The fried chicken was well marinated thoroughly & infused into the meat as well! It was pouring heavily when we were waiting for our grab and the lady that served us was really really nice & escorted us with umbrella to our grab car. Impeccable service! Great food and definitely worth a second visit! 👍🏻👍🏻

The small dishes were delectable. All of them had their own selling point. We had a main to share which was the laska. That was aromatic, properly done. The only downside was the food took pretty long to be served. But we given the heads up by the waitress. Albeit the long wait, it was bearable because of the attentiveness of the waitress. We went on a Saturday night, 29th May if it helps!

Was looking for a place to celebrate my birthday and the venues I had in mind only does dinner or close. So luckily Hygge was opened! We were lucky to get a parking spot right opposite the restaurant as that area parking spots are hard to come by. It was quiet lunch with just a few tables and the menu is small but have interesting dishes which I've never tried before. We ordered their signature Laksa based on the reviews and it did not disappoint. The soup which is a mix of prawn broth and creamy coconut milk is so flavorful and not too rich. We also had the tapas and each dishes is just as good and presentation are spot. The waiter that served us was friendly and he checked on our feedbacks after the meal. Would come back to try the rest of the dishes

It's my second visit here and we got 3 small plates for RM 60. Kaki Koroke, Spanish Omelette and Roasted Cauliflower. Kaki Koroke was so crispy and the oyster was fresh. The Spanish Omelette was so chunky I almost thought I was eating fish. I would highly recommend this. The roasted cauliflower is something I ordered the previous visit and I'm glad that the standard for it remains the same. The cauliflower remains crispy and makes for a good appetizer. The Kailan and wood ear mushroom (RM 28) was interesting. The Kailan was charred and had crushed almonds sprinkled on it. The char gave the Kailan a slight bitterness and I was not sure if this made the dish better. The laksa (RM 33) is pretty good. The gravy is not too spicy but so flavorful. For customers who want a spicier kick, there's a side of chili provided. It came with chicken pieces, two large prawns and sliced fishcake. I also got a lemongrass and ginger tea (RM 11). This truly highlighted the staff's attentiveness where they would come to refill our cups with hot water even without asking.

Nice little restaurant that serves fusion food with a twist of Asian flavours. Located nearby the famous Penang Road cendol area. Started our meal with some small plates (tapas). We tried the: • Mushroom Croquettes - Bite size breaded balls filled with mushroom soup that pops in your mouth • Pork Belly & Potato - Hearty comfort food that warms your tummy • Spanish Omelette - Egg crepes with interesting flavours worth trying We ordered a few Appetizers - Truffle Fries, Garlic Prawns and the Steamed Clam with White Wine. Served with crusty bread to soak up all the delicious broth.

Wow! Wow! Wow! Wonderful tapas at this lovely, smart, chic and cosy bar/restaurant! We ate mainly from the tapas menu (including a deal with three tapas plus wine), and had small dishes that compared with some of the very best tapas Spain has to offer. The broken eggs, potatoes and chorizo was incredible (pictured here before they were broken!). And the cauliflower was unlike anything we’d had before (in a good way!). Overall, wonderful food, great service and incredible value.

Strongly recommended this place by one of my buddies. Tried out their roasted cauliflower, Iberico pork don, laksa and duck meat spaghetti and all dishes tasted good with balance flavour elements. Price also very reasonable. Quiet and cozy ambience. Only complaint is getting car park. Definately a hidden gem. Shall patronise this place again very soon.

Went on the weekend afternoon. Not many parking space but plenty of tables available in the cafe. I got 3 tapas for RM54. Truffle fries: delicious, my favourite. Spanish omellete: fluffy. Soft, warm and a little bit of pesto taste Mushroom croquet: interesting. Crispy outside and inside has mushroom paste. Roasted cauliflower: smells nice. Got my fibre. Ibrico pork don: delicious. 5/5 🌟

Edit: came here for Sunday lunch 6 weeks later. Orders the seafood aglio oglio and asked for it to be less spicy. It was really delicious but felt the seafood portion abit small for the price. Got the key lime and lemongrass soda and it was really on point. Because the main restaurant area was full, I was seated at the bar next door which had really nice romantic setting and instrumental jazz music. Love the atmosphere. Service was much better this time too despite it being super crowded. Will be back! Came here for a late lunch yesterday. It wasn't crowded. Ordered the salmon steak and an iced Japanese yuzu soda. Service was average at most, not very friendly. It seemed to be the staff's lunch time. The salmon steak was excellent- the skin was very crispy and I dont usually eat the fish skin but it was so good that I ate it all. I asked for it to be medium rare and it was. The sauce on it was yummy too, and the potatoes that accompanied it was an interesting texture of mashed potato. I loved it! Wonder how they made the mashed potato this way.. if anything, I wished the meal came with some veggies, or more potato as the portion of the potato was little for me. Otherwise it was perfect. I found the Japanese yuzu soda to be too sour for me. May try their other drinks next time. Love their music playlist and overall atmosphere and decor. Will def recommend and hope to visit again :) hope they have more variety for desserts, which I didn't get to try.

Ordered the Laksa dish as the server recommended it. Could have been better. Flavours is there but one of the prawn is not fresh (mushy). The bowl cost RM30 after tax and hope that the chef can put in some effort to remove the prawn vein at least.

The tapas was amazing. A set of 3 for RM45 was definitely a steal. High recommend their truffle fries, pork belly with potatoes, garlic prawns, chorizo with red wine. Had corned beef croquettes too it was the only item I didn't quite fancy. For dessert, really enjoyed the butterscotch banana cake topped with vanilla ice-cream, delish! I had seen the good reviews and thought I'd check things out. I dropped by on a Friday evening but staff were very friendly and still happy to accommodate. I opted for the Tapas menu and the staff recommend the Spanish omelette, pork belly with potato and chorizo dishes. I was not disappointed. Each one had a rich and delicious flavour but my favourite had to be the Spanish omelette, the texture was like no other I'd had and the truffle went excellently. All accompanied by a nice sweet fruity house cocktail with fresh lychee. I will definitely return.

Quaint 2 storey restaurant serving tapas (3 sets of tapas @ MYR 45, add on 1 glass of red/white wine @ MYR 15). *Pictures are not in order* 1. Chicken cutlet with egg 2. Chicken and mushroom croquettes/Corned beef croquettes (both equally good) 3. Sautéed chorizo with red wine 4. Pork belly with potatoes 5. Meatballs in tomato sauce Mains (pasta is not al dente, subjective to taste) 1. Bolognese pasta (not in pic) 2. Chicken spaghettini & kesum pasta (very subjective to taste, peculiar fusion) Overall tapas quality is good, will I go back for second trip? Perhaps not as not much wow factor. Parking: Limited during noon Environment: Good Service: Good (attentive)

What a wonderful restaurant. Nice food, blur between Spanish taste and Malaysian influence, friendly staff who insist, thankfully, that we must complete our meal with their signature banana cake with ice cream. It’s indeed delightful. Highly recommended and I shall return again. Went there a second time for cocktails and light snacks. It was sensational. The Chef improvise a few dishes especially for us as our friend is vegetarian. Will sure come back for more. 13/12/20: 第三次还是那么好吃。My friends say they make good cocktails.

We had only one night in Penang and picked this place for dinner because of the good reviews. We were not disappointed. The place is tastefully designed but low-key, a stylish backdrop for the real star here - the food. We had a selection of tapas - chorizo with chickpeas, battered squid rings and bruschetta. The flavours and texture in each dish were spot on, and we wished we had more tummy space to order another round. We also had laksa - their elevated version was so flavourful, the bowl was almost wiped clean. Even the house soda had just the right amount of sweetness and zest. The manager was friendly and helpful, and we truly enjoyed our time there.
