Tho the nostalgic yellow ferry is no longer available, the new ferry service is much faster, around 10mins to reach Georgetown from Butterworth via water transport. For Malaysians, flash your ID card for free rides!

Landing port for cruise depart / transit in Penang. Lack of public facilities inside, but there are some merchandise store / convenience store here, which is nice.

A place where you can get ferries to Lungkawi. RM 70. Tickets can be bought from tour operators outside, just half n hour before the boat ride is okay. The boat to Lungkawi looks dangerous. 210 people seated down in 2 rows of 4 seats. Barely enough exit windows. Do not see many fire extinguishers. Honestly if i had to this again id rather take a flight. In case of any emergency there will surely be a stampede. Sail at your own risk boss!

I had a really bad experience during my journey in Penang. I want to complain about a police officer at the guard house of the Penang port. His attitude was very poor. As a non-local, I wasn't familiar with the routes and accidentally entered the wrong gate. He suddenly scolded me in an unfriendly tone, saying there is a guard house here, so why didn't I ask him for directions. Then, he instructed me to follow the crowd to another place without giving me a chance to ask for directions. I followed the crowd and ended up going the wrong way. Later, I went back to him and explained that we needed to go back to Butterworth. He scolded me again for not asking earlier. I explained that I didn't even have a chance to ask because he immediately told me to follow the crowd. As a result, I walked a considerable distance for no reason.

It is a small terminal but it is just what we need just to desembak from the cruise. We loved the welcoming of the Malayalam music group at the pier.

Maybe itโ€™s just a trial run, relocating passengers ferry from the iconic โ€˜olderโ€™ double decker ferries in Weld Quay, to this new site. Much more must be done to improve overall BOARDING experience and upgrade all facilities, and a better facelift.

The ferry schedule is the worst there is no specific time for ferry. I've waited here for 2 hours then only ferry arrived. I missed my bus trip and have to get new ticket but it's not easy. Thank you new ferry for the worst experience!

This is a ferry terminal of Penang. Services from Langkawi has a nonstop ferry that lands in this point. This terminal had a unique thing. After landing at the port , while existing the terminal your luggage will undergo a security check through luggage scanner. I never saw luggage scanning at the arrival point. The same I asked the officer across the scanner. She simply smiled and didn't answer me. You need to walk more than 100meters to reach the taxi stand. Several taxi services are available at the exit gate as well as inside the terminal also.

A UNESCO World Heritage and a beauty of a place. The colonial architecture ads to the beauty of the place in Georgetown. A must visit place when in town. I travel and write. Be a part of my journey @shikhaanair on Instagram

A less hustle-bustle busy but homely relaxing terminal for arriving cruise ships. Anyway, cruising is supposed to be relaxing, less the ultra-modern hi-tech too modern port

One of the worst cruise terminal ever... not elderly friendly and taxi over charging to tourist. 'BEST' of Malaysian hospitality...boleh NOT!!

A long walk out from the cruise ship to the main roadโ€ฆ main road is very jam doe to heavy traffic, taxi and grab picking up cruise passengers. Because careful the shops outside the port at the main road selling things at a throat cutting priceโ€ฆ I bought a multi-plug converter from them that cost RM20, when I check it out again at the shop inside the port at level 1, it cost only RM13 for the same model!!! Oh ya, if you are getting onto Spectrum of the Sea, make sure you bring a long an international plug! They do not have it on board and their sockets are all American 2 flat pins and European 2 round pins!
