Housed in OO White Coffee Cafe along Carnarvon Street, this stall has earned the reputation of being one of the best beef noodles in Penang during the past few years. I decided to have a go and see for myself as it's one of my favourite dishes. Parking is along Carnarvon Street or you could try your luck by parking inside the Teoh Kongsi area, but be prepared to pay higher parking charges than the normal ones on the street. Just drive along Carnarvon Street, you might get lucky and get one. The humble stall serves a hearty bowl of noodle soup, not unlike the Vietnames Pho, but minus the abundance of coriander leaves at the top in a broth that's richer and more intense in flavour. I ordered the big bowl, which chimes in at RM16, but I felt it was fair, for the abundance of ingredients that go into it. When my bowl arrived, I was impressed at first sight. My first taste of the broth also was to my liking, but strangely felt a little like a richer koay teow thng rather than a beefy stock expected in bowl of beef noodles. But, it's still a good hearty bowl of noodles and complete with the various parts of the cow to accompany the beef balls, offal and all. I had a slight issue with the beef balls, though. They tasted a little too sweet for my liking, evidence of added sugar. Also, it wasn't as springy as I expected as well. All-in-all, it was still a good bowl of beef noodles. Not necessarily the best in my books, but I would be inclined to come back.

One of the best beef noodles in town. Went there today for lunch and enjoyed my small RM11 bowl of beef noodles with "everything". The beef is tender and the soup is full of flavor. I would say I like this type of beef noodles better than those I find in KL

Everytime I’m back in Penang… this is the place I will be. Best beef noodles in Penang. You can’t find a bowl like this anywhere else. It’s price at RM12 for the small portion. You be the judge if that’s expensive or not. Whenever I’m here, I will also order my fav fried oyster… it’s super crispy and yummy! The curry mee here is also not too bad. They have one of the better kopitiam coffee in Penang. And awesome toast!! Thumbs up!

I tried the beef koay teow and it was very good. Meat so tender, no stinky smell and the broth so nicely prepared. RM11 per bowl was value for money. To my surprise, this coffee shop also have very good nasi lemak, curry mee and wantanmee. The toast bread also recommended as it's kaya spread was so generous. Half boiled egg also nicely done, just nice as it should be. Last but not least, the white coffee here was so good, thumbs up and strongly recommended

The beef noodles didn’t disappoint. But this place offers more to tantalise your olfactory senses while you are enjoying what you came for: the whiff of Orh Lua 蚝煎 and Egg Tarts 蛋塔,and Wan Tan Mee 云吞面 all gang up to trick you into thinking you have stomach for more after the delicious beef noodles 🤣 But I knew myself better and order the egg tarts to take home and was pleasantly greeted by a most polite and honest owner of the egg tart stall, whose egg tarts were equally delightful with the aroma of vanilla beans bursting out of every bite. I’ll be back to try out all the other stalls’ offers for sure!

The beef noodles is delicious. But the pricing is high for a common coffee shop. The char kueh teaw is average same same penang kinda taste. Pricey bcos he gave a couple of prawns. The Oo Chien is average. Nothing to shout about though. It's near main tourists area. So weird that they put a sign up to warn customers to order at least 1 drink per table, else get ejected from shop?

Everything is just top notch. the broth is clear but tasty, the seasoning is perfect and the noodles are delicious 😋 they also bring you a nice thick spicy gravy. Prices are as follow: Small bowl 13 MR Medium Bowl 15 MR Big Bowl 17 MR I prefer mine without the balls. You have to enter via OO white coffee and wait to get seated, since this place is super busy.

Nice beef noodle. Fried oyster is good too. The yingyong drink (coffee mixed with tea) and polo bun are good. Restaurant is clean. Price on the high side.

Best beef noodle in Penang. Expect a queue outside the shop on weekends. The soup is almost creamy, rich in flavor from the various beef parts boiled in the soup. Extra umami is from the generous amount of deep fried garlic thrown in. The other stalls sell very good crispy oyster ommelete and char kueh teuy at reasonable prices for Georgetown city center. Coffee(pour thick coffee yourself into a long glass of air) and cocoa are good. The polo buns are also good though rather pricey.

Beef noodles, curry mee, Char kuih teow, egg on toast, coffee and Cham (coffee + tea) were vry good. If you have difficulty finding parking, try further up, corner open space parking. It's RM3 if you tell the man you are eating nearby.

Very tasty beef noodles with different ingredients (meat balls, beef slices, tripe etc) and the coffee is thick and flavorful!

My go to when in Penang... really awesome beef noodle soup! The broth is very nice and flavorful, noodles are smooth and very fresh beef slices and springy beef balls! Then there is the oyster omelette... a lot crispier than other places, just how I like it! Toast bread is also very nice! We tried the kaya butter where my daughter finished! A lot of people ordered the toast with wobbly soft boiled eggs on top... so must be good too! We also tried the char kuey teow, which in my opinion was above average and decent enough to satisfy my cravings without going through all that fiasco of waiting an hour at Siam road or Lorong selamat. Good wok hei and flavorful! Curry mee was also surprising tasty... looks bland but once you mix the chili paste in the broth, OMG! Don’t think many people are aware of how good it is because they may have been outshine by the other stall. I suggest to get a bowl to try! You can order without the pigs blood. And to round up the perfect lunch, the best local ice coffee and tea in Penang! They keep the coffee chilled separately before served on a nice tall glass of ice! This prevents the coffee from dilution if served straight into ice... Everything here is above average and I vouch for this, especially now that the beef noodle stall is hosting a bunch of other good options in this new location. Also one of the nearer and cleaner coffee shops for sure! So it’s easier with the kids! Always taste the same good taste since I patronized them 15 years ago, and following them to this 3rd venue. The oo chien (fried oysters) is good and the crispy style is my favourite. This new place now is much cooler and cleaner than the previous places. Worth a visit for one of the best beef noodles in Penang.

Small size Beef soup noodle RM 11,dry noodle +RM2 The dry noodle is tasty, but a little bit over seasoned. For me it is too salty. Moreover, I expect more beef and offal in the soup for this price.

😠 I reached at around 2:30pm and still need to queue till 3:00 pm. Disappointed with the food because the deep fried fish roe and fish are hard rather than crispy. The gravy is also so so only.

👍 Queue seemed quite long when we arrived around 2.30 pm but we only waited about 20 minutes. I think they should have more signage to tell customers what to do so the process can be easier. There was only one waiter upstairs in the seating area so it was quite difficult to get his attention. Food is...
