Kafe heng huat is located at Lorong selamat. It’s also known as one of the famous CKT and cooked by 2 women. One stall uses Charcoal while the other is gas. It is always crowded and sometimes you might have to share table. The ckt is served with 2 large Prawns which taste fresh as it’s said to be washed several rounds. I like that the CKT has the crunchiness of Pork lard. Sold at minimum of RM12 per plate and please be prepared for a small plate.

Come here when it's almost closing, no queues. Famous for red hat auntie char koay teow, taste just ok and the portion too small but you get 2 juicy prawns.

101% overrated. Food quality worse than Maggi instant noodles.

Claimed as one of the best char kwetiauw vendors in Penang. The food is great, they also sell ice kacang (red bean), might as well you can order fried oyster from the vendor across the street. Unfortunately to get proper parking is a challenge here. Great service is not something that you may expect here, but agree the food is tasty

Overpriced and nothing fantastic. TOTALLY NOT WORTH IT! Long waiting time like 1 hour+. The place is dirty and the way they cook is very unhygienic too. The cook is very rude. Regret eating here. Not sure why are people giving 5 star. The most is 2 stars. I think many of the reviews of this stall are fake.

Tried it for breakfast (they open from 10am) and it’s nothing to be amazed with. It had an overburnt smell (not wok-hei) and without cockles (si-ham). Only with chinese sausage (lap-cheong), 2 pcs of big prawns 🍤 and pork lard. The cafe also serve lousy Iced Teh-C. Overpriced & overhyped for the street name “Lorong Selamat Char Kuey Teow”

I came here on Friday afternoon, the crowd is pack! The char kuey tiao is so delicious!!! If you like pork lard, you will love this! The prawn is way bigger than any of char kuey tiao I had before, and the kuey tiao is cooked well with lots of 锅气 !! The price is between RM 11 to RM 14. There is no takeaway and you can only order the food when you get the table, they need the table number to order It is worth of trying.

Came here to try the fried kuay tiao since it was popular. Ordered the RM$15 serving out of the offered $11 & $14 servings. When the dish came, was surprised at the small serving. However from understanding on the differences between those, the $15 has bigger prawns. Yup, there was 5 huge prawns indeed but you definitely won’t feel full from that serving. I wanted to try oyster omelette from across the street but the server say he can order and bring to us. The oyster were quite normal size but very plum. Delicious! Though it does not have the gooey texture of egg like those in Singapore. But the oysters were definitely nicer and juicier

Always love the jumbo sized prawns in their CKT. It’s one of my favourite CKTs in town. 😍 Their Oh Chien (Fried Oyster Omelette) was also amazing. Oysters were plumped and fresh, each oyster bursted in my mouth in every bite. There was no fishy taste nor funny aftertaste. The crispy yet slightly sticky egg batter was fried to perfection. The spicy & sour chilli sauce was a heavenly combination. 😋

Fierce aunty alert. Get prepared if you want to eat aunty’s wok hei char Koay teow, you might get yourself burned too 😙 The char Koay teow was slight overrated. But a good place to show off to Penang tourists, because aunty’s tolerance is only for tourists. For locals, a no from me. There are more gems out there not being explored yet.

Frequant patron. Can't say it is as good as in the past but considered still good but inconsistency of taste in different plates. Prawns are big though.

😠 Premium price tag but lousy service! There should be no star at all! I bring my family of 5 came for dessert around 8.30pm. 🫤 Overrated. Tried pork leg rice, Penang loh mee and Penang style CCF, all were subpar. Pork leg rice - Quite bland. The egg used was not even a proper lu-dan (soy egg), just a plain hard boiled egg. They did not even serve it with salted vege. Not good and not authentic. Penang loh mee - I'm a...
