Yi Bing Qing Fish Head Steamboat

Restaurant

👍 TL;DR, fish hotpot with great service but situated at a horrible location. The shop is located at a small narrow street, surrounded by food courts and night time hawkers. 'Stiff competition' for the food industry. To make matters worse, parking was just impossible. Probably could only fit two sedan... People often mention fish, steamboat, soup, service, head, fresh,

TL;DR, fish hotpot with great service but situated at a horrible location. The shop is located at a small narrow street, surrounded by food courts and night time hawkers. 'Stiff competition' for the food industry. To make matters worse, parking was just impossible. Probably could only fit two sedan sized vehicals in the front of the shop. You probably have better luck getting parking space two streets down, instead of going in circles. Ignorant drivers would just stop by the side of the narrow road just for their very own convenience and create congestion for other road users. Food was quick to order. Served promptly. Somehow the broth started out bland but it got better and denser throughout the night. You get refills for your broth and the condiment counter is a must to kick things up a notch. Their shrimp sambal is a must with that extra kick of savouriness. Servers were helpful and consistently tending to your needs. They are the best at adjust the heat from the coals just so your pot doesn't dry out and lose heat suddenly. Environment was just great. Not sweaty from all the heat due to the ACs. Compared to their previous location, this is way better. Payment was fast and major credit cards are accepted (excluding American Express).

One of the best fish head steamboat in Penang Island. The soup taste is good and ingredients quite fresh. Price is a bit pricey but still able to affordable. The fried fish is quite crispy to eat. Nice and friendly service from workers. Will return for 2nd visit.

It was before covid started I last visited. They moved ever since and this is my first visit to their new location. Nothing has changed, same taste and even better service now with a bigger and comfortable place. I like it so much because I hardly get thristy after having it. It's something good rite, even if it has MSG, should be super minimal.

Very tasty steam boat. Just the original old style using charcoal for the steamboat pot. Ingredients fresh & clean . Enough of the local sauces . Wish they give fresh lime as part of the spread of sauces. Place is aircon and clean. Oh the fried lobak is yummy

If you are a fan of steamboat, this place is a must go. The steamboat uses coal instead of gas. The soup base is either fry fish or steam fish. So far i have tried only the steam fish soup base. The taste is excellent and the soup is a bit milky since actual milk is added. Overall the steamboat is excellent. The price is reasonable. I spent about RM100 for 4 person. Also, There are plenty of paid parkings around.

Basic space, good service and nice selection of sauces and spices to accompany the hot pot. We had a large family dinner and everyone enjoyed it.

Worst!!! Rm75 with only a plate of less than 10 smallest & thin slice of fish. Inside steamboat comes along with a 5 small white fish & meat, 2 big head mushrooms cut into smallest slice to make it looks a lots!!! Few smallest round fish ball and meat balls!!! All blend with fully fill decorate garbage!!! Very Thirsty after finish the food!! It's like A Chicken being SLAUGHTER with a sharp blade knife 🔪🔪🔪 thru it's throat!!! Not recommended!!!

Very clean environment with great service. Ordered the traditional fish soup which I had at least four bowls of them. Yam rice is nice and moist, something which i never had before. Priced reasonably and would definitely come back again when I'm in Penang

Overpriced, rm75 for the soup base, and ingredients were so pathetic; around 15 thin slices of fish meat, the soup is purely vege, a few canned mushroom, 3-4 taro pieces, fishball, totally not worth the price, and the soup was kinda tasteless. There’s much more similar steamboat outside, pls avoid this place. The tables were so small, feel so uncomfortable, overall a big NO.

If you're a fan of fish steamboats, you may want to check out this place that offers traditional charcoal steamboat. You have the option to choose the fish soup base with or without milk. Adding bean curd skin is a must. Do check out their condiment counter to fix up your favourite dip. Shrimp sambal is a must try. It just adds-on additional flavour. Service crew were attentive in adding soup when it's running low. All in all, this is somewhere I'll return again for my steamboat fix. Ambience is clean with aircon.

Made reservations for 630 - 7pm, we arrived slightly earlier than 630pm (arrived ard 615pm), staff told us to wait till 630pm then we can go in. We were like "What!!"..they really keep to the timing sia. Nevertheless, the food was delicious and price reasonable. But I feel the staff can be a bit more accomodating especially the shop was not really packed ) crowded at that time we arrived.

Love the fish steamboat. One fish steamboat is value for money , because it already have so many food varian inside the soup (fish ball, white cabbage, fried fish, fried shrimp ball, seaweed, etc). If you are not a native chinese speaker , better asked the staff for choosing the menu.

My first time tried fish head steamboat and didn't expect it could be that good. The fried fish head was the best, very crispy on the outside but moist & tasty on the inside. The broth for steamboat was delicious, too. Price is reasonable.

😠 I reached at around 2:30pm and still need to queue till 3:00 pm. Disappointed with the food because the deep fried fish roe and fish are hard rather than crispy. The gravy is also so so only.

👍 Queue seemed quite long when we arrived around 2.30 pm but we only waited about 20 minutes. I think they should have more signage to tell customers what to do so the process can be easier. There was only one waiter upstairs in the seating area so it was quite difficult to get his attention. Food is...
