Follow the hungry morning horde to this famous Wantan Mee on Chew Jetty, where half an hour wait is the norm. A bold attempt at KL style dark soysauce without the springy egg noodles, charsiew or necessary pork lard. An admirable home cooking attempt at best but no one is complaining at RM4 a bowl served by cuteness herself. Let me however enlighten foodies who mistook the jicama (sar kot) in the wanton for water chestnut, not at these prices. The other attraction is the Char Koay Teow with 3 prawns (RM6) for the middle class feasting. Coffee (RM1.50) here is weak. Wait until noon, and the famous Hokkien Prawn Mee stall will open for an unbeatable RM4.00 gastronomy experience.

I think this place is a hit or miss. The Curry mee was really nice but we had probably the worst CKT we had in all of our stay in Penang, so don’t get the CKT there.

Nice 3 types wantan noddles 😊 in single plate wantan noddles u can taste 3 types of noddles. But waiting time little bit longer and many ppl and visitors to chew jetty will come here enjoy food. Very traditional cafe at road side close by chew jetty. Limited parking 🅿️ can park surrounding street parking lots walk over. Dun parking road side and block the traffic 😋

Great place to have lunch. Many famous cuisines of Penang can be found here. There is a special type of wan tan Mee here where they have 3 different flavours of the noodle on one plate. The price of it is also just ONLY RM5!! The portion is generous and they also give many wan tons. The wan tan noodles is a must try when you come here. The only thing is that the parking here is not easy to find.

The place was disorganized well. The toilet can't be use securely. There's no peace using it. After a minute, someone will bang the door for sure. We order 3 flavour lamien with number 51. Long wait after 30 minutes, the stall skipped out oder, don't know why. We wait again for another 15 minutes. Finally the food was come but in wrong order. Normal 1 flavour lamien. The lady insisted we order the normal 1 flavour lamien. Ahhh.... We supposed there 's no use arguing in someone's beautiful country. So we just accepted the order smiley. The lady with beverages drink was also quite rude. No sitting without ordering drink! We ordered tea without sugar, but she brought us tea with black coffee. What a day! Nice experiences. No more 2nd comeback.

This morning stopped at chew jetty cafe, geoegetown, I found many customers were eating, I went back and sat in the open, feeling so comfortable with the sea breeze while ordering char koay teow, delicious.

This Chew Jetty Cafe serves Economic Rice, Char Koay Teow, White Curry Mee, Rojak, Chicken & Duck Rice, Koay Teow Soup, Fried Rice and Char Hor Fun. The famous one is the Wan Tan Mee which was cheap and good. Good place to have hawker food but congested.

29/6/2023 Breakfast Came here specially to try out the 3 flavour Wan Tan Mee. And this was the bomb. Had zero expectations after trying out the viral chulia street one, but this one I must say is really awesome! I liked all 3 flavours. Noodles are springy and very flavourful with Pork lard. I like the Wan Tan too. Tried both soup and Fried. Both are good. I would rate this as one of the best Wan Tan Mee I tried. Very unique and only available in Penang. Will definitely be back. I also tried the CKT at the same Kopitiam, that one tasted meh to me. Overall 3 flavour Wan Tan Mee 9/10 Char Koay Teow 5/10

Damn good duck egg char koay teow - the rice noodles were thin and silky smooth. So much wok hei in the noodles. Wanton mee was okay, a tad sweet for my liking :)

The coffee shop owner and worker is not friendly and do not order their Sugar tea/coffee drink ; its just Sugar drink. The Char Kueh Tiaw is a must and do enjoy the 3 taste Wantan noodle , shrimp paste fried chicken.

The sauce of the wantan noodles was the bomb, super savoury and delicious, full of the fragrance of fried shallot oil and perhaps pork lard. The wantans are big and juicy, the huge chunks of water chestnut gave them a nice crunch. Highly recommend!

Char Koay Teow Kochabi Char Koay Teow (CHEW JETTY CAFE 海墘茶室) 📍47, Pengkalan Weld, George Town, 10300 George Town, Pulau Pinang, Malaysia 🍜 Food wise: Strong fragrance of char kway teow, smell really great and the chili was well stirred into it! It was not the sweet type of char kway teow, just salty and spicy. Though on the dining tables in chew jetty, there are containers of sugar(meant for their coffee and tea), one may or may not have added sugar to the char kway teow, don't judge, it was nice. Tasted slightly like pad thai! The prawns were fresh too! Firm and sweet! ✨ Ambience wise: Great! The charcoal fire was intensified by an industrial look grade fan that directs at the burning charcoal. Cool! 🤵🏻 Service wise: Great! 💵 Price wise: 7 RM

Highly recommend Charcoal char koay teow very nice, 3taste wantan noodles very special owner call (eat white colour first (chinese/ second Malay soy sauce/ third India spicy) especially the wantan very big never find the others, price cheap, easy parking but need pay rm3 per entry.

The Wan Than Mee very delicious. Dumplings are full of water crest. The CKT is cheap and delicious. The KTT is very delicious. Price reasonable

Nice comforting kway teow thng (RM5.50) and large fried rice with egg (RM8). Wasn't expecting much from an eatery next to a tourist spot but the food is actually good. Would visit again

A small local eateries with local food. ( wanton noodles, chee cheong fun, fried kway teow etc.) All the cold drinks( sugar came, honey lemon, lemon tea etc) are just sugar water.

This coffeeshop produces one of the most authentic wan tan noodles I've been searching for. Service is fast (though server serves my order to someone else, but quickly made it up after I checked). Fried kway teow is delicious too and comes with prawns for the reasonable price! A must try I'll say. Coffee/ tea is nice, but not the best.

The Lo Mai Kai was under cooked, the glutinous rice was hard and lack taste. The milo ice had a foreign matter in it and the staff ignored the complaints. The so called wantan mee was filled with sesame oil flavours.

Wantan sold out at 11am, hence only managed to try the cha siew mee. Mee is good, springy and flavourful. Prawn mee is good too. Not too spicy and not too sweet. Traditional taste. Fried kueh teow is okay. Not enough wok hei.

Smelled the char koay teow when we brought our friends from overseas to check out the Chew jetty. Told them we had to try this as it smelled really good! So we ordered 2 plates to share and yesss, the ckt was delicious!! Thought it was quite rare to have such a delicious food at tourist spot but this was an exceptional case. The ckt has 2 big prawns and costs RM6.50 with egg. We finally found out it was fried using charcoal which explains why it was really delicious.

🫤 Overrated. Tried pork leg rice, Penang loh mee and Penang style CCF, all were subpar. Pork leg rice - Quite bland. The egg used was not even a proper lu-dan (soy egg), just a plain hard boiled egg. They did not even serve it with salted vege. Not good and not authentic. Penang loh mee - I'm a...
