In Pokok Ketapang's humble abode, Where Nasi Kandar flavors explode, A symphony of spices, a culinary delight, Let me paint a poetic feast for your sight. Amidst the bustling streets, there you stand, Eager to savor the taste that's so grand, With each step closer, anticipation's high, As the fragrance of Nasi Kandar fills the sky. Oh, dear connoisseur of this savory art, Your journey to flavor's about to start, At Pokok Ketapang, the treasure trove, Where culinary wonders come to behove. Aromatic rice, a canvas pristine, Adorned with curries, vibrant and serene, The symphony of spices dances in glee, As you relish each bite, a blissful decree. Your taste buds awakened, senses entwined, As Nasi Kandar embraces your mind, From the fiery chilies that tantalize, To the fragrant herbs that mesmerize. Pokok Ketapang, your culinary muse, In every morsel, you'll find no excuse, To linger in bliss, to indulge and explore, A gastronomic journey you'll forever adore. So savor each morsel, with utmost delight, For Nasi Kandar at Pokok Ketapang ignites, A passion for flavors, a memory so sweet, In this poem of Nasi Kandar, let it forever meet.

Wonderful spot for nasi kandar, especially I had mine with a piece of fried chicken just out of the wok. The mixture of curry is just perfect. Wonder what took me so long to find this spot.

I had nasi kandar 3 days in a row while I was in Penang and this was the last one. You'd probably think I'd be sick of it by now, but you're dead wrong because somehow it keeps getting better. I knew I had to try this place when pak polis and pak bomba come here for lunch. Besides, it makes me feel safe in case there are random criminals or a fire emergency that the people who matter often frequent this joint. And out of the three, this place managed to be my favourite even all the nasi kandar I've had in Penang were all brilliant, all different in their own way. In this edition, my rice was just drowned in a rich concoction of kuah campur, the flavours are gonna echo in your tummy for days and you're not gonna have the same experience going back to KL.

Not recommended. I took sotong, tandoori chicken and squid eggs. But everything is not fresh on my plate. :( I recommend to those who visit Penang for nasi kandar, go to Deen’s Maju Nasi Kandar, Tajuddin Hussein Nasi Kandar, or Nasi Kandar Beratur. These three place serve fresh food especially the Tajuddin Hussein Nasi Kandar. The price is also reasonable. I think i won’t be coming back to NK Pokok Ketapang after getting diarrhea experience from eating here.

This place is underrated. The food is nice and very affordable. The spice deep-fried with ayam goreng is out of this world. Ayam goreng was very crunchy together with kuah madu. My mood for the day literally improved because of this good food. A plus point is that not many people crazily queuing up here like other famous-by-name Nasi Kandar. I was glad to have came here for lunch!

My go-to spot for nasi kandar. Yes the chicken is crispy, yes the curries are spicy, and yes the prices are right. So why do I go here over all the others? -Because the guys working here make you feel welcome. Find a spot under a big fan and dig in

Quick service. Good food. Loved the ayam goreng. Staff weren’t welcoming, even when we ordered, no words came out. At least they got our orders correctly.

We did twice for breakfast here, as the food is good. Savoury Roti canai of varieties to choose from which seems interesting for us. Best to arrive by 7.30am or earlier to avoid the crowd. Also, don't get upset/grumpy easily as they are understaffed. Would come again in the future!

This restaurant was really nice, clean and the cashier uncle at the counter were so helpful, the foods are really good, taste was superb 👌 😋 yummy too. Curry Kambing was extremely nice you should try this one. The downfall maybe the time i went about 4pm they were have few choices only coz they will start to close the restaurant at 8pm maybe coz of that but i will not said thier fouls coz now during rmco not every shop has many times to sell. Drinks were nice too and they do have few fruits and 3 layer drinks you have try.

Food was good but unfortunately waited 45 minutes for food. Server said that the order got "lost". Ordered roti canai and roto bakar. Nice but we had to eat in a rush.

Come here for breakfast. Various kind of food for breakfast you can choose from roti canai, roti canai tsunami, nasi lemak ayam also roti bakar. I choose roti tsunami for breakfast and love the jiggly eggs ready for ig boomerang! The service from the staff are good and no need to wait for long time for the food.

Arrived as early as 7am, this restaurant has a less crowd. Signature breakfast dishes were: Rating: 9/10 Roti gulung daging (minced beef rolled prata with special gravy) Rating: 7/10 Roti balut cheese (Eggs on prata and cheese with chickpeas gravy) Rating: 8/10 Roti triple daging (Prata with beef, fried egg and special gravy) Landmark: Penaga Hotel Advice: Crowd is building up starting 8am onwards, therefore it is best if you arrive before 8am to avoid long queue. Payment: Cash or e-wallet (Touch n Go)

The nasi kandar was quite okay, but I feel like their mixtures of gravies are too overpowering in terms of flavor. The briani rice was so-so only. Overall, this restaurant is better than those franchise based nasi kandar restaurants. The atmostphere during lunch hour is that it is very messy with the crowd and also it is very hot due to the heat from the weather and also from the traffic. Not so conducive for eating.

Food is great. I came here with expecting a normal nasi kandar. I was pleasantly surprise. It was really good. Even manage to convince my wife (who is partial on nasi kandar) to eat here. UPSIDE: All the lauk was nice, EVEN tempting to try their mee sotong next. DOWNSIDE: The drinks price was average but the drink size was quite small. This restaurant has limited space, so it gets rowdy and really packed (but it is also a sign of how good it is) Overall 4.87/5 : would come again

My first time having nasi kandar and it was out of this world. Such an explosion of taste and spices. Would love to taste more of their food.

Food as usual is very tasty full of flavours. Nicely mix spices and the restaurant is clean. The price of the food above is RM 5.90. Very reasonable. Worth trying.

One of my go to place to tapau my nasi kandar. The options are decent, as a nasi kandar should be. Even as early as 8am you can get everything you want from this place. Food is tasty, price is affordable. Picture attached is the version of my "nasi kandar ayam goreng, bendi, kuah campur lebih, banjir sampai tsunami pun takper"

😠 I reached at around 2:30pm and still need to queue till 3:00 pm. Disappointed with the food because the deep fried fish roe and fish are hard rather than crispy. The gravy is also so so only.

👍 Queue seemed quite long when we arrived around 2.30 pm but we only waited about 20 minutes. I think they should have more signage to tell customers what to do so the process can be easier. There was only one waiter upstairs in the seating area so it was quite difficult to get his attention. Food is...
