Was really looking forward to staying here based on reviews. Sadly many issues in check in. Room had very bad smell - later told it was bedsheets. Receptionists were super helpful and tried there best. Despite moving rooms , further issues - toilet wasn’t clean at All, Bedside plug points didn’t work at all and maintenance person was not around. Also room ok roadside super noisy. Location is great , front desk super team , badly sadly few issues still to be resolved to make this a great place.

Mclane definitely worth 5 stars for many reasons: 1)Woke up to morning birds chirping, soothing to the ears 2) had an emergency and seeked for help from the staff. She immediately contacted her boss and they helped me to solve the issue. Many thanks for that. 3)Friendly and helpful staffs 4)Location is strategic, parking is provided, room condition was clean and airy. Worth the stay and will come back again.

HORRIBLE! very unfriendly personal! Cold water in the shower! The smallest bathroom in the whole world! they make you wait until 3 am while the room is already available!!! If you say something about the shower that cold water comes out, they do nothing!!! they don't even say sorry for what happened! The room is for 1 person, if you want to get stuffy that's okay! WORST HOTEL!!

A great boutique hotel located strategically in Georgetown with very knowledgeable, sincere and helpful receptionists, Ms Elyn & Mr Andrew. We are travelling in 6 pax, stayed in 2 separate rooms for 2 nights. Both rooms are very clean and comfortable. Well maintained. Highly recommended if you are looking for a strategic located hotel in Georgetown with an affordable pricing, this is it, look no further.

Good location but the room on the ground floor is not possible to live in due to the lack of any fresh air. There are no windows and no inflow or outflow of fresh air (no fans and no openings). It smells humidity and old furniture.

Please choose this hotel!!! New, clean, friendly owners & great location. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 ************************** I have decided to stay at The Mclane Boutique Hotel, Penang few days before Christmas. It was a last minute plan πŸ˜…. #BOOKING & RESERVATION 5🌟 First, I called on the hotel mobile number to check on the availability & price. Mr Nick (owner) answered my call and booked my two nights stay at his hotel. I also requested room with a nice view. #ARRIVAL & CHECK-IN 5🌟 After driving for 5.5 hours from Melaka, I arrive at the hotel around 9:30pm. There, I was greeted by the owners Mr Nick and his wife Mrs Tan. They are very friendly and abide to COVID-19 Recovery MCO SOP. πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ˜· #CAR PARK 4🌟 I parked my Proton X70 in front of the hotel with no extra charge. It’s still a public road & there are some risks involved. #THE ROOM 5🌟 The room is spacious enough for single traveler & can easily perform salat (prayer) in the room. Comfortable, clean, tidy & everything looks new πŸ‘πŸ» As for the view, it overlooks hotel centre garden. For me it’s okay because it might get very noisy if I were to get street view. Other amenities are also available for free:- βœ… High speed Internet (WIFI) βœ… Hot shower βœ… Safety-box βœ… Hairdryer βœ… Mini fridge βœ… Toiletries #LOCATION 5🌟 The hotel is located very close to Georgetown main tourist attractions. I manage to explore the area on foot. This is the number #1 reason why I’ve chosen this hotel. Georgetown traffic can get worse especially during public holiday & weekend. Choosing the right location will save a lot of precious time. Plus, it gives more motivation to walk around this World Heritage city after you have eaten delicious food in Penang, right πŸ˜‰

McLane Boutique Hotel is a great place to stay in Penang. I stayed here with a friend, and we opted for it as it was one of the cheaper options (we paid about Β£30 per night). Despite it being one of the cheaper options in the city, it was great and I have zero complaints! Location is great, in central Georgetown and with loads of things within easy walking distance, including Love Lane (a good nightlife street). Rooms are on the smaller size but perfectly comfortable and very clear. Beds had great pillows and duvets and I slept very well! Reception staff is very friendly and helpful! Would stay here again!

Excellent location, newly renovated. They have placed moth balls in the armoire and night stands which gives the room a mouth bell smell.

A fantastic base to explore the old town from. It is right in the middle of everything- across the road from Little India, around the corner from Chulia Street Hawker stalls, a couple of blocks from Armenia and the Jetty. The staff were lovely and extremely helpful. It also has a coin operated laundry which was great. Highly recommend McLane🀩

We stayed there for 2 nights recently. The hotel room was small but very clean and beautifully decorated. It’s in an excellent location too. Only 2 issues - there was no window in our room so it felt quite stifling. Make sure you get a room with a window. The other problem was that our room wasn’t cleaned when we had asked for it to be. Even after we complained, the coffee cups weren’t washed!πŸ€·πŸ½β€β™€οΈ

Stayed 2 nights, Great location n facade but the following was disappointing, 1. Bed sheet with short n long hairs. 2. Both bathroom floor n basin trap was stuck resulted water unable to discharg. 3. Towers with stain n holes. Item 2 was resolved n we informed after less than 2 hrs after we left for breakfast n tour.

At first sight, room looks clean. Nearby to little india (strategic). Foods just around and across the road. Friendly front desk. Things i doesn't found right: 1) there's a coke that half drank in fridge 2) stained towel and bed sheets 3) coffee packets for one (instead for 2) 4) parking space only for long stay customers 5) poor air ventilation in bathroom. Major issues on housekeeping. Came with friends, so it was a good stay anyway.

Not a big fan of the location (just a bit too far off the main roads and gets a bit dodgy at night) but overall the room is great and so is the kind service.

Excellent service by the staff. Andrew who check us in was very friendly and soft spoken and help us to move the post so we can park my car. Housekeeping did a very good job and the room and floor was clean. My wife is very sensitive to dust and mite slept well at the hotel. Opposite there is a mamak stall and during late morning to lunch there is a Nasi kandar immigration stall. Delicious better than Line Clear and short queue only local know about this. Walking distance to the famous Mother and son wantan mee in the evening. Good location. My only complain is the parking. Once you find parking, park it there and go around by grab or walk around.

The hotel is clean, pretty and the sheets and towels are spotless. The powerful water pressure in the shower is an added bonus. Fiza and Balan are hospitable and an asset to the hotel brand. There are ample food choices around this place either by taxi or on foot.

This is a basic friendly and safe hotel. There is no car parking, restaurant or bar. Not that this mattered as we caught the train and ferry over, and the hotel is less than ten minutes from the ferry, we are next to Little India for eating and drinking. The receptionist and house keeper looked after us, providing WiFi information, local shops and venue information.

Enjoyed my stay in this hotel. Nick is very friendly, he offered many recommendations for places I wanted to visit. He even came to work early after I told him I would be checking out very early in the morning. My room was spotless. The quality of the room I got is worth the money I paid. Had a good sleep despite the location being on a busy road. The only problem is the parking spot if you're driving.

Clean, cheap, centrally located in a beautiful colonial building and with nice staff. They have a free parking lot as well. Only downside is that the windows let a lot of noise in, so if you need absolute silence to be able to sleep you want to look somewhere else.

Excellent stay and service. Was so happy we decided to book this hotel. Room was cheap, we got it for rm80 per night through booking.com. Location was good in the middle of georgetown. Pretty room and decorations, very comfortable bed, and nice toilet. Loved the shower so much. We even overslept since the room is so quiet and comfortable. Hair dryer provided in the room so thats a plus. Wifi and ac works great. Have a big flat tv in the room with a few movie channels and fox sports. Host was very helpful and attentive, checking in was a breeze. You do have to leave a rm100 deposit when you check in. Parking is hard, but the host help saved us a spot in front of the hotel through out our stay. Overall great stay, totally recommended!

Really great hotel, although a bit on the outskirts of Chulia Street, it’s safe to walk at night, and more peaceful than the other party area. Rooms are outstanding, and there is always a staff there to help out whenever needed. Overall a great place.
