Love the concept of minimalist. All was good except the iron need to be shared with other guests. No hairdryer provided in each room. The rooms are small but spacious. The toilet is small too. But the cleanliness was superb! Parking is limited but no worries, they will find a spot for every guest. The price is affordable and not too expensive. Overall i would give a 4.5 for the service! Definitely will come again for a short stay 😁👍🏻

The hotel lobby environment was nice and modern. BUT we booked Queens size bed the staff said upgrade to deluxe room due the Queens bed room that had ready for us was having a bad condition of air conditioner leaking. First of all I thought they will prepare better room but the only solution was giving us deluxe twins bed room and merge the twins bed room became one. Next, OUT of my EXPECTATIONS , the room that they UPGRADE was having ANT around and yet the bed was having something stain on both single bed. Yucks~~~~ Then I found out the floor in the room was sticky when I took off my shoe. I couldn’t imagine how clean was this room. The staff was nice even I complained so many times. They did provide us another room but still deluxe twins bed room. Fine, there’s no choice to make refund since we booked non refundable room. My FAULT. BAD. In the room the toilet was so small , can’t imagine how couple live in the room. Since they did change room for us again. DANG ~~~ the floor still sticky , the bed which a lot of hair you able to see it through eyes. I’m tired of complain everything , I wrote this review because I having a bad experience right now with my lover. Something need to take NOTE , the hair dryer was not provide ready in the room. Guys need to request from the staff so they may sent it for you. No mineral water was ready as well. There’s only Coway machine for you to refill water that’s all. Somehow after having a night in the next morning , felt itchy on my whole body. No comment due the bed not clean as what I expected. THE TV , geez !!! fully unbelievable to control. Been checking room for the first room to second room , and wasted almost two hours. TIRED as hell.

Literally my worst hotel staying experience. I've been to different states in Malaysia (and different countries too), never experienced this kind of torturing experience. Paid to literally staying next to a construction site. The room next door is like having a BIG renovation (not just fixing certain things), and the knocking, drilling, hammering, or whatsoever, keeps going on for 2 days nonstop, I couldn't sleep and rest AT ALL. (Not to mention that I am actually 9 months pregnant) Staying in this hotel is really torturing, instead of just disturbing. My hubby went to the front desk, told them about it, yet the construction works continue. Took a video, recorded the noises, but it couldn't be shared here. (I wish I could) or the management can ask me for the video, tho we have ady made complaints to the front desk. In a nutshell, my worst hotel staying experience, it's a nightmare. I hope they could stop as soon as possible and let me have a good rest for my last night in this hotel. Finger crossed. Update: The front desk got us changed to another room, but the noises are even worse. 🫠

Very good for cyclist. Safe store room for your bike at ground floor. Helpful and friendly staff. Very new and clean hotel. Basic, I like that. You must walk 1,5 km to come to good food market. Little india 2,5 km, so not in the town centre. For me was it OK. Supermarket 1 km. No fridge in the room but staff can store it for you in a hotel fridge.

The room was nice and clean. Good customer service experience. Overall I have a good time staying in the hotel.

I love this hotel that with great location although the room is a bit smaller but overall still ok. if you are travaling by bus, this area is super convenient the bus stop just nearby the hotel and access to downtown just few stops only. also there are many great local food stalls and market just within the walking distance,

The hotel is considered clean, location isn't too bad. It is a minimalist concept, a bit overdo, no hair dryer, but you can borrow it from the front desk. There is also no hand soap in our room, this is not something I can accept, especially with the ongoing pandemic. This is an easy problem to solve, went to the mall to buy hand soap. The movie app -roomie cannot work. This hotel is suitable for single or couples, not families.

Everything was great except for a few things. The room were stayed had clogged shower drain. Even though maintenance staff was sent, but they never fix the problem. We had to quickly take our shower and pause in between so that the standing water won’t overflow until it flood the entire toilet. Limited parking space, but thankfully we stayed during the weekdays and managed to get a spot every time we returned to the hotel. However, I’m too sure if there is ample parking on weekends and during public holidays. Other than that, it was a good stay. Front desk check in was a pleasant experience. Very friendly and courteous staff. All of our requests were fulfilled in a timely manner.

Love these boutique hotels. The Gallivant is located pretty close to the city without being in the middle. A grab is a short drive to most places. The hotel is nice, rooms are small such as a bed. I had a big bag and I can't put it anyway. But it is clean and comfortable. Doesn't have all the fancy stuff of the fancy hotels but towels, toothbrush, bathing stuff is there. Overall it is a good value for the price.

Good location close to city centre - useful as some sites will be walkable (15-20mins) when traffic gets very heavy. Very affordable price for a new, clean and well mantained hotel that has a stylish modern minimalist type design. Only downside is the limited parking spots.

This a fairly new boutique hotel located in town very accessible to all the popular eating places in town. Place is tastefully furnished, clean, limited parking spaces available within the premises area ……. All is good except that we find the twin room we booked rather small although it’s comfy enough for a night stay. Nice firm beds, one pillow though, LED tv, small bathroom. Pls note that the bathroom is small and certainly will not fit big sized people as the opening into the shower area is tight. No water bottle provided but can easily get free water from the purified water dispenser at Level 1. May not suit family traveling but certainly a comfy stay for those on short working trip.

Room was too small but for the price I will overlook that.. what irked me was during my check out a car had blocked my car and I requested the front desk to get the driver to move his car… the guy merely got a odd job worker who told ‘Kereta kecik boleh keluar laa’… it was simple request and it was raining on top of that but it was ignored due to my kereta kecik.. for that it’s POOR MANAGEMENT for me.

Clean and new. Got own Parking. The room smaller as i expected. The bed is so fantastic ,straighten back my back bone.

Very basic facilities, but with water fillter system provided. They wsre kind enough to delay our check out time to 1 pm as we were late from our morning hike. Not too bad for a short stay.

This hotel only suitable for motorists, travelers from overseas especially need to walk around the hotel not suitable, around this hotel there are no pedestrian walkway, if you want to walk out from hotel, you should walk on the motor way which is not safety. The room is tiny as same as shower room. But this hotel so quiet when night time due to the surrounding the hotel is commercial area, so no activity, no cafe no food court, each time go out need Grab, if you want to walk and seek food, it's inconvenience. Overseas travellers avoid to stay at this hotel.

The hotel is comfortable, the only thing is the bath room is abit small even for 1 person other than that is a great place to stay!

Very aesthetic, clean and really well maintained. Staffs are so friendly, kind and always ready to help. Mr Khai and Mr George were really accommodating and friendly. Suitable for couples.Pleasant stayed in this hotel. Everything is fine except at night a bit noisy from exterior air conditioner compressor noise. Parking no problem. Staff friendly. Recommended.

Small Room, Small Toilet..Just for sleep~nothing much. fancy common area just hot will not sitting there. Aircon just for decorative purpose. Even full house. hmmmm

It is a new-ish hotel. Clean and minimalistic. The room was small but clean. Shampoo and soap in a dispenser is provided as well as coffee/tea and slippers for the room. Parking is provided on site and I thinknit can get full but they will try and find you a spot. Water is provided at the communal area on level 1 but chilled water wasn't available. It wpuld have been nice to have a fridge/freezer or an ice maker available in a communal area to chill drinks. I would stay here again though.

Good location within old city area. Good not to over-expect for a 2star budget quick short stay. Its clean n quiet. It has ECO GREEN policy.. no bottle drinks n no fridge in room. But there is a Coway refill station on level 1 only. Good stay but do not over expect any services or facilities like a 4star. Value for the money they charge on room.

Rooms are small & compact but every other thing is good. Staffs are super responsive and friendly 5⭐️. Hotel is new and nicely renovated. It has open dining and hang out area on 1st floor. 1st time here and will stay here again. Hotel location is minutes away to all the good hawker food stalls. Another 5⭐️

Overall, the place is minimal and clean. However, the toilet got stuck when I was showering, and my foot soaked in water. I asked them to fix it, and housekeeping came to try after 5 minutes, but he suddenly left the room, and I had no idea what happened. I thought he went to get his tools or something. After 15 minutes, I was still waiting because I needed a shower after coming back from outside. I called the reception, and they told me that housekeeping had gone home and would come back at 8 pm to fix it. I was surprised and frustrated. But until I checked out, the issue wasn't fixed. Moreover, the WiFi also sucked; I couldn't even load YouTube.

It's good for price since Penang these days is not cheap unlike Malacca. Location bit away from the action but you can walk a bit to find eateries. Room is really small barely bigger than the queen bed. No wardrobe, fridge etc. Toilet too was small. Since it's newer building off the prime areas could have been better for the price. No issues on service. Daily cleaning, clean room. Internet Wi-Fi works reasonably well. Could do calls etc. TV was old style can't connect usb etc.

Cheap. But for a reason. Our room window was facing the wall of another building that was so close, you can touch it. Internet is so poor that room TV had hard time playing music from YT app. The room (for 2) is crazy small (about 0.5m around the bed. Aircon remote didn't work and there was no shower gel in the bathroom (it was empty). This is what we got despite having reservation. Oh, parking is too small. Just around 7-8 spots so good luck with that one

Excellent ambiance. Tastefully decorated for business travellers. The wifi provided was strong, paving the way for a smooth connection to smart TV, on which Netflix was available. Clean bathrooms with elegant design. I was greeted by Mr Rahimi at the front desk who went the extra mile in delivering value added service. Overall, absolutely fantastic.

Was there during the Deepavali week. Good environment, good sunlight, polite staffs, clean room even a person like me who has nose sinus, comfortable beddings, good room sound proofing and also provides water refills. My other take is, if you are to return to hotel late then might have parking issue. Other than that, all good!

Stated recently and very impressed with thoughtful layout of the room and high level of cleanliness. The whole hotel has a minimalistic approach to its design and I must highlight the quality ( eg curtain installation etc) the owner wants the guest to have a comfortable experience.

The hotel did not make up my room. The reception staff was rude and unapologetic. The hotel claims that guests must hang the make up room card but none is provided in the room and neither are there instructions to do so. The service is poor.  The staff seem to be poorly trained. The hotel also did not provide water in the room although many guests had complained.  I would not recommend this hotel as the management is not serious in addressing the shortcomings.

Pleasant, clean budget accommodation. Reception staff are very helpful. Rooms basic but comfortable. We were most impressed with the room service. The meals are bought to your room. Thumbs up.
