Modern, humble and serves great great coffee and food. On a very short trip to Penang we fancied a western breakfast and coffee. This place displays true morals and requests we all use conversation and alone time, rather than using phones and laptops. For some that may not be what you want but the staff are not strict, you can use your phone but the owner does welcome natural conversation (I say whilst typing on my phone in the cafe haha). This morning, we have ordered scrambled eggs, smoked salmon with croissant. Beautifully done. The owner is extremely friendly and helpful and even gave us a free coffee tasting (Ethiopian) and taught us the process (they even give you a loyalty card) . I highly recommend. Thank you for having us. We wish you well

Warning, this place is rather expensive. But, if you are after high quality pour over coffee, this is the place to go to. Insider tips: Talk to the boss about coffee. He is a coffee expert and enthusiasts. He is very knowledgeable and like to share his coffee experience. I think the price you pay is inclusive of learning some coffee tips and tricks from him. You can find some coffee gadgets, equipment as well as freshly roast coffee beans here.

Specially coffee for those that are looking for it. Hand and drip brew coffee available from a very enthusiastic owner who only wants to show you the best coffee around! Normal espresso options also available as well yummy breakfast and smoothies for non coffee drinkers. Looking to expand your coffee understanding and get into home brewing, this is the place to try new options! Owner and staff friendly and chatty. Let us try several coffee types and surprised us with black coffee options versus milk. Will be back!!

I recently visited Budan's Brew, a coffee bar, and had an amazing experience. I tried their signature blend, the "Morning Call," which was immersion brewed and resulted in a clean, sweet cup with an aroma of lychee and tasting notes of cherries. I was offered a large kurma, to my surprise, after which the coffee offered slight hints of black pepper, making it an even more unique experience. Mr. Har, the owner himself, was incredibly friendly and showed me the different coffee gadgets that I could use to replicate a good brew at home. I appreciated his knowledge and willingness to share his expertise. I highly recommend Budan's Brew for anyone looking for a great cup of coffee. It was truly a delightful experience.

It serve average coffee, but is a very cash oriented cafe, upgraded my bean to their own specialty without notify me and charge in my bill. It make me more Imbalance when crews choose to provide water for free to other tables but insist to charge me for evian water prices when I request just a cup water after my coffee sip. Super disappointed with favouritism cafe

Really good espresso. I ordered a macchiato and the owner was careful to ask me if I wanted a caffè macchiato or a latte macchiato. Ended up slightly confused because I expected the caffè macchiato to be like what Canadian coffee shops call an espresso macchiato, but it was more like a miniature cappuccino with mostly foam on top of the espresso. Possibly my bad; in any case largely irrelevant because the espresso is quite tasty and properly made. Classy but comfortable warehouse-chic decor and vibe with interesting black and white photographs on display. Music was a bit poppy for my tastes.

I went to Budan Coffee over the weekend, it’s been a while since my last visit, due to the travel restrictions. They really make great coffee. It’s more scientific than chemistry, they really pay attention to details. It was by far the best Ice Americano I had for a while and very very β€œkao”(thick). I do enjoy the science they make. And the Raspberry shake is just as Marvellous. 5 star, well deserved by the shop and the crew. I will definitely be back, hopefully sooner than later.

I read a lot of comments below and decided to give it a try. Lots of comments about it being pricy. If you think all coffee taste the same, then yes, it is a bit pricy. If you’re into coffee, you will not be disappointed. Most places serve single-origin beans. But here, you get to try special blends by the owner. I think that requires another level of skills. Definitely a hidden gem.

😠 Premium price tag but lousy service! There should be no star at all! I bring my family of 5 came for dessert around 8.30pm. 🫀 Overrated. Tried pork leg rice, Penang loh mee and Penang style CCF, all were subpar. Pork leg rice - Quite bland. The egg used was not even a proper lu-dan (soy egg), just a plain hard boiled egg. They did not even serve it with salted vege. Not good and not authentic. Penang loh mee - I'm a...
