One of the best Chinese Cuisine in Penang. The foods are nice and delicious. But there is limited variants of food choices. The drinks have strong aroma and tasty to drink. Heavy taste. Limited parking around. Always full of people at peak hours so better call for reservation before having the meal.

Indicator: 1⭐ - 5⭐, 1⭐: Very Bad, 2⭐: Bad, 3⭐: So-so, 4⭐: Good 5⭐: Very good. Food: ⭐⭐⭐ Decent. I would say there are other places where serve foods with better tastes. Salted Egg Fish Skin: not really up to expectations. Cannot really taste the Salted egg and I don't really taste the spices. Fried rice: so-so. Cannot say it's bad la, jiu really decent nia ah. But it's very dry. My father almost choked himself. 🤣 Gyoza: Not bad, but it's not juicy inside. Try to use meat with more fats? So after pan-fried, it should be juicy inside. Drinks: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Ho Ka Sai Ice Blended: Gooooooood. Meet my expectations. Coffee taste is strong. Only flaw would be too sweet. Haha. Environment: ⭐⭐⭐ Views very nice, decoration also not bad, it's typical Instagram-able place. Recommended for those who wNt to snap nice photo haha. But ah, OMG, it's so warm inside. Sunlight somehow can penetrate the roof and hit your skin if you choose the wrong place. Not really sure if the air-cond was working or not leh. Staff: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Friendly, kinda 'automatic'. Conclusion: Can come to try if you haven't been there before but it's not the type of cafe or restaurant that I would be revisiting. Disclaimers: All views are my personal thoughts.

Local friend recommended this shop. Highly recommend: 1. Drinks: The milk tea and the "Tiger bite Lion" is really good. 2. Food: - Beef noodle, better than the most famous beef noodle in Taiwan. I order the spicy version, medium spicy. - Wantan mee with roast pork. Legit

The food is really nice here, the thick noodle texture is good. Soup taste good with little hint of spicy in it. Environment quite nice and staff are friendly.

Nicely design modern cafe style Chinese restaurant with oodles of noodles. Soup base is excellent and options are decent (same ingredients, different soup base). Nice wantons, beef brisket is superb; noodles fair. Pricing is fair - 16-18 for a bowl of hot noodles and drinks are around 10. Nestled in the middle of Lorong Prangin, the lone glowing light in a long street of shophouses, Ichi Tong is a shining beacon of local Chinese style cuisine.

Situated on Lorong Prangin. Parking could be a challenge due to limited space and small road. This place has good environment and deco inside. Pictures will turn out food. The soup dishes are nice however the dry dishes is not to my liking.

Food taste and quality very good. Service also nice and friendly. Nice comfortable environment. However, I don't think that they should put the automatic spray air freshener in the restaurant.

Supreme tok tok noodles with crispy pork and chilli dumplings. Strongest lunch joint in the area for food, beverage and a spacious, relaxed vibe. I felt a powerful rush of accelerated personal transformation upon completing the noodles in particular and hope you can experience this also.

This cafe shop are providing the local asian food and beverage at Georgetown area. Overall is not bad, comfortable environment, suitable for family gathering and chilling place. Food is tasty and portion good enough for me. Highly recommend their fish head noodle with condornited milk soup and tomyam spicy fish noodle. Price is reasonable, will definitely come again.

I really have no choice but to leave this review. I was walking by, and this seemed like a nice spot hidden away from the tourists. To my surprise, the food is shockingly horrible and very expensive. This is one of those meals where I felt sick immediately after, both literally (from the food itself) and metaphorically (the regret of spending so much). I had the crispy roast pork, vinegar and chili fresh dumplings, Sichuan won ton dumpling soup with prawn, and then tried the sambal fried rice with prawn after sending the soup back to the kitchen. The roast pork was dry and lifeless, and served on a bed of shredded lettuce (which was the first warning sign). The dumplings were decent, but the shredded ginger piled on top made for awkward presentation. Once the Sichuan won ton dumpling soup made its way out, things took a turn for the worst. It was simply inedible. I love very spicy; I love salt. This was way too much of both. I couldn't feel my tongue after two bites. Straight back to the kitchen. My biggest mistake was thinking I could right a wrong by ordering something else. The sambal fried rice that other reviewers have raved about was disgusting. Dry, no flavor coherency, sambal had way too much prawn paste, the shrimp tasted like they were half cooked. Just yuck. I cut my losses and left after I was RM 80 into this mess. There are so many places with better food at better prices within walking distance of this place. Don't make this mistake.

This restaurant is well hidden in streets of Georgetown area. They served one of the best fried rice in Penang. Especially Sambal Fried Rice and Salted Egg Fried Rice. Nice environment for gathering of friends. Their menu also have variety of noodles to choose from such as Tok-tok noodles, Curry , Sichuan, and Tomato Milk Soup Noodles which comes with side of fresh/fried fish, chicken or roast pork. Friendly staff and great customer service.

Went for a friend's birthday dinner last night. Food wad very good. Had delicious roasted Pork Wantan mee (two of my favourites in one dish); also salted egg fish skin & fried rice! Their yuen yung drink wad great as well. The boss (or the chef) made great recommendations for our group and the service was impeccable. Plus, it is very instagrammable with various older artifacts like an old fashioned boombox on a shelf next to a phonograph. Plus, the decor was trendy. Would definitely go back and am seriously considering returning for my birthday dinner later this year!

Ambience is good. Food is innovative but it could be better. Open concept kitchen looks like western ish. There’s alot variety of soup based and noodle to choose

I would describe it as a place for instagramable comfort food. They serve all the classic "kopitiam" food, but with excellent presentation. And it's not only for looks, they taste great. Ordered Curry Noodles and they taste fantastic. You can order it with 4 types of noodles to your liking. Another one I would recommend is the Ice Blended Ho Kar Sai. The interior design is excellent for this type of restaurant but average for cafes. But that's nit picking there. And when I was there, it was not very crowded and the staff are very helpful. Walking us through the SOP and explaining how to order food. Great food, nice atmosphere and friendly staff.

The dry tok tok mee is a MUST TRY. Fragrant dark soy sauce + springy tok tok noodle. The tomato milk soup noodle with fried fish also taste very good. Thick and crispy fried fish. Price is a bit high but still acceptable (consider dining at cosy and nice interior). Food portion is enough to fill.

Ordered wan tan mee and salted egg prawn fried rice. The fried rice was ok and it tastes like Nestum prawn 😅 Wan tan mee was quite good and the dumplings are a good size with a prawn each. Good service and quick. The downside would be the lack of parking.

It feels like a kopitiam went up class + cafe exp. Good are overall acceptable, The garlic fried rice is good, the sour spicy noodle soup can be better, the mile tea too milky.. keep it up!

The beef noodle was delicious, but a bit on the spicy side. The beef was very tender. The wonton was more like dumplings instead, but tasted very good. The tomato soup based noodle was also very good and tasty. The HK tea was almost like authentic, a bit on the best sweet side.

Had lunch here for a party of 4 ladies. We shared everything to taste everything. The senior wait staff was very helpful and friendly. The menu had a great variety of options. Food was good. The spicy beef noodles, siu yuk fried rice and sour grouper vermicelli were yummy. Had gyoza and salted egg yolk crispy fish skin too that were a nice complement to the mains. Ambience was nice. The teh ice was a bit weak whilst the ho kar sai was en point yummy.

Found out this place while searching for the best wonton noodle in Georgetown. Feel so comfortable stepping into the air-conditioning restaurant during a hot day. The place was nicely renovated, and it gives off old-school vibes that brought you back to the 80s. The dry noodle is springy, and the dark sauce on the noodle tastes so delicious. The roasted pork just added more flavour to the dish. The wonton in the soup has the right amount of fillings, and soup doesn't taste salty. Although the price is on a tad higher, considering the atmosphere and food quality, i think it's worth the price.

First time here and we ordered 3 main and 3 drinks. We spent about 75RM. Prawn wanton soup, Mala noodles with roast pork and Egg fried rice. The food is good and kids friendly too. Very Instagram place :)

Food, drinks, environment, and music are all particularly worth 100 points. I highly recommend TOMATO MILK series. I like the taste with a very fragrant milk taste😍💯 This one deserves a full score!! especially with their fried fish. The MALA series is freaking 🌶️😂 if you love challenging spicy food can try One of the details is commendable that customers will ignore the closing of the door when they come in, causing the hot wind to blow in, but the waiter will close the door immediately after serving the customers! It is commendable!

Environment and food taste is near to perfect, but think the price is on the high side for noodle, the noodle portion is not filling but fried rice portion is big enough. Parking maybe hard nearby the restaurant, just need to walk a little.

Accidentally found this place from someone on Instagram.Ordered 4 menus and no complaint all, the curry broth is creamy and thick, dry noodle’s flavor is quite strong (in a very good way), salted egg fried rice also tasted good, and fried fish skin is crunchy and salty give great additional texture to each of the menu..

  • 4/5 peach_mitao 11 months ago on Google
Food and drinks came super fast even on a Saturday. There are a lot of nice unique soup choices like tomato milk. Wantan mee is alright, but the portion could be larger. Salted egg fish skin is good. Taiwan chicken chop, tomato milk soup noodles are all quite good.

  • 3/5 Stephanie T. 1 year ago on Google
Tried their fried fish noodle soup (milky tomato & chao zhou sour spicy) and the soups taste pretty bland. Fried fish was good though. Personally feel that their portion does not match its price point. Would revisit if for their drinks.

Havent tried antyhing but 1* is what this place deserves for the extremely rude service. When I asked the guy at the cashier whether or not they have a table available, he replied like we come in asking for free food!! Totally unacceptable! I get that the place is busy but there's definitely a better way to handle customers. I'd expect this level of service if I'm buying food from a hawker, definitely not from a nice looking cafe. Adding an extra * thanks to the younger guy who serves us later on and is actually helping us.

A secret dinning place in old street. Renovated from old shop house. Very crowded and beloved by locals as well. Signature dish is the dry wanton noodle, which you can see how it is cooked from open kitchen. Well decorated and spacious seating. Friendly owner who helped us to find a seat after waited almost 30min under a hot weather 🥵. Great place to recommend, but don’t go during peak hour like weekend

Restaurant with decent Chinese snacks, noodles and fried rice. Noodle portion can be a bit small especially the one with sour and spicy soup as most portion has been taken up by A LOT of herbs and lemongrass which cannot be eaten. Not full even after a bowl. I would recommend to owners to at least increase the noodle portion to suit the price - quite pricey for RM18.80-20.80. Food taste is decent. Otherwise, ambience is ok. Good place to catch up with friends and family.

Full of people and do come at off-peak time after 2.30pm. Price on the high side, as most items >RM17. Duck egg fried rice from RM14.80 to RM18.80. Drink from RM6.80 for Evian water to RM13.90 for ice blended. Taste quite good for the sour spicy grouper fish noodle and roast pork toktok noodle. Good service and nice environment.

𝐆𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐅𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐍𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐃𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 Basically, Ichi Tong dishes suit me alot except some spicy dishes. I really like beef noodle!!! The flavor of soft beef with potato is very nice!!! Dumpling soup is delicious, too!!! But the seafood mee is not really good and I don’t recommend it!!! The restaurant atmosphere is a lil peaceful and Chinese style decorated!!!

👍 Queue seemed quite long when we arrived around 2.30 pm but we only waited about 20 minutes. I think they should have more signage to tell customers what to do so the process can be easier.
