Very famous hawker centre where you can find all local yummy foods here. Be prepared to queue for the foods. Go early to find parking too. U can park at nearby mall and just walk to here just like I did. 😛

As a frequently returning Penangite I can say that this place has lost both its street food quality and it’s charm. Customers still throng the place due to its once-famous name and tourists are often guided here as an all-in-one-place Penang food fiesta. But that’s a shame. Penang has so much better to offer. Quality of almost all food is lower than elsewhere on the Island. Speed to serve large numbers of customers during holidays and peak hours has forced sellers to comprise on cooking time and methods. Serving sizes have dropped and ingredients watered-down. Ironically, prices have gone up. The Gurney Drive promenade that was once breezy and open, is now congested with traffic and the sea-face is undergoing massive land reclamation. For now at least, the charm of Gurney Drive is gone. Suggestions: - go for the famous CKT - muah chee is still good - fruit rojak is good - avoid pasembur - satay, only if you’re desperate

There is a wide variety of food stalls offering local delicacies and street food, the taste and quality of the dishes have not met the expectations. However, the market provides the bustling atmosphere and the opportunity to sample a diverse range of Penang’s culinary delights. It is recommended for the organizers of the night market to focus on improving cleanliness and waste management to enhance the overall experience for visitors. Additionally, encouraging food vendors to maintain high standards of taste and quality would further elevate the reputation of the market.

Very busy hawker centre with lots of vendors. There are 2 sections of it : halal and non-halal. The non halal section is bigger. Seating area is ample. Wide variety of food available. However price is more on the expensive side. Some food is not worth the price. It’s kicked up due to its fame among tourists. Must visit if you’re looking for food variety and don’t mind the crowd. Skip if you’re looking for excellent taste and affordability.

Abit different scenery compared last time came here 10 years ago...LOL of course...10 years mate. Still got the Pasembuqqq all time favourite. Came here just for them. Sooo, nothing much to say. Just that, single reminder and foremost, do not pick too much item ya...dah siap potong nanti dia jadi banyak giler weh huahuahua...so chill2 lek2...amek sket2 tak cukup kasi tambah. Taste still the same. Only thing is still, not much parking lots. Recommended !! Tqverygud

I was disappointed and let down but the sheer rudeness of certain hawkers. We were a group of 10 so needed a bigger table and none could accommodate although it was early and empty! The food least to say was average. The quality and portion has dropped. Possibly due to covid and how prices of things has gone up. Portions are smaller. Don’t think I’d be back anytime soon. It’s not like what it was before. Many stalls are closed. I’d usually say, let’s support the local scene but in this case I was put off by some rude people. 5/10.

One of the popular hawker food centres you must come to get the taste of Penang food. Came here with friends for dinner. Pasembur was good, except the tau fu tasted 'spoilt' (basi). Fried oyster with egg was good. Char koay teow was good (have to wait in long long q). Boiled cockerells quite good. But somehow i felt that the prices have gone up. Some stalls don't allow you to share seatings with another stall. There's a well kept public toilet here, too.

Yummy street food. Quality wise, I think there’s too much good food in Penang for this place to stand out. The nice thing is that it’s kind of near the beach, and the atmosphere is nice because many tourists are eating here. Food here is still reasonably cheap, but slightly marked up due to being Gurney Drive. I enjoyed the food here, but I think many small coffee shops & hawker centres have comparable food at cheaper prices. Come if you’d just like to say you’ve been to Gurney Drive in Penang!

Super love the ochien (fried oyster with egg) from No. 84 stall! Definitely a must try! The mix of oyster, egg, starch and flavouring is cooked to perfection. I've tried this at many other stalls but hasn't been as good as this one.

Foods are amazingly delicious and authentic! Quite busy area that serious traffic may be expected in weekend. Each table is belonging to certain vendor, so better find a table under the shop you like before ordering, so you don’t have to pay extra to other shop

Went on 1st May which is public holiday at around 10pm. Usually, this place was the busier and quite full with people but somehow that day not so many people. For tourists, you should be aware because at Anjung Gurney, they have 2 section likes one for non-muslim and another one for Muslims. All foods at here was delicious and many varieties to choose. That day was quite rainy but don't worry because have roof and shelter. A bit wet but it's ok. While sitting, the table was messed and someone came and clean the table. Well, spent your money wisely because I can guarantee you will try everything.

Disappointed with the food taste as I would’ve expected Malaysia food to be better than Singapore. Gurney is always highly raved and it’s a tourist hot spot but the food was not good at all and quite expensive in ringgit. Will not visit again. You’re better off elsewhere.

Great variety of local food here. There were many stalls selling similar kind of food. You can’t go wrong with most of it. As we want to try out few different types, we ordered and shared. I was here long time ago. The stalls are now further away from the seaside. I miss the earlier location. The food is still nice though.

Lots of tasty food options for very reasonable prices. We had laksa and char kuey teow (this one is a small portion size and not quite as good for all the hype is gets). It was also incredibly hot in the sitting area but you can get a cold beer.

One of the famous places to try Malay and Chinese dishes in Penang, Malaysia. This place is huge filled with multiple vendors providing various varieties of food offering all seafood, Pork, beef and chicken dishes. Getting Parking spots for your car may be tricky during weekends. A good place to have good time chatting and eating with friends and family.

There are two sides of this hawker centre. One side is halal and the other is not halal. I ordered the satay and it was yummy. The rojak looked so good! Open late and there is a bus that you can take to and from Georgetown area.

Very good food serve here the best thing is you can seat anywhere and yet you can order from any stall that you desire. They are very well knit community and no jealousy among each other. Words cannot explain their cooperation and understanding. KUDOS to all the seller who actually sells great food and excellent service.

Food is quite ok. Famous char kuey tiaw, Asam laksa, and popiah stalls are here.Youmust wait in a long queue to place the order. Need to stand beside other customer's table and wait for them to leave. Quite embarrassing. Lol. But you don't do this, you're not going to get a table. This place is so crowded especially during weekend and public holiday. Recommended: Grilled Cuttlefish, Char kuey tiaw, popiah Food: Yummy Price: Moderate Service: not all are friendly maybe they are too busy Cleanliness: 2 stars Parking: find your own parking lot around gurney plaza or anywhere nearby the hawker center.

This is one of the iconic Penang night food markets. Located next to the Plaza Gurney. There are plenty of food stalls selling varieties of dishes. Might get a bit confused for the first timer to select from many vendors. Just take your time and stroll around from side to side and enjoy the vibrant ambience of Penang night hawkers. Along with the busy flow of tourists, we could hear the seller enthusiastically promoted their signature dishes and greet us with a big smile. The price might be a bit pricey for some, but they usually provide a menu with a price list, so you could check the price before you buy from them. We ordered the Char Koay Teow, Fried Rice, Fried Noodle with duck egg, Chinese Satay, Fried Tofu, coconut and fresh fruit juice. We also bought Roti Canai for take away. My parents always enjoy their visit to this place, this large place has plenty of tables and chairs with a toilet facility, we suggest that you should come early to avoid crowded during dinner time.

An open air hawker centre (food court) that is ever so popular amongst tourists. Within walking distance from Gurney Plaza. The food court is divided into two main sections - Halal and Non-Halal. I went to the Halal one and found Gani Pasembur and Oyster Omelette to be quite nice. Price might be a little bit higher than other hawker centre in Penang. But I daresay justified owing to its location. Oh, if you are here during durian season, there will be stalls selling durian.

Buzzing with people and fun to watch how our people enjoy local food. Many varieties and sellers are fairly friendly and serve you fast despite the crowd. Good place to get around hunting for food.

Perfect supper spot, wide variety of items to select. Beef soup in the Muslim section is to die for, 15RM for a large and generously filled bowl of beef cuts. Lovely.

Good local hawker food. If you haven't been there you can try once and if you want it to, it's not that bad to try nor good also. They don't speak english and the chinese aunts like to rushing me to order as they had a thousand customers without menu book what do you want me suppose to order. She gave me chicken egg without asking me there's another egg. That chaw kuay tiao with a long que isn't that tasty. Is that a best chaw keay tiao in the town? What a pity... They sell fried kuay tiao with duck egg although i don't want to try it anymore. I can cook it at home. Too bad!! Either, In Jakarta there's a lot of cheap fried kuay tiao around US$1 and taste better than it or in Kuala Lumpur too. Aiyooh... I tried purple things similar as fried taro in lor bak station it's good tho. Overall yeah so-so lah...

This is a must visit. Omg I went crazy. Lol. So much food and I can't have it all. Well, I ate what I could. I love the ikan bakar the most!!! Tbh, everything was good there. Nothing failed my taste buds. We ordered Asam Laksa, Char kuay teow, Pasembur, or chien (fried oyster egg omelette) and some stir fried Yee mee? They called it e fu mee. Nway that was random but taste pretty good. I don't mind coming back at all

Choice of Malay, Chinese, Indian and Western food. Expect crowds and patiently waiting in line for the Penang Char Koay Teow, Pasembur, Laksa and Satay. Arrived at 8.30pm and it was already crowded. Overall, food was a 7 out of 10. Drinks ordered from one of the stalls however were watered down especially the sugar cane juice. Finding a parking spot is a bit tough along the roadside (designated) but you'll eventually get a spot. Park on yellow line at your own risk.

Definitely a must-visit hawker centre when you’re in Georgetown. A wide variety of food is available here. The price isn’t that bad as well. On a good day (when it isn’t raining), it’s nice to have a good meal here.

Medium sized hawker with lots of good eats and clean toilets. We came here a couple times during our trip to Penang because it was close to our hotel and because of all the recommendations from our friends. Seems it can be a bit difficult to find seats for groups on Friday night but if you are patient it won’t take to long. Recommend if it’s your first time to try a few different dishes because everything we had was good…can’t say anything stood out. We would go again for sure.

Always heard of pasemboq from here but never tried until today. So there's 2 pasembur stalls, disco pasembur and shariff muslim. I tried the one from shariff muslim and was told that the gravy is spicier than the other one.
