Want to have lots of fun without needing to hop on and hop off to different places, then this is the right place for you. A place that will stimulate all your senses. A place where culture and state of the art technologies go hand in hand. This place is located in the 68-storeyed tallest building in the island and is popularly known as Komtar. The high tech lobby is very appeasing and offers various activities and kiosks for the visitors. Colorful ceiling displays make the lobby vibrant and engaging. Be ready to discover 18 different theme attractions and that too all at one place. More suitable for families with children. Of all the activities, rainbow sky walk is a unique experience. Lots of interactive activities for children to have fun and learning at the same time. Some of the popular attractions include 7D Motion Theater, Aquarium, Tech Dome, Ocean Explorer, Dino Gym, Jelly Bump, Magic Mirror Maze, UFOX, Dance OKI and for the art lovers there is Penang State Gallery. Foodies can embark on an unforgettable gastronomic journey in Penang’s highest restaurant! While enjoying meals and drinks in these restaurants one can embrace stunning panoramic views of the Penang City. Embark on an unforgettable gastronomic journey in Penang’s highest lounge & event space! There are good restaurants and Kiosks available for food and drinks. There is a Jurassic Research Center showcasing different types of Dinosaurs, but, it is not that much interesting. If you have limited time it is better to avoid this. You will save lot of time for other fun filled activities. For shopping lovers, there are two very popular Malls called Prangin Mall and 1st Avenue Mall in the same location. This could be your visit that you will cherish life long. Don't believe. Go and experience it.

I visited the aquarium, the Jurassic research centre, and the rainbow sky walk. I booked the ticket at Klook website and used promocode PENANG100 and get discount rm 100 for order more than rm300. Just the pic that took in Rainbow Skywalk is very expensive it cost abt Rm100 for two photos.

    1. It is located at the core of Georgetown so strategically offers the convenience of many public amenities e.g. bus terminus, taxi stand 2. It houses all the state govt agencies thus is convenient if one has to visit a few relevant agencies within a short span of time. 3. However the hexagonal architectural design of the building meant the functional office space had to be compromised against a squarish/rectangular shape. 4. Its popularity makes the use of its many lifts during peak hours a headache and much inconvenience so people tend to walk down some stairs rather than wait and give priority to those wanting to go up. Using the life one must not be choosy but apply the first come, first serve policy because it is uncertain if the next lift will be quite full/full. 5.The height of KOMTAR makes it a popular tourist attraction to get a bird's eye view of the city. 6. I never parked there so cannot comment but would not be surprised to get a vacant parking lot is a problem as there is also the private car users to KOMTAR shopping mall to consider plus I do not know the parking rate.

It is a great experience to go to the Top for a rainbow skywalk on 68th floor and 65th floor for another glass floor which can view the cars passing by like ants. Or can visit the Topview restaurant for a meal which included the fee for entering the skywalk.

It was a fun place to bring kids and adults. The TOP offers an amazing view of Penang island and Penang bridge. The aquarium is mediocre as well as the dinosaur park. Nevertheless, it was a fun place for tourists.

If you don't like crowds and wish to have a quiet view of penang from the Top, go on a Tuesday as most of the stores, amusement games, services are closed except for the rainbow skywalk/observatory Deck at the TOP (level 65 & 68), Jurassic research centre and Boutique aquarium at level 6 with some kiddy rides and F&B left opened. The supermarket at level 1 is also open. For some reasons Tickets cannot be purchased online for Tuesday.

Old but not forgotten. It used to be the most famous shopping centre in Penang. Now, at its Level 68 The Sky Walk, u can njoy 360° of Penang, even for u those who r thrill seekers, u can walk outside the tower, of course with straps. For the city lights view, its better to visit at night time.

We bought the all inclusive package. Some items were really good. It was a weekday so it was mostly empty. The Dinosaur Research Centre was particularly good. The aquarium is small but we had a good time with small kids. The Ocean Exploration was probably for about 10 minutes but a good experience. The Sky Walk at the Top too was also good. We thoroughly enjoyed the time there with family.

Other than the top floor, the rest of the building is defunct or dead. Nothing is open or in operation. One of the few places that doesn't have price discrimination

Old and rundown shopping center. Only saving grace is the new attraction "The Top". You can go up to the 58 (or was it 68) level to view the penang skyline. There is also a restaurant and bar for food and drinks.

It is so sad to see the landmark of George Town is a rundown mall now. Despite the uplift of The Top and other visiting venues on the other side of Komtar, it still cannot cover the desolate part of closed shops and empty premises.

Lot of shops closed n some places look deserted .People still come to komtar visiting government officers

Terrible white elephant. Practically a dead mall and creepy. Thousands of square feet of floorspace that is not used and not maintained. Truly a sad history attached to this monstrosity. 6 square city blocks (11 hectares) of housing was demolished for this monster, which is now deserted and wasted. Check out the history online if you are interested, it is truly saddening what the previous government did to the local people of George Town. With that said please support the small businesses, they are doing it tough.

Great experience at Komtar! Bought tickets via Klook as it's much cheaper than at the counter. Incredible views at level 65 & 68. Aquarium n Jurassic centers are fun for the kids.

The best indoor activities place you can bring your kids or fam to. It has a variety of indoor places of activities you can go to. From the Rainbow Skywalk to the glass challenge, from the aquarium to the Durian King exhibit, from the Penang State Gallery to the Jurassic Research Center, you're gonna be able to spend your entire day here with full of joy. Do all this in the KOMTAR for the mere price of RM55/75/98. Enjoy your day!

One of George Town landmarks that you must visit. Spectacular night view when I was there.

Didn’t come to the TOP for my recent trip to Penang but was here on business instead, meeting someone from the State EXCO. Seems like the entire KOMTAR Tower has been renovated, with brighter lights and shiny white floor tiles - and there are more shops doing business too, including a Watson’s and large IT shop at the Level 3 main foyer. Same goes for the car park building adjacent to the Podium, which is now well-lit and with freshly-painted walls. Not forgetting the large entrance to the TOP at Level 6, where one can get attraction tickets as well as souvenirs of their trip up George Town’s highest point - and also the main reason why the complex was spruced up anyway!

The view is fantastic, stunning and definitely worth going. Only that those who afraid of high will find it scary. 😅

I feel bad to say but 1. that dinosaur park is embarrassing when compared to universal studios in America 🙈 2. That aquatic 🐟 aquarium is fill with many cheap fish that can be seen easily. Nothing special. 3. Can't enjoy food at floor 68 sky walk restaurant👎. No space left, all reserved and half of the area is off limits due to the pandemic. A lots of shop didn't open. No food to eat inside 😩 (except marrybrown and a small empty restaurant., no bubble tea, no coffee like Starbucks

I went to The TOP. It had Dinosaur park, Fish aquarium, sky brigde and even some activities for those who are not affected by fear of heights.

Worth to see the entire Penang from high. However the ticket is too expensive rm 68 per person. Imaging if a family of two parent n 2 kids will be rm 272. Unless the rm 68 comes with a set meal at the restaurant up there then worth the visit .
