👍 Really chill vibe - when it’s not during busy hours. The staff were attentive and welcoming. Loved the coffee drinks. The food was a 3/5. My egg white omelette was quite watery and the avocado toast with mushroom was quite oily. The best was the French toasts! Came here a few times for brunch. Can be really crowded and long waiting time for table during peak hours like brunch/lunch time. Food tasted really good, price slightly on higher side. Iced coffee is good too. Service from waitress definitely got room for improvement. Nice spot and ambience to catch up with friends.

Good selection of food & beverages with nicely designed environment. However staff would need to be more conscientious when serving, not simply leaving non ordered food on one’s table while they check if it’s correct or for another table. Also to check that dishes are clean prior to using to serve, One coffee we ordered had clear lipstick marks on the cup 🤷🏻🤦🏻

Kafka is a very nice and cozy place for brunch. The digital menu is easy to use and quite efficient, although you still have to use the old way and ask the waiter for a glass of water. Food is good, well presented and tasty. Overall, I liked the place, but I can't say that the food was truly excellent. I will definitely try it another time...quesadillas looked great.

Came here very early in the morning, the place had a very nice vibe and ambience, the arrangements and the decorations are quite well done. The food were quite okay and the portions were big, it was very filling. Good cafe to visit and maybe meet with friends or dating. The service was a bit slow, would be good if can improve this aspect.

Nestled discreetly behind the Penang Flying Club, this restaurant has transformed an old building into a charming space. Encased in glass windows, it offers a splendid view of the surroundings, creating a visually appealing environment. The service is commendable, with friendly and helpful staff, contributing to a cozy and relaxed atmosphere. One highlight is the generous portion sizes of the dishes, making it satisfying for diners. The fish and chips, priced around RM3x.00, prove to be a worthy investment. The dish stands out with its substantial fish portions, allowing diners to truly savor the ample meat. The cleanliness of the surroundings enhances the overall dining experience, adding to the relaxed ambiance. This restaurant is not only about good food; it's also an ideal place to gather with friends and family. The inviting atmosphere, coupled with the friendly service and delicious offerings, makes it a recommended spot for those seeking a delightful dining experience.

Shop opens at 8am By 8.30am is crowded already. Cafe environment is cozy and warm. We need to scan and place order via the QR code on the dining table. You can make payment via at the counter. - I love their mushroom egg Benedict and the black coffee. Their coffee is not too over roasted and yet flavourful for the mouth. Price will be a little bit on the high side.

Hands down the best coffee shop I've found around Persiaran Gurney and I've tried many! Starting with the best WiFi that is fast and reliable and very low-effort to connect to (no bloody sign-up process or ads for open positions) to the superb avocado 🥑 toast, tasty drinks and stylish interior. It's a very popular place throughout the day and rightfully so. Plus the staff is most welcoming. Almost feels like a totally different culture compared to the Starbucks and TeaLives of this place. I've come back several times within a few days, especially when I wanted reliable internet for video calls. The restaurant seems to keep the information in Google Maps up to date themselves. I've noticed that during the planned water outage Jan 10 - 14 the entry already reflected the changed opening times. Fantastic!

A hidden cafe that require a bit of effort to discover. The spaghetti was good but a little bit oily to my liking. Quesadilla was nice and the pork chorizo would be perfect with a little bit of spiciness. Anyway, it was a wonderful dining experience.

Kafka is a quaint, whimsical cafe housed in an annex block to one of the bungalows at Kelawai. Primarily a cafe with good cakes, it also serves Western meals. Social media and Instagram have made this place viral but food quality does not match the hype. Other than deserts, coffee is good and will give Starbucks a run for its money. Recommend 👍🏼

If you're looking for chill vibe away from lunch hours or a place to take good photos. This place worth considering. The overall design of the cafe and the friendliness and attentive if the staffs make this place very cosy. Can't give full 5 stars as I didn't order the main course. But there is a good varieties of cakes and beverages. I personally think the price might be a little pricy for the local but who am I to say. I feel that overall it worth making the trip here and get some good vibes.

Got lost trying to find the entrance. Can enter from both sides of the road do not be like us to walk one round. Serving size is huge!!! Mushroom soup with Sourdough bread was so yummy. Their soughdough is toasted so its even nicer omg and it was so good we ordered an additional serving. We also got the Pesto Benedict with Smoked Salmon and the pesto sauce was so nutty! Poached eggs cooked perfectly. Drinks we had an iced and hot latte, coffee is good. Recommend!

Pumpkin soup - 5 star. Creamy, nice soup with yummy baked break. Burger - 4+ star, very good. But the patty is not salted enough + they don't put salt on your table. Chicken - nice, also not salted. Portions are good. Prices are mostly restaurants, but the quality is also good. I would like to visit again. {Update} Visited again, when shakshuka appeared to be super spicy with chilli (not noted in menu as spicy 🥵) they made me to buy it with discount. Not the best experience for such a price. Gave it to the dog on the next street.

This place is overrated . The mushroom soup is tasteless and watery not creamy at all . The garlic toast doesn’t has any garlic taste . The chicken bites taste so salty and definitely comes from the frozen bag . The calamari is so hard and tasteless . When we booked the table and we asked whether they can play a birthday song as we are celebrating a birthday there . The staff who answered the phone (we didn’t ask what’s his name) and then when we were here we asked to play the birthday song when they bring over the cake , one of the staff (Indian girl) said cannot play the birthday song . When we asked her why ? She said , here don’t have this kind of service . Seriously ? Basically all the cafes/restaurants have this kind of service . And she is really not friendly and helpful at all . The environment is ok but the food here is not nice and staff (not all ) is not friendly and pleasant .

Ambience: 5/5 Food: 3/5 Service: 4/5 This place can be really packed during holidays. So make sure you plan your time well. With open space car park available, it makes it easier for patrons. We thought the chicken was a little too over-fried. The aglio olio taste could be better too. Lots of cake variety.

Very nice place for a breakfast/brunch/lunch. Decent coffee, tasty food, nice chilled ambience. Beef stew is a must try! Lychee lemonade is super tasty and refreshing! French toast is a yum as well! Thank you! See you again when in Penang:)

Like this place. Good selection of food on the menu. Based on my personal opinion and what I ordered: Food - 5/5 Service - 5/5 Atmosphere - 4/5 (gets really noisy when crowded. Sound proofing could be improved. Parking- 5/5 (most of the time there is parking space) There are also cakes available for dessert. Perhaps I would try the famous chempedak cheese cake or burnt cheese cake. Oh yes, the coffee is of decent quality.

Wonderful cozy coffee place. The service is good although has to wait a little longer for the foods. Came with family members and they love the vibe. The shop is decorated with lots of plants and looks pleasant and relaxed. Since it is located along Jln Kelawai, you got slow down the vehicle to locate the entrance… it is co-share next to the Penang club house.

I ordered truffle fries and cafe latte and they're good. The fries is for sharing, I must say, and you can really taste the truffle oil. It has a rustic vibe which I like; however, it was pretty crowded and some customers were talking so loud that it ruins the ambiance. I know it's not the cafe's fault. But I recommend that you pay a visit early morning to avoid the crowd.

Good relaxing place with nice ambience. Ordered pesto sauce on poached egg with smoked salmon and its great. They do have a quite a few cakes that look good but didn't manage to order as their food portion is big. I dont recommend their coffee tho, tasted like warm milk.

This is our first visit to Kafka and I like the ambient and food here. Spaces and no disappointment on any food that we ordered. Strongly recommended for family gathering to try different variety of food here. I will definitely come back again to try out other food in the menu 😊

What an amazing cafe...it was my first time here and definitely will visit again once I go to Penang.. Love the food and the ambience here. We're so enjoy it. Start a beautiful day with a fantastic breakfast from Kafka cafe. Highly recommended ❤️

Quite a nice ambience and atmosphere. Although you could see the walls being worn, it only helped the vibe of the cafe. Food-wise, it's decent. I enjoyed my rendang egg Benedict. The omelette and chorizo wrap was decent although not mind-blowing. The sauces that came with it were good though. Coffee was good although latte art could be improved.

Heard about this place for a long time, and finally make it today. The food is not bad, The Almond crumble french toast is delicious, the bread is so soft and yet not too sweet. The beef rendang benedict is something new for me ... interesting. If there is any drawback, thisnplace is noisy, vastly contradict with the environment setup.

Ordered Cempedak cheesecake and a small Cappuccino after my main breakfast. Both cake and coffee is delicious especially the cheesecake is light and creamy. Recommended👍

For first-timers coming, note that it's located inside the Penang flying club compound. The environment was great for chitchat and lay back with greens to rest your eyes after a tiresome day. We dropped by here for some refreshments and cakes, so I didn't try any main menu items, which I did regret. Wish i have 5 stomachs like a cow does. The affogato and the cakes were good and perk me up, but we werent used to the Kombucha packing some kick. Plan to be back for a full meal, hopefully sometime soon.

Great food, superb atmosphere. All staffs were very attentive. Food was great, beef rendang quesadillas was amazing. Tuscan chicken was great. Their cakes selection were good. Burnt cheesecake must-try!

Nice ambience. Order on phone and pay at the cashier after your meal but cakes are not available on the web, will need to go to the cashier. Ice chocolate RM 14.90 - it was ok. Hummingbird cake (carrot cake) RM17.90 - warmed for serving, sweetness of the cake is well balanced. The honey frosting is good. Cake is crumbly and generous with the walnuts. Onion rings RM15.90 - fried well, pairs well with the thai sweet chili Food 4 Service 3.5 Ambience 4.5

Environment was excellent. Service slow if on the second floor. Second floor's wasnt good because the lack of furniture and sound panels makes echos very heavy. If there's people talking you can hear them loud and clear. Food was great. I would come again. Overall, be seated on the first floor to get better experience 😂 *environment also prettier*

I'm not a shakshuka connoisseur, but I know a good one when I taste one. The sauce is aromatic (the fried garlic and fennel seeds worked very well together), and texture and taste is just nice to eat on its own (i.e. not too thick or sour to my liking). The only thing I wished for this dish is for it to come with two eggs instead of one, and a few additional pita slices to clean off this delicious bowl. Finished off this delectable brunch with a refreshing glass of lychee+lemon drink. (Visited Kafka on a regular Monday, late morning. Carparks available. Made no reservations, immediately shown to a table for one. The restaurant was quite full but not busy. Easy to make order on the mobile QR code. Food and drink arrived within 30mins. Spent about 1.5hrs, worked there for a bit. Wifi speed is acceptable. Got much noisier approaching lunch hour. The toilets are quite well-maintained.)

I think the food was average but the food do have a unique twist to it. The price point is high. The atmosphere was great. Parking was nearby and free.
