Overall was ok , self check in was smooth. Customer service was great & fast response. Good value money to stay for long term. Location was easy to find.

The hotel offers a self check in process which to me was quite smooth. I stayed there for 2 nights and it was comfortable. It’s very budget friendly and you get great value for your money. The place is close to some nice food places as well as some interesting attractions around the are. I would definitely stay there again if I find myself in Penang.

What an excellent concept and great value for money. It seems you check in via WhatsApp and get a keycode for you room and entrance key. I was lucky as someone was there to check me in. The staff are polite and efficient. There is a couch in reception an umbrella stand by the door, a microwave oven and hot and cold drinking water. The entrance to reception and to the lift is via code or key card which makes for a secure stay as not everyone has access to reception or the lift. There are some toilets through the second door before the lift and the lift is quick to arrive with it's distinctive chimes. I was on the fourth floor with a good view across the roof tops. I don't think all the rooms have views but this is a hotel you use to sleep in and not hang out in. The room was super clean with 2 single beds, VERY clean linen (could have been New). Each bed had 2 fluffy pillows. There is a TV on the wall but I wasn't there to watch TV. One corner of the room was panelled off as the wet room and it works really well, the lower section of glass is frosted and once the sliding door is closed you are in a very well thought out shower, sink and toilet. This is not a hotel to have a passionate night in as the building is not soundproof, the couple next door started giggling which lead to some different noises. I put my headphones on after taking the glass off the wall. The Mac Hotel is 5 min walk from Times Square and 15 min walk from Komtar. The street is the moped showroom street which is worth a look, McDonalds is 500m away but I headed to McAllister and a local eatery called Yummy, on the same side as the petrol station and just after the Durian seller (follow the smell). Here I had a full buffet style meal for next to nothing. There are plenty of coffee shops nearby and convenient stores. Highly recommended to stay here, it is a little out from the heritage area but you can get the free CAT bus from underneath Komtar (not in the bus station, under the bridge).

Stay here for two times already Good/Bad: mosque is nearby, you get morning alarm Bad: actually none considering the price. Just the customer service ignore some request. Free coffee is not available sometimes. Cleanliness is ok la, you might find some hair on the bed. Overall is OK , especially for the location, those places we want to go all just around 15 minutes away by car. And nearby the hotel also with a lot of nice food court and all within walking distance. The only thing need to highlight is the hygiene issue as the towel is with bad smell, and one of the room my family check in, the bed sheet is with some blood stain which is quite geli. Aside from hygiene thing, all is good, no issue.

Service not good - need to add more staff, 1 person for 12 hrs another 1 for 12 hrs.. - staff can't speak BM and BI fluently. - staff enter room without permission from us.

Self check in but there is an employee to help u out with anything. Location is good, close to places to eat and things to see. Will come back again if there is an occasion to rent a room at Penang island.

Location is the best in central Georgetown, can easily find transport and food. The price for room is reasonable for this location. Room may need maintainance once a while but good for its price

After a long time finally some civilization, a great private shower in the room, clean rooms. Only the self check in was a bit annoying and took a long time, becaude we wanted to place our bags and leave them for couple of hours

Can get drinking water on the lobby There are room of improvement for water supply and water pressure issues .There was water disruption in the afternoon time during the few days I stay. Toilet floor slip, so need to be careful.

Love it! Just that the room is too small for a family. Small in a way that there's no space for a single tiny praying mat for Muslims. I had to pray on the bed because of that. The water flow for the shower is a bit slow. There is no coffee bar in the room, but they provide with water heater outside of the room. You can check in whatever time you like as it is self-check in system.

Very strategic locations. Most places can be reached by walking. The rooms are new so it is well maintained. It is quite small but have all the basic amenities.

I did last minute booking at night yesterday. Hotel easily managed to book slot for me. Hotel is nice comfy as well. Got body soap, hair shampoo, toilet have hot water. Toilet is nicewall decoration, room is nice room decoration. Aesthetics. Got free toothbrushes. Have hair dryer. Plug output fot many. Self check in. Lol this hotel is a dream. Wish that it is bigger.

Woke up in the morning 8-9am by SUPER loud mosque singing. There’s a loud ZZZHH noise coming from the electric box, 1st time we call them to check & they were unsure of the switch settings so they just close the cover & tell me IS LIKE THIS ONE. Then the noise reduced by half. At night when we return, the noise turn LOUD again & we call 2nd time, another guy came & finally fixed it by just turning the switch up. The staffs should be more sensitive on the default settings. Just 1 switch come on. The room is also really small and can hear outside noise closing doors, talking very clearly. Parking is also an issue, we were blocked by a car during our exit. Lucky the wait is short, should put a sign no parking. While we bought at a ridiculous price hike due to our fault, regardless sums up my experience is BAD and I will never return even if I want to get a budget hotel. Also will share my experience to friends & on social media.

it was guests fault if guests don't use Whats app. it is self check in hotel and they only accept whats app for receiving passport copy or asking guests to install right away. it sounds guests should service their staff. Small room, around 10 ft toilet paper left, no bottle water provided, no housekeeping provided. feeling overpaid with that price.

One of the worst hotel I've been to. The rooms are so small you have to walk sideways to the bathroom from the bed, walk sideways from the bathroom entrance to the toilet bowl. The bathroom is separated by a whole pane of glass that's not fully seal so you can smell the bathroom and the dampness of the water enters your sleeping area. The bed is put against the bathroom glass which means there's no room on the side to get down, always leave room on both side of the bed. The floors are damp and slippery on the bathroom due to bad airflow, can smell the damp smell. It's not comformable for the standard room RM90/ night room so I booked another deluxe room RM125/ night which comes with TV, window and bigger space but the bathroom is still the same size, when you sit on the toilet bowl your legs are touching the glass panel, very badly design overall. The only upside is the comfortable lounging area and the fast wifi.

Location is good and quiet albeit located in the busy city of Georgetown. My room was a family room type, but I felt too "crowded" even though I stayed there for a night with my sister as it was too small. Our bags had occupied the small spaces available, eventually led to another problem - no space to perform prayers.
