The hotel is ageing rapidly and clearly no investment has taken place in years. It is sad a perfectly located accommodation is looking like a JHB slum.

Would only give this hotel 2 stars. One for its staff and one for its clean white bedding. The rest was pretty poor. Very run down outdated hotel. Corridors smelt of urine when we arrived. We booked thinking we would have a sea view seeing its a beach hotel and you can't select rooms but despite booking 6 months ago- our view was a tree. No spoons even provided by the coffee tray, just stirrers. Repairs that have been done was done badly. I would call this a motel not a hotel. And I left a pair of shoes there accidentally and no one even called to inform me. Very disappointing

The hotel is old and in bad condition. The hotel rooms were devastating. Aircon was rusted and barely working. The bathrooms were horrible. Shower did not even have a shower head. Water pressure was bad and took 10 minutes to get hot. The beds were old and even gave me bed bugs. Would not recommend. Only thing that is nice is the view.

I did not stay here but we recently visited Wilderness and this hotel looks abandoned. I was shocked to hear its open and see the photos listed online which show a neat and well kept establishment. I thought I'd give a heads up to potential customers that this place needs a serious upgrade.

I came here for a band tour as a student and we stayed at this hotel, the rooms are dilapidated and are very poorly maintained. The pool is disgusting,we found a condom alongside the pool, the staff are also very unfriendly and rude .and the food is horrible would definitely not recommend

We returned to this hotel for our 25th Wedding anniversary. We stayed at this hotel for our honeymoon and thought we will return for our silver celebration. 25 Years ago it was a Holiday Inn. It is now privately owned Unfortunately just like us who add on the years so did this hotel as well. The years on the hotel started to show due to a lack of maintenance. Needles to say, we still had a good time and the stay over was well, not great, but well! I am sure as soon as the maintenance gets back on track it will be great again! That was the down side. On the other hand the food, of which your breakfast is included in your stay, was great! It was a wonderful breakfast! The staff and manager made our table very special as well as our day that we planned for the re-newing of our wedding vowels. They gave us extra attention to make it special. One of the kitchen staff entertained us with a love song at our table for our anniversary. All the staff and manager is really friendly and helpful and provide a great service and any request you have, they try to accommodate. Thumbs up for the manager and personal

This hotel is a hidden gem on the Wilderness Beachfront. The hotel has immense potential because of its location. The location on the picturesque white sandy beaches on the Indian Ocean is extremely gorgeous. Once the upgrade of hotel facilities can be conducted, the hotel will give stunning and relaxing vacations and any other special events. The general manager and staff are very accommodating, approachable, attentive, and considerate in catering to their guests.

We used to go to this hotel for family holidays about 30 years ago. 30 years later and I think the only thing that has changed is that they have wifi and are now strictly halaal. Their website was last updated I think in 2014 so be careful before booking here as there might be some "features" that are no longer there. Like the tennis court. One poor family rocked up with their tennis rackets and balls only to arrive at a abandoned, netless court. The rooms although clean are old and worn out, the beds and pillows are extremely uncomfortable. The coffee is cheap, there's no fridge in the room. The showers are gross. They have those old fashioned shower curtains which makes it feel like you're staying in a horror motel and looks like a scene from the movie Psycho. The breakfast if you are halaal I guess is acceptable, but a lot of the food did not look great and certainly not fresh. Their concept of buffet breakfast is unfortunately also a bit warped. Once they run out, that's it. Breakfast is between 8am-10am and I promise you if you're not there at 8 there's always that one family that will take half the croissants just for them and then by 8:30am it's finished. The braai area is dirty and the tables and chairs old and worn out. The guy who works outside though is very hard working and does his best so kudos to him. The pool is the only thing that is reasonably well maintained. Feels to me like someone came along and bought this hotel at an absolute steal and is running it to the ground to try and make as much money as possible. It's a pity, the location is prime and the place could have so much potential but unless you are absolutely deperate I would not part ways with your hard earned money to stay there at all. Free tip. If you to happen to unfortunately stay here, go to the petrol station across the road for coffee and breakfast. It's better and fresher. Bring bug spray for the crickets you'll most likely find in your room and do not bring your tennis rackets. Very disappointed. Giving it a 1 star was being kind.

This is definitely not a 3 star hotel, in fact this is somewhere between a motel and a hostel. The entire place is very run down, only the very basic upkeep has been made. There are holes in carpeting, the passages reak of smokers smoking in rooms, the room door jams are cracked and disgusting. The bathroom doors are chipped swollen and broken. The photos and descriptions provided on bookings com are completely misleading and false advertising. There is NO BAR, there is no functioning restaurant, the buffet breakfast is a joke, chicken sticks are not a breakfast item unless you are 2 years old. There are a couple of basic items (burger, toasted sandwich)that may be ordered by 16h00 latest for dinner.... this was the most disappointing family holiday ever. On a positive note the staff are wonderful, they simply have zero resources. It is inconceivable that a property with so much potential has been allowed to sink into such a sad sad state. Definitely NOT RECOMMENDED.

Worst hotel experience I've ever had. I would not recommend spending money here. The rooms are not in any sort of acceptable condition. Carpets are damp and sticky, locks on the door are faulty, no fridge, no ice available (not even at the restaurant), broken furniture on the "balcony". We didn't even spend an hour in the room and decided to leave. The refund process is very unreasonable. I'd rather go to a backpackers next time.

We stayed at the hotel one night on our way up country & enjoyed it so much we are here for another night on our way home. All the staff are SO friendly and have gone out of their way to help us. Thanks especially to Kelvin, Chenise and Monique. The buffet breakfast is fresh, delicious and plentiful. The rooms are comfortable and the bonus is that the hotel is right next to the sea! Highly recommended.

What a disappointment for what one pays!! Extractor fans do not work in the bathroom. The reception that work after 20h00 and before 08h00 cant speak a word of english. Tennis court and volley ball nets were apparently stolen and the photos all over google are not at all what you get in reality!! No alchohol is sold or served on the property and the building is very run down!

This hotel is the worst hotel in South africa. The hotel is unhygienic, unmaintained, bathrooms are infested with cochroaches, and toilets are blocked. Did not enjoy our shortest stay. The worst part is that all the images of this hotel are photoshoped. This is not a hotel for a holiday and I would not recommend anyone to stay here even for 1 night.

The Wilderness Beach Hotel is definitely an excellent choice. The staff are super accommodating and friendly. The breakfast is a variety of delicious food. However the place could use some uplifting. Overall a great stay.

A good stay for three days. Had the entire floor for ourselves. Old hotel but the staff, including general manager, Johan Mulder was so friendly and helpful. We had the best views and amazing sunsets. With upgrades this hotel will be very competitive.

There has been vast improvement to the place since my last visit some 3 years ago. I must compliment the management who clearly went to great lengths to give the place a face lift. The service was great and management involvement superb as they were hosting my sister's breakfast wedding. The food was a very nice breakfast buffet with quite a variety, served by very friendly and helpful staff. Thank you all!

Service and views are great at the beach hotel, however, do not expect to see modern furnishings. It is a 3 star hotel that is comfortable and serves an amazing buffet style breakfast in the restaurant.

Hotel is 3 star, rooms accommodate 4 ppl, clean rooms, owners are friendly and go their extra mile. Each room have a sliding door out to the beach and outside areas like the pool, braai areas etc.
