We were fortunate enough to find 7 Passes Tented camp on Google Earth & decided to give it a go. The tents a very well situated on the waters edge of a large dam giving you views to die for. Our accommodation was very neat & tidy and the beds comfortable. We were made very welcome by Noela who could not do enough to make our stay enjoyable. She went the extra mile by accommodating us by making us a delicious early breakfast on the morning we left. We will definitely return one day.

Really fun camp. The tents are luxury so there is a bath and fully kitted out bathroom. Each tent (big canvas "house" with a single lounge/bedroom and en-suite bathroom essentially) has a picturesque porch overlooking the dam. Canoes are provided for you to take out any time. There was construction being done on the dam wall but that should be over by now (or soon). There are powerlines a hundred metres off striding past over the landscape which are strangely beautiful. Everybody takes pictures of them! There is a central "command centre" building behind the tents (which are all over the waterfront on stilts) that acts as the reception. There is an outside firepit there and several braai places and seating provided for your use. Breakfast is also served in this building which has little tables (like in a restaurant), a fireplace for winter nights and refrigeration space for your overflow drinks (there is a fridge in the tent, too). You can use the firepit space for sundowners or even as a morning outside breakfasting area (the tables can be moved and setup outside for you if the weather is good). Not just breakfast is available. You can arrange a homecooked, restaurant quality dinner in the evening in front of the fireplace if you want. The arrangement there is very flexible, pretty much whatever you'd like to do or not do. It is definitely off the beaten track and a very good spot to relax away from the usual hustle and bustle. The staff is great, too. You can choose to interact with the manager (she is a lovely, friendly lady), or choose to stick to yourself in your tent and do your own thing.

Beautiful views over the lake and nice clean rooms. Fishing is allowed which is great when you want to break away from everything. The highlight of everyone's stay must be NoΓ«la who manages the establishment. She is the kindest little lady that reminds you of your loving grandmother and goes out of her way to feed and please you! A must stop when traveling through the 7 Passes.

The units were advertised as luxury tented units. Unfortunately, it sould more correctly be described as a tented camp on a working farm. With whirring pumps and motors all round which put a damper on an otherwise pleasant stay. Our bed was positioned next to the rumbling of the fridge, and said fridge lacked as basic an item as filled ice trays. It was nice... but not R1600 nice

Ken and I were in need of a few days just to decompress, some proper R&R... And that's exactly what we got... Spectacular views, just out of town but you feel as if you're far removed from the hustle and bustle... Hope & Noela, gracious hostesses and Cheslin, an absolute star... Breakfast .. Unbeatable. Well be back, again and again...

Tranquil, rustic surroundings - ideal place to recharge the soul. Friendly staff cater to all reasonable requests - steaks for a braai on the deck, lovely breakfast spread.

Hubby & I spent 4 nights at this amazing spot to celebrate our wedding anniversary. From the minute we arrived, we knew we would definitely be back. Perfect for a romantic getaway, but just as perfect for a family with kids. Spacious, well-kept grounds with a total of 6 tents on the river bank, most tents sleep 2, but there is a 4 and a 5-6 sleeper option as well. The tents are spacious enough with very comfortable beds, and tents are serviced every morning. Breakfast is served in the lapa, which is a communal dining and chill space, where you can sit inside or outside. The lapa has everything you need for an indoor or outdoor braai, and we enjoyed bonfires overlooking the river on most nights of our stay. You are able to go out onto the quiet river with a canoe if you like. The views at 7 passes and the surrounds are absolutely breath-taking with the sounds of nature ringing throughout the day and night. There are tons great things to do in Wilderness and Segdefield as well, about 20-30 mins of driving, including market exploring, hike/bike trails, ziplining, picnic spots, canoeing, etc. Noella and Cheslin made sure we have everything we need during our stay. Noella's farm breakfasts are something to look forward to every morning, and if you're able to have her cook you dinner, I strongly suggest you opt in - she's really an impressive cook! Noella lives on the farm and is accessible at all times for anything you may need. She's very accommodating and will make you feel right at home. This is top spot - do not miss an opportunity to stay here!!!

Lovely, cozy feel. If you like to camp but without the hassle, this is the place for you. Balcony on the dam. Jacuzzi bath inside the tent. Amazing! Only con, there is no private braai area. You have to use the lapa. Close enough to Wilderness for a night out. Very friendly, helpful staff.

We had a lovely stay at 7 Passes. I guess I didn't read the info properly and didn't realize the place is about 25 - 30 km away from Wilderness. I do like remote places like that though. We met nice people and the tents were nice to stay in. Good place to come and relax for a bit but do your shopping in Wilderness before you take the turn off to Hoekwil because after that, there's no possibility for grocery shopping.
