One step short of me actually going to place the order myself at the kitchen although 5 waiters standing right next to our table.no bread? Food was overdone burnt old slither of baby hake. Drinks overpriced as usually the surcharge is for service.Useless manager = useless waiters. If I had a free voucher to return I wouldn't even bother so Ocean Basket save your response Im updating my review now 1 month later after the 1st reply from the owner that i should click a generic review webpage ,that its a concern that i unhappy with the service. Honestly? Ive had enough of bad service,my review is as crystal clear as it needs to be so address the issue with your staff that have clearly been managed by an even more disappointing manager.

The service is very good. We received our food in quick time.

Friendly staff, knowledgeable about the menu and specials available. Food was freshly prepared and delicious. The complimentary buns & butter were freshly out of the oven and tasty. We ordered the seared salmon & avo salad and Hake & chips. Definitely value for money.

We had a lovely waiter with great service. I always love ordering the prawns California rolls. My boyfriend had the platter for one. And he asled to get more calamari instead of mussels. We had a lovely time.

Pathetic service! Staff standing around and not assisting...when we were seated we waited forever to get a menu so we just got up and left! Will definitely not recommend!

Excellent service received from all staff, not just our waiter (sorry forget her name)😊 I went for favourite (Prince Prawns) and hubby had kingklip. Both dishes were flavourful, tender and the lemon butter sauce was just lovely as always!

Ordered take aways.. Chips as dry as the Saharan desert! Called the manager and she said that they are aware of the issue. Spend R900 on a meal and we were dissapointed in the quality. My question to the manager is how they could release food if knowing it is not good enough. Will get in contact with the owner.. sure at Mall rates and bad quality, they are losing money.

What a disaster of an sunday lunch. This restaurant is definitly more a playground for kids than for adults who want to enjoy a sunday lunch. The kids was running around like madness between tables, screaming, shouting and crying without the manager or parents trying to talk them into behaving. I will NOT recomment this particular Ocean Basket to anyone who just want to enjoy a nice sunday lunch.

I really hope they pay the chef a very good salary. We watched him worked. Hero. Food was delicious. The staff are lovely.

Prawns & Platter for 1 grilled to perfection. Friendly staff. Waiter Aswell knows the menu by heart and makes very good suggestions. Staff like this Aswell are hard to find.

Don't order the baby hake! Ours were rotten. I bit into mine, and the stench was horrific. I find it hard to believe that the "chefs" missed it. We had a pregnant lady in our party, and we're grateful she didn't order it. Shockingly, the baby hake was on our bill, and we had to ask them to remove it. I wouldn't step foot in this branch again.

Only 3 occupied tables yet our prawns looked like and tasted as if the had been under a griller for 10 to 15 minutes. The flesh if the prawns was actually brown. Chips as a result tasted like oven baked chips. Overall a bad experience.

Went today for the 3rd time in 3 weeks. The snoek was incredibly delicious. Friendly staff from the manager to the chef(s). Special thank you to Bongi and Priscilla for your attentiveness and the compassionate way you explained the menu options to my mother. I will be back!

We tried to dine in. We were 3 people, asked for a table, we were ignored. We sat down at a table after we asked for the second time. We waited for about 15 minutes, no one came to ask us if we wanted anything to drink or if we are ready to order. We called the restaurant from inside, the girl answered, I explained that we were sitting at table 7 and need some assistance. She looked me straight in the eyes and walked away without a word. Restaurant was more than half empty. We stood up and left.

Food was bad, calamari like rubber, bread rolls were hard as a rock, cucumber in salad was wilt, children playing in play area made such a noise that we couldn't hear each other.

The new menu comes with a lot of bad changes in the food quality, flavour and portion sizes. We have been frequenting Ocean Basket for many years and we left very disappointed after eating. Additionally, the service was extremely slow and there were very few diners

Worst ocean basket we've ever had dinner at. The Sushi's rice was like rubber and the only answer the manageress Tristen had. We've got a lot off trainers gearing up for the busy season. Admitting the rice was overcooked and like rubber. She can't exchange it, because they had no other rice ready. Still serving it to other customers. Asked us the full price and waiters laughing about the whole experience. Please get a new manager and sort out your waiters as they are unprofessional and running your business. Asking the manager for the owners number. She refused. Pathetic to say the least.

Where do I start- order a salmon salad as a starter. When it arrived it was 5 index finger sizes with Avo. Probably a small fist size if so much. When I asked why it looks different to the photo we were treated very badly. We had this before and this was definitely not what it looks like on the picture. And that for R125. We ordered mains but again the waitress was rude and did not even apologize. We then cancelled the whole order where we could hear the staff complaining and having a-lot to say. We just paid for wine and left. What a disappointing experience. They will never see us again.

Did not even eat as we were seated and ordered drinks that took 20 minutes to arrive. No menus given and then asked what we would like to eat. Paid the bill for the drinks and left. Staff didn’t seem to be bothered. And the restaurant was not even busy.

Very friendly staff great atmosphere since ive walked in ,food are delicious and of true value for money. You've got to love the papa's prawns.

Absolutely pathetic service and food horrid. Rather eat somewhere else. We waited 15 minutes for someone to realise we were waiting for a seat, then waited an hour for our food, which arrived ice cold. Never going there again, I give them 6 months before the doors close, people have better choices, they need to pull up their sox.

I was worried about the 1star reviews but service was great! Our food came quite quickly and the waitress was very attentive. The food was deleecious!

Service was really bad. Waited more than an hour for our food and the place wasn't even busy,probably like 3 other tables were taken. Then on top of it we still found a hair in our food. Never going there again.

Waited at the door for a very long time, only after complaining did we get seated. People who arrived after us had their food before us. So sorry I did not go to Pannaroti instead, where service is always top notch. This was my first time in 5 years at ocean basket, but will not be back.

The food was great and service was acceptable. We ordered sushi and prawns and it did take a little long to prepare, but it was worth the wait. Takeaways can be ordered and if on Discovery Vitality you can receive cash back on some meal options. The restaurant is wheelchair friendly and has seating both inside and outside. It has no internal restrooms so the mall's restrooms need to be used. No kiddies play area.

Today we went to OB for lunch and had sushi and fish. Sushi was fine we also had a fish meal and sad to say the fish still had a lot of scales on. We informed our waiter dilin who said he will take it up with the manager on duty and obviously took the pan. We sat there waiting nothing happened manager didn't come to us and the waiter said nothing further. We paid and left. Really not the type of customer service anyone deserves.

Had fish bites that weren't cleaned properly. Had scales on. The waiter came to take the plate from us and never came back with a response. I still had chips and some fish bites in the plate. No effort was made to rectify the mistake
