A great alternative to all the fast food options in the area. This sandwich shop has delicious vegetarian options, burgers, salads, and more! What’s even better, is they also have super delicious, freshly made smoothies for every taste and craving, including protein smoothies, wheatgrass smoothies, peanut butter and banana smoothies! Worth the visit, and not too expensive either. Oh, and it’s sooo beautifully decorated with plants - great for sitting and watching the traffic go by while enjoying a delicious, healthy lunch.

Not impressed at all. I'm going to go on a bit of a rant here. But that's only because I can see the potential of the place but is frustrated that things are so dire. It really breaks my heart that a long-standing establishment like this had to deteriorate to this point. But I feel like I need to get this off my chest, so here it is... My husband and I went to get lunch at The Sandwich shop on a warm Tuesday for the first time. Not knowing what to expect, we went in with minds open and tummies empty. Right from the start things were a bit sad. All the staff members (probably 4 or 5) were gathered behind the counter where the sandwiches are made so we went all the way there. Nobody even looked up or acknowledged our existence at first but then a lady came to the till. She simply said: "Yes? What would you like?" With no further sale or assistance. We chose our sandwiches and my husband ordered a smoothie (which was terrible btw. It tasted like the bananas were overripe or something). The other lady proceeded to make the sandwiches but used the wrong bread for my husband's sandwich (he ordered white but she was using brown). After completing the sandwich, she realised her mistake and simply took all the toppings as she already placed them and moved it all over to the white bread as is. I have to point out that my husband asked for extra peri-peri sauce and I ordered sweet-chili sauce. So we paid and went back to work. But, here comes the part I'm unhappy about, as I bit into my (the brown bread) sandwich, my mouth was immediately on fire. So we thought that perhaps she put the peri-peri sauce on the wrong sandwich. This was ok though because we both ordered the same toppings and we could simply swap with each other, which we did. So, my husband took the brown breaded sandwich and I took the white. But, biting into the white breaded sandwich, again my mouth was on fire. It seems like both sandwiches had peri-peri sauce on which is not what we ordered (I can't stand hot food at all btw). So... my husband calls the shop and explains the situation. The lady on the phone said that they will deliver us the correct sandwich but we must keep the incorrectly made sandwich so we can swap them out (we already took a bite out of it as mentioned before, which he mentioned to her, but she said that it's fine). Now, we accepted this and I waited patiently for my sandwich to come. It arrived 2 HOURS later! The delivery man had no answers when I asked him why it took so long and he didn't take the half-eaten, incorrectly made sandwich, as the lady on the phone asked us to do. Now, I'm very confused about why things happened the way they did as they were not difficult orders at all and our place of work is not very far from the Sandwich shop. I don't think we will be ordering from there again. I just wish I could understand what happened because then at least I can give the place another try. But all the drama not only caused me to go very hungry but it cost me over R110 (2 sandwiches and a smoothie) which was a complete waste of money. Sorry to the owners for writing this, but someone had to say something.

Absolutely Pathetic service! I work 6 minutes from your shop. I ordered my Sub over 2 hours ago! All that the lady (Gale-Manager) who answers the phone can say is: "I'm sorry sir, I will tell the driver to come." Absolutely pathetic! A 2 hour time frame and no results.

Good price for fresh and great tasting food & coffee. Would have given 5 stars if you knew what 'VEGAN' meant and offered a Vegan option or two on your menu.

Still love the place.it has been there for a few years now. Stable business. The sandwiches and subs are freshly prepared in front of your eyes.they even have hamburgers too and a section that can make smoothies with fresh fruits you as customer picks yourself.big variety of sandwiches and subs.the staff is very friendly and polite.they do table service and has a disability entrance.they can even deliver your freshly made product.nicely situated in centre of town.

Either badly trained or very poor manners. There is zero Proffenialism in that shop. Manager Debbie can do zero except say sorry perhaps you should find a diffrent place to use. That's after waiting an hour and getting the wrong order.

She has never treated myself or anyone of our staff with Decency! I don’t mind what diet people prefer but we should RESPECT our differences! I DO NOT EAT MEAT so I ORDER plantbased meals. I also can only eat restricted foods.This woman ALWAYS attacks me over the phone when I send incorrect orders back because I refuse to pay and eat the orders that Contain meat (I make sure when placing the order that it is vegetarian option) SHE places incorrect orders twice and makes you pay for her mistake and the new order placed all together , the cherry on top of all is straight after she sends another incorrect meal and I need to pay AGAIN for the same mistake . Food and money wasted! Unfortunately these kind of people don’t care about respecting fellow people’s beliefs. Definitely a disappointment. My last order was requested with no pasta only salad. This is what I received

They are know for their good sandwiches but their juices, smoothies and salads are also to die for. I also love all the plants and the flowers on the tables. A lot of little details that just adds to feel of the place. What a great little spot.

I order every few weeks at The Sandwich shop. Always the same order. An Avo salad, asking specifically to leave the bacon because I do not eat bacon. So they always leave the bacon, but either forget the croutons OR the feta OR the avo. Where as on the menu it states Avo Salad (includes avo, bacon, feta & croutons) Most of the time no substitute is given in the bacon's place and missing ingredients, but I still pay the same price. I ordered my salad today, asking again for the bacon to be removed and replaced with extra feta. The salad came and yes, there was no bacon which was great, but not only did they NOT replace the bacon with extra feta, the salad all together did not have any feta in it. I understand that these things happen once in a while, maybe in rush hour, but it happens to me every time I order. I will add that The Sandwich Shop did however try to turn the situation around at the end by giving me a another salad for free, with feta this time. For that I am grateful. I can only hope that this does not happen again.

What a lifesaver for a family worth three teenage boys. Great menu, great food, which was finished before I could take a picture. Coffee is a definite here.

Ordered a platter but the communication was terrible- I have ordered in the past admittedly 2 years back and always enjoyed the sandwich platters but this platter was horrible- tasteless,fillings have been halved. R310 and it was much less than previous and bland. I have bought over 20 platters over the years but this was really horrible- Only the tuna sandwiches were as great as always.
