👍 A beautiful young botanical garden that has had alot of start up effort put into it. There are still sections were alot of new plants are planted. Many benches and rest spots. Toilets available in the entrance area. And some paths are wheelchair friendly. It is still a fairly newer botanical garden... A beautiful young botanical garden that has had alot of start up effort put into it. There are still sections were alot of new plants are planted. Many benches and rest spots. Toilets available in the entrance area. And some paths are wheelchair friendly. It is still a fairly newer botanical garden but there are alot of different growing trees, flowers and shrubs etc. to see, and a great presence of birds (even in winter when I went). One thing that stood out is that dogs are allowed on this property. And it seems management have ensured there are multiple poop scoop stations. Despite this were were still some irresponsible dog owners who have left the feaces of their pets unattended. Dogs are only allowed in certain areas. A very affordable R20 entrance. Great picnic spots too. For an additional entrance fee you can also go and see the Birds of Prey rehab center, an enclosed park within the botanical garden.

Nice place to go for a walk or picnic. Dogs allowed. Entrance fee charged at gate. There is a tea garden, bird of prey sanctuary and nursery at the gardens as well. Tea garden and nursery is accessible without having to pay entrance fee. Lots of parking. Nursery and resident notanist very helpful to give advice on indigenous plants. Sometimes there are live concerts in the park.

Beautiful nature experience. Only @ R20 pp. Had a beautiful 2 hour walk with my fiance, taking loads of beautiful pictures, meeting very kind & helpful staff and breathing in the freshest mountain air.

Stunning walk around the gardens. Joined in the parkrun as a walker and then spent time afterward meandering through the garden itself. Absolutely stunning!

I'm disappointed...expecting much more... At least the bathroom facilities were clean and well kept.. As for the rest, we did not enjoy the experience and were left dissatisfied and a bit disappointed.

Very scenic, has a lot of bird life. Very nice for a relaxing walk in nature if you want to escape for awhile. The restaurant serves very good coffee. And you can bring your dog's here as long as they are on lead.

The picnic area and the fact thatdogs are allowed is a great plus. The view of the mountains is truly beautiful. The bird hide is also in a great spot.

Absolutely gorgeous! The view over the water was breathtaking. We sat on a bench eating our McDonald's takeout and just enjoyed the view. The bird life is abundant and there's beautiful flowers and plants everywhere. They also have restrooms and a nice green patch of grass for having a picnic or playing some ball. Very relaxing outing and only R20 pp to enter.

We went to the Birds of Prey Rehabilitation Centre. The payment for entrance was sketchy and the grounds were very muddy after all the rainy days. The young man who was our guide is very knowledgeable, has a great sense of humor and is passionate about this cause. The birds vary depending on rehabilitation but some residents are permanent because of injury. A worthy cause to support and gain more knowledge about indigenous raptors. The Gardens are beautiful, but were a little flooded. Some sections were too bogged down to walk in, like the Mushroom Meander. It is a wonderfully relaxing place. If you keep your eyes open you see all sorts of precious things.

Loved seeing the lush place and returning for a night expedition with the challenge of spotting creatures. My only wish is that others visiting would show respect by not shouting and yelping so much to disturb the wildlife.

Medium size park. Few visitors. Not free. The parks has a lot of good ideas to preserve different types of local trees. Needs improvement.

What an amazing venue to visit. All nature, fresh air and freedom to roam about outdoors. Was very nice walking the medicine wheel and learning what plants are good for what ailments. The bird watch was also a treat even though we only spotted two birds.

An wonderful park with lots of nature, great for dog walks and picnics. I would recommend supporting the park as they are the host to the weekly park run along with being an excellent safe escape into nature for the George residents and visitors.

There is a great restaurant nearby, you can also visit the endangered birds with a tour guide. The parks are open for your dog, bird watching can also be done. All the support goes for a very good cause. Ample parking also. And very safe.

Beautiful place to take a walk or take your dog on a lead for a walk in the peaceful and lush gardens. The backdrop of the Outeniqua mountains is spectacular. The medicine mound is informative and the entry fee is fair. There is also a birdwatching area, toilets onsite, and a nice tea garden next door.

The Singapore Botanical Garden, a Masterpiece well structured, perfectly maintained, educational and enjoyable! Doesn’t matter how often you go!! Established in 1859 and growing since than it is with 82 hectares, located in the heart of the city, one of our ‘green lungs’. It became an UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2014. It’s full of beautiful laid walkways, rest areas, Theme Gardens, exhibitions, educational areas, lakes a music Pavilion and most famous the National Orchid Garden.

The gardens has many name-plates, attached to the plants, which explain geographic spread of the plants in the African continent, the uses of the trees for various purposes and also the early traditional uses by indigenous inhabitants and early settlers. A fascinating area named the medicine wheel, is a preservation space for trees and plants used for ages as herbs to cure a myriad of ailments and used for other purposes as well. Next to the nursery area sprawls a dense forest, which is still work - in development. It is cross- crossed by walking trails that reveal a variety of vegetation, especially trees, shrubs and flowers. The ground is moist and the humid air is punctuated by pleasant scents from the vegetation. A great effort is made to keep the place alive and pleasant.

Beautiful. There should be doggy poo bags provided in the R 20pp entrance fee. It is a wonderful place to enjoy with our four legged friends and one of few were they can run freely at the top section of the park.
