Picturesque is putting it mildly. Tidal pool with warm water is a must. St Blaize trail gives you sea as far as the eye can see. Zipline over the ocean plus a quaint little aquarium where you can literally swim with sharks. Lots of little snack shacks and some restaurants to top it off.

Visited the Cape St Blaize in Mossel Bay with family members. We opted for the lighthouse tour for R70 per person. The experience was absolutely lovely. They could invest in building handle for people to support themselves with when climbing up the stairs. Also, they need to improve on communication with customers. We called the office to ask for more info about the lighthouse. The receptionist answered and had to drop the call soon after picking up. She told us she'd get back to us, but never did. Other than that, this is an absolutely great place to visit if you're in Mossel Bay. It is quite the historical entity.

Really great service. Although they offer a limited menu, it is really tasty. We had a slice of the moist delicious Carrot cake and a breakfast croissant (egg & bacon). They serve the speciality coffee, Truth, which is delicious. Will definitely return and also recommend. An amazing view so weather permitting, outside seating is a real treat.

What a view! Friendly staff, special atmosphere. Coffee is great! You would want to stay there for hours. Menu available. Minimum parking. Can go up the lighthouse.

A small entrance fee gets you a free cappuccino, Portuguese Beer or a cool drink! Yummy cheese plate and 2 glasses of wine with this view!

This was a lovely experience to visit. The lighthouse is full of interesting historical merit, and very well kept. Exceptional views which sometimes spoil with dolphins or whales in the bay. There is a little restaurant on site. Be sure to ask to see their interesting coffee machine!

Always a delightful visit to this historic icon in the lovely Mossel Bay. Good quality food and coffee, attentive staff, but they are very busy. You can take a tour up the lighthouse tower for a nominal fee. Amazing photo opportunities and beautiful views. Parking is limited, but do take the trouble to go, even if you park at the bottom of Montague street and walk along the dirt road to the tower.

What an amazing experience. The owner is very passionate about the history of the lighthouse and was very informative. The breakfast was delicious and value for money. They have great coffee and cake and also offer wine with a cheese or meat platters. This is the best view over the entire Mossel Bay and the wild ocean. Definitely worth the visit and will return.

Finally visited the Cape St Blaize lighthouse after a long wait. The experience and view from the top were amazing. Unfortunately, the wooden ladders provided for people to climb to the top did not have handles to support people to climb onto the next platform.

An incredible experience with one of if not the most incredible views of Mossel Bay. There are hidden gems, but this is a diamond. I recommend booking ahead of time during the high season.

Amazing view with friendly and quick service. The manager/owner also chatted with the patrons and shared some amazing stories while we enjoyed lovely food with an excellent view. It's definitely a place I will visit every time I go to Mosselbay.

Good coffee, and the cake was fresh. I went for a tour of the lighthouse, which is still in use! There are no tour guides - just a brief introduction & a warning about the steep climb up to the light, which was interesting to see. The view from up there is phenomenal 😍

Great view, Platter for 2 very light snacks, but nice. Definitely nice to go and have a coffee or red espresso and the carrot cake was divine.

An iconic and historical part of Mossel Bay since 1864. Revamped to what you experience today. Breathtaking view and an absolute pleasure to visit. Staff are quick and friendly, food is delicious and the establishment is very clean. Marius is a great host and is well equipped with this historical knowledge of his establishment. Be sure to pay it a visit, it's worth it!

Climbed up there the wrong way then walked up the path the right way next day. A good historical site to visit to remind us of the dangers of ships to close to shore. Very interesting building overlooking a vast area of the Mossel Bay area. A bit difficult for elderly people to get to but with some patience it is achievable. A must see on your visit to Mossel Bay.

This is an amazing place to visit with amazing views and a walking trail with easy walking taking you high up the mountain side with a beautiful sea view. You will also see the Lighthouse and a Beautiful Cave of Human Origins.

Beautiful views of the bay below. The lighthouse was nice although we did not go up so don't know if it's free. There is a picnic table for a quick snack and some information on other lighthouses in south Africa that are interesting should you be interested in lighthouses. At this point you can join the cliff trail that comes from the beach area but it is not well kept the path you need to walk to get to it, so be cautious. We saw some little animals that were very cute. Overall a nice place to visit for free.

  • 5/5 Janine du P. 4 years ago on Google
I am only giving them 5stars due to the fact that the lighthouse itself is amazing. The staff was not there in the middle of the day and would've loved to climb right to the top. I think they would've made a few bucks from us as we were prepared to pay a few bucks to go up in the lighthouse. History books are amazing to see and well looked after in there, view from up there is breathtaking.

We did not stop to view the lighthouse, did the 13.7km walk. This is a breath taking journey all along the edge. Important: Take water, rest often as this does not seems challenging but is after all.

Amazing view to see. Not wheelchair/pram or baby friendly. The stairs are very steep to go up the tower and only able bodied people should go. Nothing else there though.

It has a lighthouse, natural pools, a zip line, we saw several Dassies and breathtaking landscapes. The day was very sunny and helped a lot in the beauty of the place and the photos! What an amazing experience . Such friendly people and amazing location. The views are simply spectacular and the chocolate cake is the best we've ever had ( no joke ). Cappucinno are brewed to perfection. Climbing up to the light is a must to see the ocean like you've never seen it before . The St. Blaze trail is also something to do to view the caves . All in all we had a great experience .

What a beautiful view. The higher up the path you go the better the view gets. From the top you can watch the brave people going down the Zip line over the waves below. If the thrilling climb is not for you then there is a local restaurant where you can get some delicious foods or maybe a dip in the tidal pool is your kind of thing… either way, this is a great place to spend some time in the sun.

YOU CAN NOT CLIMB TO THE TOP!!! To get to the lighthouse you need to take the road around. You can take beautiful picture and you can climb the lighthouse all the way to the top..... at a cost of 50 bucks... which is ridiculous!!! You can get nice pictures from the sitting area just fine. The parking is a bit small and at an angle. I've seen people putting rocks behind their car's wheel just to be sure it doesn't roll off the hill.

It is not only a lighthouse… it is although a Restaurant… my wife wanted to have a candle light dinner at the restaurant and therefore we visited that location in the morning. But the Staff welcomed us „extremely unfriendly“ - this is a Restaurant - order Breakfast - or … not said .. leave us… we left and had chosen an other Location for a very delicious dinner. Respect or customers… if they eat something or not… but not here… so sad… as the Location is beautiful

You do not have to only visit St Blaze for the lighthouse. You can have a great breakfast or luck have something hot or cold to drink. Going up the lighthouse is an added bonus especially for the view

This was one of my favourite experiences of Mossel Bay. Walking towards the lighthouse there were so many dassies relaxing in the sun. On arriving we were offered to go up the lighthouse, such an awesome experience! Coming down we and sitting at the restaurant, we had a glass of wine and watched the dolphins jumping in the waves. The owners are amazing!

It was the cotton candy strokes on canvas, inked up paper and blushing romantics. 10/10 would recommend watching the sunset from Cape st. Blaize lighthouse in Mosselbay whilst sipping on a glass of wine. Be sure to check out their restaurant and accommodation packages for your next trip to this lovely harbour town.👌

The lighthouse tour cost R70 and comes with a drink of your choice from a selection. The view from the top is absolutely magnificent.Unfortunately, we did not see any whales, but they are commonly seen in the area, especially around this time of year. The attached restaurant is also gorgeous. The road leading up to it is a bit tight but there's a good amount of space to turn around at the top. Definitely a must see in Mossel Bay.

A bit hard to navigate to via Google Maps. You have to go into town and then up the pathway in Montagu road. However once you get there it's a great place for an amazing coffee and spectacular view. If you're lucky you might even spot a whale
