Overrated. Not sure how I missed the fact that this is mostly a gravel road...whoops. My family was not impressed with the bumpy, dusty ride. Some sections run through native forest, but much of it is through pastureland, farmland, and tree plantations, some of which have been clearcut. A pleasant enough drive for those who have the time, but nothing epic. Sorta wish I'd taken the N2 instead.

Lovely dirty road off the beaten path. Turn off your car and listen to the silence! Beautiful nature just make sure your car is fit for dirt roads.

Beautiful scenic drive through the back roads and although there are some gravel roads you can drive with any car. Stop at the rustic totties coffee shop along the way for a nice cup of coffee and something small to eat and cross some of the old historic bridges. I would highly recommend it. You can take the drive from George all the way to Knysna if you have some time or you can start your journey from Wilderness or Sedgefield if you want.

Only complete part of the drive but the scenery is truely beautiful. The gravel road can a bit rough at times and other vehicles not to courteous. Unless driving a 4x4 these passes should not be attempted when it has rained. Still a beautiful drive, definitely worth the views.

Beautiful area to hike, cycle or drive through. Lots of greenery and the hills and valleys have to be experienced personally to appreciate to the fullest. At certain points a majestic view of Knysna and the lagoon also waits to take your breath away.

Road is closed by Nelson Nandela university due to flood damage (Sink Hole). I had to take a U turn and go all the way back and take another road to get to George. Scenic and Relaxing drive

I never tire of this route. So much to see and a short drive and one feels like you're miles and miles from civilization.

A very enjoyable drive with some lovely views. Well worth a couple of hours of your time. The route is a mix of tarred and dirt roads, so be prepared to take your time on some sections if you don't have a 4x4.
