The 7 Passes Road did not disappoint. With a few really beautiful bridges, this one was our favorite. Any car can drive this road, but we did it in a Suzuki Jimny.

To see and know that a bridge was made that many years ago and is still strong and stable is a work of art. Feels like your experiencing history.

Beautiful old bridge. Peaceful setting. Strong structure that is over 100 years old. Well maintained.

Just lovely. In the Passes, it is nestled at the bottom of the kloof where the sun battles to reach. It was part of the old road between George and Knysna. The scenery is breathtaking!

Seven passes trail is one of the most beautiful roads to include in your to do list when visiting the western cape. It's a 27 km trip though forests and most awesome nature scenery. It's also a great place for photography with the Kaaimans River as location as the water appears black but is cristal clear.

There are two bridges to park next to, the one closest to Saasveld university you can walk along the Kaaimans river (there are lots of litter) not sure about safety. Judging from the candles and litter there seems to be people staying late at night. The road is permanently being “repaired” After the last flood many sections of the road still require drastic attention, sadly it doesn’t seem to be a high priority from the local municipality.

Great river walk down the Kaaimans (from behind Wilderness on road to Saasveld). Organise a group and take half day to complete.

The road from Wilderness to George is well maintained and easy to navigate. It is slightly deserted (a car during the day probably every 10min), so ensure that you would be able to walk a short diatance to ensure you have proper cellphone signal in case of a breakdown.

Nice bridge where you can take a relaxing swim if you dare. There is a foot path on the one side which leads directly to river access. Swimming in the cold black water is refreshing as well as slightly creepy. If you are driving through to Wilderness from George this is a much more scenic route that won't take too much extra time.
