Very small and not a big variety marine life. However enjoyed the sharks and experienced friendly service.

can't put zero stars but one star describes how the female owner is in person because we were rolling on our skateboards and got off to swim, and she went and called security and cops on us for just trying to go swim on a hot day, and she threatened to lock us up if we came back

A little aquarium... hidden like a starfish in the rocks. You should check it out though. Its affordable and the money goes towards food for the rescue sea creatures.

Although it's small, I think this place is worth the visit. Fishes are well taken care of and you will get a friendly welcome. I like how they are not just about entertainment.

An absolute rip off. Not worth it. R400 for the shark encounter is ludicrous. They tell you how great it all is and then you come into this dark hole of leaking tanks, hardly any fish and 2 lonely sharks swimming in a boring small tank waiting to die.

I couldn't believe that they asked money for this. 5 tanks and the 🦈 tank with 2 sharks in it. Very disappointed. Don't waist your time and money.

Had a lovely stroll through the aquarium. There is a small amount of fish, but it's still worthwhile. There are jaws/skeletal remains to be seen as well as tropical and local fish, an intellectual 8-tentacled creature and a shark or two. You can swim with the sharks too. 🦈 There is an entry fee and a seperate fee for swimming with the sharks. Just remember to not tap or touch the glass.🚫

It was my daughter's 13th birthday on 27th Dec. My in-laws took them to the aquarium. The father in law asked the lady at the counter whether our 10 year old pays full price. She was not kind about the question at all and virtually shouted at my father in law with an ugly face and bad body language. "What are you saying? Yes!" He was shocked that she could be so ugly just because he asked the question. After she was so rude he decided he will not go in with my mother in law and the kids and asked to rather have his R40 back. The lady then said. "Take your money and go" and gave back all our money and said that my mother in law and kids were not allowed in. She then proceeded to explain to another light skin man how wrong they were, when they actually just asked a question. The man still tried to tell her it was'nt necessary to carry on like that. She just carried on. My in-laws are of colour, and I feel she would not have been so rude if they were white. I am a white male and am disgusted at how cruel this incident was infront of my children, especially on my daughters birthday. I will not recommend this place to anyone and was fuming when I heard of the treatment of my in-laws and children at this establishment. Would give zero star rating but unfortunately have to select 1 star to get the review loaded.

This aquarium is small and cosy with a few fish tanks, an octopus open tank and a big tank with two smooth hound sharks. You can get into the water with the sharks. This is an unique experience that everyone can safely do. The owners are conservationists with a wealth of knowledge ready to share in their friendly welcoming way.

You haven't visited Mossel Bay if you have not pay The Point a visit. Pop in at The Shark Lab, the mini Aquarium situated at the well known Mossel Bay Point. The staff are friendly, but the work they do mustn't be underestimated. Wheelchair accessible and very accommodated. Schools and parents can organize trips for the children to pay a them a visit and be well educated on sharks. It's a fun activity to do as a family and let the young ones learn and watch the staff be hands on with the sharks.

Goodness what a dissappointment. Dirty, smelly and wet floors. Probably leaking tanks. Nothing to see here besides the thought of who is rescuing who? Defnitely looks like the fish needs to be released. Dont go, you will be wasting your money R40 per person. FYI the one and only shark doesnt have teeth, so we were told??

They are working hard to come back to normal after the terrible damage they had from the huge waves. It is great to see the passion from the community to get them back on their feet. My grandson absolutely loved the experience.

Very small, but nice for the kids to see, they even have a tank with "Nemo and Dory". Was great to see some sharks up close and the bigger tank had some nice creatures, including an octupus which my kids absolutely loved.

It is good if you like the ocean and the things that live in it. The displays are thorough, just make sure to take your reading glasses with you as there is a lot of material to study.

There are about 5 fish and 1 octopus? That's it .Entrance fee was R30 but when I wanted to pay by card I was told that the minimum payment by card is R50 .So I had to make a donation of R20 on top of my entrance fee . When I asked what the money will be used for the lady said it's for the rehab of the octopus? This place is a total rip off . Not worth it at all and there are almost no fish in this place . Very disappointed

  • 1/5 Mia S. 2 years ago on Google
Ladies bathrooms were absolutely gross, dirty no toilet paper, 3 toilets out of order only 1 working, haven't been cleaned because apparently there is no time, shouldn't it be prioritized what with Covid and hygiene so crucial all the time?

  • 4/5 Louis Van den B. 2 years ago on Google
Truly a mini aquarium. Has a very limited variety. However they help rescue fish as well

  • 1/5 Natanael L. 1 year ago on Google
What a rip-off. Paid R 160 for less then 15minutes. There is nothing to see as the facilities is in poor condition. I am all for conservation but this one is a waste of money and the 3 Sharks should be released the small enclosure . You will waste your money.

  • 5/5 Ingo Le R. 2 years ago on Google
It is very small and very wet there. It is very good if you want to swim with the 2 sharks there. I think with a bit more funding they can make a very nice attraction there. Is is worth the R30 to go in and walk around.

As a lab, it maybe functions. But I found it quite sad experience to see the sharks in a small tank. No doubt, the staff takes good care of all the animals, but the overall experience was🤔

  • 1/5 Jensen M. 1 year ago on Google
worst experience every R40 for absolutely nothing no sharks only a photo copy of a shark stuck on a window water flowing out of the tanks were your supposed to walk in total there are about 4 fish in the aquarium not even R10 worth!

  • 4/5 Raafieq “Mr Samie” S. 10 months ago on Google
Been there a few years back, and, honestly, I just feel that the Price you paying, IS WELL WORTH IT. I mean, it's not a Great White, but really, where else you gona be THAT CLOSE to a Shark, for the amount they asking... Compare that to Shark Cage diving, I bet most of us are running just at the thort of the costs involved. BOTTOM LINE, It's an experience. As an adult, I thoroughly enjoyed seeing the sharks, that close. Wudv loved to have gotten in the tank tho, but, I guess, another visit is needed then. CAPE TOWN ain't near from Mosselbay hey...lol

My expectations started rather low... After all, entry was only R30 and it's primarily a research facility... But really they could have tried a little harder. Yes there's a tank with sharks and it's big enough to take a dunk with them... That will set you back R300 by the way... The rest? There's one pool with some fish, and about 5 tanks, each with 2 or 3 fish in it. So even with low expectations to start with... They managed to disappoint.

  • 4/5 Jacques B. 3 years ago on Google
The lady gave a good intro speech, but the aquarium is really small only exciting thing there was the two sharks. Like it said in the name "mini". Not worth driving there just for the aquarium but if your there might as well give it a go.

Conservation is the shark lab's primary goal. Smallish venue but taken care for with love and passion trying to make it as stress free for fish. Owner is friendly and well informed. Well worth a visit to be reminded of the beauty of nature

  • 3/5 Jeanne B. 5 years ago on Google
I somehow was expecting more. But maybe it's fine for kids to visit. I've been to many aquarium's but cant say I'd go back again. The tank where u swim with the sharks is so small. You cant actually swim with them. You literally get in this oval sort of shaped tank and these little sharks swim around you. Very little room to do anything except stand there.

  • 2/5 Chris A. 5 years ago on Google
The owner/operator was very casual and easy going. You were not pressured into going into the tank until you felt comfortable and ready. The interaction with the sharks was a disappointment as they appeared to be a bit shy and approached one out of curiosity rather than wanting to interact.

Very educational and wonderful to see people so enthusiastic about their field. My children were horrified to hear how some ignorant kids had harmed the octopus and other little creatures. We are so glad to know you do such amazing work. My daughter wanted to go into the tank with the Sharks however she only got as far as getting her feet wet and had a change of heart. Everyone was very patient and kind to her and offered for her to return a couple of days later.

  • 5/5 Mariska J. 3 years ago on Google
Mini Aquarium but mostly dedicated to rescue sea life at the hands of cruel and naughty children as well as ignorant adults. Lots of love and care goes into the place and all the animals are loved.
