A 3 star resort???? What a miserable filthy place… First, they never replied our mails. Chalet was not clean. The towel, bedlinen and pillows were smelly. Stained filthy duvet. The furniture and bathroom needs to be upgraded. Moldy shower. The cutlery still sticky and not clean. Got only 1 towel for a 2days stay for the two of us. They always promised to bring us extra what didn’t happen. The lady at the reception not friendly at all. Our worst stay in 3 months self-catering in SA!!

The option of camping outdoors, without really going camping. Safe and secure, with self servicing chalets that surround the huge camping area in the centre. Amenities for the campers, as well as a swimming pool and small playground for the kids. Driving distance from a garage and a centre with restaurants and shops will make your stay comfortable. Would love to visit again!

We stayed at this resort for one night during the December 2023 holidays for one night. The campsite is clean. The bathrooms never have toilet paper or hand wash soap. And no braai facilities were available. Considering that we stayed at Gariep Forever resort with many amenities for R750 per night, as well as the Berg River Resort in Paarl (also with many amenities as well as the river view) for under R750 per night, I feel that this R840 per night was quite expensive. Especially considering that no toilet paper or hand wash soap is supplied.

Beautiful manicured camping spots, clean chalets, bathrooms, and friendly staff! Our favorite thing is the nature! You wouldn't go wrong booking here. Good value for money is very important for us as budget travelers and this is what we found in George Country Resort. Piet & Lola and all the other staff are great at the reception and management. Highly recommend

Comfortable and clean. Hosts are helpful and friendly. Some heating would be appreciated in rainy and cold weather! I love the sheep and springbuck roaming between the challets.

Wonderful, peaceful and very beautiful Resort. The chalets are very comfortable & has all the basic homey goods like pots, kettle, stove, utensils, wardrobes etc. The wildlife makes it even more beautiful with peacocks roaming free. Braai area too. Great service & friendly staff. Loved it.

I have had the great pleasure to visit this resort a couple of times per year. The people are so incredibly lovely. It's always well looked after. It feels like a second home sometimes. I can with confidence say that it is worth it πŸ’

In 2 weeks we had a total of 4 days of hot water, noise levels at camp sites are disturbing and at 1 am we were told not their problem! No braai facilities in camp area at all, unfriendly unhelpful office staff, dirty showers and toilets with no toilet paper, surprised to note they are rated 3 stars. Animals roaming around is nice though and the only positive we encountered.

Facilities not that great, no proper braai facility on the camp site. Bathrooms and shower very small and not very clean. High noise levels by other visitors which made it unpleasant.

Beautiful peaceful neat place with Springbucks and a few sheep grazing on the grass underneath big shaded trees. Can recommend it unconditionally.

George country resort was a total disaster 1) they gave us the wrong number stand and 5 days later they expected us to move. 2) out of the 14 days we were there we only had 5 days of warm water. 3) bathrooms are EXTREMELY dirty! Used baby diapers in the baths and people washing their dishes in the bathroom 4) owners did absolutely nothing about the noise. People played their music until 2am

Very noisy and uncomfortable stay. Why so many chickens? They make noise from very early in the morning so you'll definitely won't get proper rest! All the other animals are a nice touch but remove your chickens..they def. don't make your resort "Country". Overall the places are old and everything inside is massively worn out. Definitely not a 3 star ⭐ place and for the cost of staying here for 2 people per night, it's not worth it as one can find a 3 star ⭐ Hotel with breakfast incl. for similar price. Renovation is desperately needed here.

Park full of permanent campers, whole place full of duck and chicken feaces, not suitable as a caravan resort. High prices and no toilet paper.

This is a old fashioned trailer park with lots of permeant residents but its quiet peaceful and lots of farm animals like chicken sheep and ducks walking around which adds to the tranquility of the place. Thiers is even a large firmly of spring buck roaming the site . Further more the ablustion blocks are clean shop on the site works well and its very close to the mall , no luxery but just a good overnight place

Centrally located in the George area. Well kept camping grounds with spacious caravan sites. They also provide long term camping sites.

We arrived on Saturday. We had to wait 3 days till Monday till they finally put a bin on our stand (we had asked multiple times since shortly after our arrival). The grass was long when we arrived, they only cut it on Thursday Worst was the ablutions. The nearest ablutions to our stand were filthy and had no hot water. The only working/clean ablutions were all the way on the other side of the camp grounds

It was a very nice holiday, the children enjoyed the playground, there could maybe be 1 more trampoline. The bathrooms was far to walk to, but always clean. For rainy days we had to take our washing to a laundromat, because the resort has 5 washing machines but only 1 dryer. And it is expensive.

It’s an average overnight self catering. Not too clean but ok. Struggled to get decoder to work but eventually it did. Blankets were smelly but we only used duvet and brought own pillows. Ok for one night.

On arrival I was informed that they do not have a booking under my name. This booking was made through lekke slaap, months in advance. I had to prove we had booked a chalet. Luckily I keep screenshots of all emails. This was after a telefone confirmation a week ago. We were then moved to a smaller open plan chalet. The dihes and cutlery was filthy. Also many items on inventory list was missing. At least we had a place to stay.

Our first close encounter with these lions... it was pretty cool. The facility could do with a renovation to make it look more aesthetically pleasing and comfortable. All in all a good experience.

Unpleasant experience staying here again. The chalet was in a bad condition (Moldy, Cold, Dirty & Smelly) inside. Had to ask for a bed replacement as the old bed was so worn, the springs were literally bended in half. The worst part of the stay despite the constant noise there, was the racist energy from your black staff staring & mumbling stuff everyday. It's clear they don't like white people much and it's seems they are in a comfort zone there everyday looking very busy only when the owner is around. No wonder the place has deteriorated so much. Never again! There's many other decent options available in and around George. ** As expected, you would come up with excuses denying all, but there are multiple/similar reviews (Justifying my review) about the condition of this place and how rude your staff can be. In regards to the black racism, this is indeed what was experienced. Ofcourse they will deny all when you question them. It's 2023. Things have changed in SA. It's better that you keep an eye out for these things so other guest won't have to encounter the same no matter their race. What you need is strong management to manage this place/staff better and fix the conserns that guests point out otherwise this place will deteriorate further and will become very unpleasant to stay at.

We absolutely loved our camping vacation here. Such a friendly environment with fellow campers greeting and chatting like old neighbors. It was clean, always had hot water, staff were friendly, they collected garbage daily and it was so nice to see the springbuck grazing next to you, especially the babies. Was the ideal base for us to explore all the beaches, the small towns, the forest and the mountain. Already making plans to go back.
