Stayed two nights...clean fresh linen, genuine friendly host and hostess with a friendly and kind house lady. Hot showers and decent system.

VERY comfortable for a backpackers. Had a lovely stay. A good spot for when you need a place to sleep when adventuring elsewhere around George.

This place is very convenient and run by a very caring woman. It made me feel at home in a new town and their rooms are very clean. It only misses just having small TV's in the rooms than I will give it a five star

It is a 24/7 This place is self-catering. It is located at 5 St Johnson Street, George. There are ample parking and wheelchair parking. There are Covid-19 protocols in place and observed. Both private rooms and dormitories are availabe. Both cash and card payments are accepted. The staff is professiona and friendly. I spend one night there. The place was clean and tidy.

I have worked in hospitality for 6 years. This place is much better than your average backpackers. Firstly it was spotless- hotel standard cleanliness. It has a very homely atmosphere and the energy of this place is extremely peaceful. I paid R250 for a dorm bed and the owner was aware that i was attending a course for my studies. He was gracious enough to put me in my own room where I could study in peace. The room had everything needed and the bed was exremely comfortable. I slept for 11 hours and I generally only sleep for 4 hours in places unknown to me. I would highly highly recommend this accommodation. Also the owner has been involved in the rotary club for many years and truly has served the community. Need I say more? Book now.

The hosts are wonderful, very friendly and welcoming. The house is clean and has touches of old furniture and ornaments that makes you feel like you're visiting your gran... I love it. My only problem is that there are only 2 bathrooms but still kept clean.

They are so accomidating we were there to do a course and our stay was comfortable and affordable thank you so much guys we will be back and will def recommend you

We stayed at the hostel for around 4 nights, two 20 year old Canadians. The staff are really helpful the window was broken in our room making it a little cold but they kept asking us if it was ok, we had like 2 separate people find us and ask if the room was ok. Out of all the hostels I’ve stayed at the washrooms and shared kitchens were very clean. I’d give it a perfect 5 stars however the carpet was decently dirty in our room. It’s the perfect place to stay if you’re 18-26 years old and traveling. As a young woman I felt safe both in the hostel and in the area it’s located.

Great place, clean, covid conscious and very friendly staff could not get it over my heart to tell them the mattress i had was a bit over soft otherwise a great stay

Real value for money spent.... We arrived at 22:30 and was welcomed by the host, Martin, who we kept updated how far we were from reaching George.... We would definitely recommend a stay at George Backpackers....

Nellie was a lovely lady who was very accommodating and helpful. It was a very good price, it was nice and clean, and the beds were rather comfy. A really nice stop on our journey. Highly recommended. Thank you!!
