Lovely village pub with outdoor seating and dining. Traditional bar. Good food. Great decaf coffee at the George and Dragon, Speldhurst. Friday mornings, you get free pastries with your coffee or tea!

Quite expensive considering the portions of food were small. Children's portions were a decent size, however chips were served, instead of the advertised mashed potatoes, on one of the meals.

Amazing!! This place has got so much history. We absolutely love the atmosphere in this pub. Very often we pop in for a pint of ale or beer. Staff are well-trained, relaxed and very friendly. The manager Richard is very cool! He is pleasant, professional and very down to earth. Highly recommend this place!

We dropped in for lunch. It’s a lovely old pub, loads of character. We both really enjoyed the food, the beer was good, there was a lovely warm welcome and we sat in the sunny garden with our dog. What could beat all that?

We had a celebration dinner for 20 people last night and the G&D were exemplary!! The food was absolutely delicious, the staff couldn’t have done more and our night was perfect. We were reserved an area outside for drinks then went upstairs to a private area for dinner. The table looked gorgeous. Thank you to all the staff who made our night perfect!

This is one of the best pubs I randomly popped in. We had a day of climbing in Harrison’s Rocks and having a dinner in the pub was the great ending of the day. Delicious starter, main dish and dessert, reasonably sized and very filling. Friendly staff and serving was prompt. Will definitely come for a dinner again when back in the area.

Went for a drink Tuesday evening. My companion had a burger which was nice although found the £18 a little more expensive than necessary - I’d had a burger the previous evening in Southborough for £18:50, so seems to be the average price around here. I guess times are changing and it will be like going back to the 70’s & 80’s for me - when people only ate out for special occasions. It was enjoyable sitting outside, there are heaters, lights & outdoor speakers. Ideal for plane spotters like me if the planes are inbound to Gatwick flying overhead. Nice staff & atmosphere. Haven’t been for years and I’ll try not to leave it so long next time as it’s very pleasant.

Had our first pub meal as a married couple here. Food was extraordinary! Very large servings that I was stuffed and my partner couldn't finish hers, but the quality was immense. We went for the vegetarian roast with cauliflower cheese and the fish and chips. Highly recommended. Only annoyance was lack of parking, but the staff opened up another parking spot for us, so no big deal.

We booked the George and Dragon for a Christmas lunch after having come here once for the most delicious Sunday roast. Our 2 year old son woke up on Christmas morning vomiting which led us to having to cancel our trip from London to the George and Dragon. Richard, the manager, could not have been more incredible. He offered us a refund or voucher to return which we did so this weekend and I cannot fault the food and incredible staff here. It really is top quality. Everything from the produce, the exceptional cuisine and attention to detail on everything from decor to customer experience. Despite coming with two toddlers, the staff did not bat an eyelid at the spills and mess caused and did everything in their power to give us an incredible day. If you are wondering whether to go to the pub or not JUST GO. You won't regret it! It's one of the special places you will return to again and again.

Went yesterday as we saw they had a singer in the garden Ben Hills. Great singer.... anyway... Beautiful pub. Great service and really really good food. Definitely going back. They also have a fire inside for the winter. Lovely little find for us. The owner even made a special effort to come and welcome us..

First time back following the refit. Garden is looking much better, much more outside space. Staff were friendly and helpful. I didn't eat but what I was able to see passing me looked good! I'll be popping back soon to try out the food!

Great, friendly staff. Visited this placed over Christmas on multiple occasions as I was staying with family in the area. We were warmly welcomed for drinks every time. In Particular The bar manager Dan was particularly attentive and was always extremely busy helping us and other guests have a good stay. Good selection of Whiskeys as well!! Unfortunately didn't get around to sampling the food, but looked very good from what I could see on other people's tables. I look forward to returning soon!

Beautiful pub with top quality food by an amazing chef and very friendly and helpful staff. Took my parents here for a birthday meal and they surprised us so nicely by writing 'Happy Birthday' in fancy chocolate writing on the plates. Such a lovely detail. Highly recommended. My parents said they will be returning with friends to try out the famous Sunday roasts!

First time visiting the G&D and it honestly felt like we had been locals in there for years! We felt so welcomed by our server Tess and Richard. The food was lovely and great value. Will definitely be returning and supporting another beautiful village pub.

Visited with my husband, parents and baby for a family dinner while staying in the local area for a wedding. The staff were so welcoming and attentive, food was excellent and atmosphere was great, lively without being crowded. Wish this was our local!! Hope to see G&D team again!

Beautiful 13th century building pub that has maintained the original look & feel. The food was amazing (had the porchetta and apple & plum crumble). The fireplaces dotted around the interior are a wonderful piece of ambiance. On top of this the service was incredibly friendly and helpful, they even prepped a surprise sausage for the dog!

People need to know about this burger!!! It's hands down the best in Tunbridge Wells, by far! I've been coming to the George for years and feel like now they've nailed the perfect burger (and truffle chips!) Great beer garden too:)

This was a great visit. The staff were really great, friendly & not flustered with a full pub. Food was tasty & there was a couple of vegetarian options which were good

This pub is a real gem, lovely inside decor and to match it has a great outside garden. The food has been excellent every-time we have been. The staff are brilliant too.

Great country pub. Really nice and helpful staff. We went for Sunday Roast, and it was delicious with a generous portion. Dog friendly inside and out. We were visiting the area, so prices were higher than we expected. However, we all agreed that the experience, quality of food and size of portion were worth it and we enjoyed our time there during a busy Sunday afternoon. We hope to visit again soon.

Lovely friendly pub serving great food. We attended a 50th birthday dinner and despite us being a large group of 29, and the pub being very busy in the restaurant downstairs, both the food and service received was excellent! Beautiful building/lovely menu and warm, inviting atmosphere.

My partner took me here for my birthday on Friday 25th November - we had a really lovely meal, the food was delicious and big in portions! The ribs in particular were good! The pub itself is beautiful with old beams and a lovely fireplace, very warming and welcoming! The staff were very friendly and attentive including the manager/owner. I will definitely be coming back, a lovely hidden gem!

One of the best places for Sunday Roast around Tunbridge Wells, we ordered a mixed one and all three meats were super tender and delicious, even the pork loin! The sticky toffee pudding is delicious as well. Good portions, great service, great food. I will definitely come back and try the rest of the menu.

Lovely old pub and restaurant. Beautiful building with so much history, and fantastic staff. I think the food let it down this time, there really wasn't much veg food unless I wanted a burger (always in every menu right now). I had gnocchi and it was so cheesy and overwhelming. I was hoping for something fresh and exciting. Lovely experience but think I'll go for drinks next time.

Lovely Sunday lunch today in the beautiful, peaceful garden. Big portions. Plenty of parking. Top notch elderflower mocktails. Happy, attentive staff. Worth walking off lunch opposite in the churchyard - there is an amazing yew tree. Thanks we will be back.

This pub is off the scale in terms of atmosphere and its history. One of the top 10 in the whole of England. We were blown away by every aspect of the rich interior with real fires 'aglow' A young vibrant enthusiastic team of bar and food staff very well mannered well presented and loving their role in customer service. I wish I lived next door.
