Lovely Sunday roast with such friendly and wholesome bar staff. Definitely recommend if you’re in the mood for a relaxed and yummy Sunday meal.

What a wonderful hidden gem, a quaint little pub, with so many alcoves and nooks of olden times to be found. Comfy seating, sofas around a open fireplace, and great outside seating too. Plus the added bogarts lounge upstairs too. Our first time here and certainly won't be our last. Very friendly,welcoming place to be.

Great pub. Friendly staff, had a really nice atmosphere. Not been in for about 10 years. Real mix of ages, everyone getting on well. Not louder as the night progressed with the in-house dj doing his thing. Will definitely go back. Drinks Not too badly priced either.

The George is one of the last traditional family run pubs in Hitchin with two cosy charming fireplaces. They also do an amazing Sunday roast! The pub is very dog friendly and welcoming we love it here

Been in twice this week, once for a casual drink when it was quiet and received lovely service from the day staff. Went in again on the more crowded Friday night and got the sane excellency care, served quickly and treated really well

A decent pub in the heart of Hitchin. Good friendly atmosphere and nice bar staff. I went there on a Friday and they had a DJ playing indie classics.

Had not been to the George for a long time has changed a bit. But for the better a great pub friendly reasonable prices will definitely be returning.

Went out on the 17th October for drinks and just wanted to say how good the security was, one of them made sure I got home safe and stayed with me until my Uber got there, just a little thing but makes me as a woman feel safe and wanted to say Thankyou

Lovely pub, the roast dinner was incredible and great for the kids they even got a free pudding. Amazing Customer service. Looking forward to making it our new Sunday treat!

Lively place on the Saturday night we visited. A bit tight but more room upstairs later on. Good fun.

Lovely cosy pub with a fire going last Sunday. Had an amazing roast with all the trimmings, even mash, and I liked how you can choose your portion size. Huge gravy boat too! My fiance had beef and I had gammon, making sure I left room for chocolate fudge cake and ice cream. All delicious and friendly service. We will definitely be back!

We went to the George on Saturday lunchtime. Fantastic friendly welcome from Mickey and Darren. A great cosy pub with an open fire. We really enjoyed our chats with them and some delicious vegan burgers. Thanks - we'll be back!

Extremely rude staff. Was very rude when asking and checking IDs, I understand that checking ID’s is needed when someone looks under 25 but there is no need to be rude. Staff obviously like the power of being rude and checking them as the staff member scratched my ID multiple times even after it was proved it was real. They should think twice about treating customers better as I will never be returning. In response to your reply i would like to state that i was not rude at all to your staff, even when they were rude to us I still was not rude to them. Your reply just highlights the same level of rudeness.
