Staff often unfriendly. Used to be a great vibe when Summer and the team were there. Also used to have a great quiz night with a fun quizmaster but pub management seems to have taken over this themselves and it has lost its vibe. Not for us anymore. Edit: Pub banned us from quiz for winning too often, in their own words 'to give other teams a chance to win' then, because we questioned it, made up some vague cheating claims that had never been brought up before (and were false)

Nice food, at a reasonable price. Have been a few times but recently the atmosphere has changed. Seems quiet and cold. Noticed a change in managements attitude towards customer satisfaction. Management less happy to resolve any issues we had

Pet/Dog friendly local pub in Beckenham high street. Good quality of food. Battered fish is freshly done. Staff are polite and service is good. Clean and they have an outside seating.

Really lovely pub and super friendly staff. The food was really delicious and the bartender went out of her way to celebrate one of the parties birthdays. Highly recommended and dog friendly.

Would have been 5 but reduced menu on mother's day, annoying, plus 1 out of the 3 who served us initially was moody and didn't listen. Other ladies made up for it! Good burger, recommend the P.I.G burger

The Manageress was awful, in my opinion ,I would strongly suggest retraining in conflict awareness and courtesy. That there were four people in the pub at 20:15 hours on a Saturday when England were playing rugby says it all. Abby was very helpful and friendly. Not a pleasant experience, and I shall definitely not be returning

Came in for some food and a pint. Staff were friendly and the pub itself was nice enough. I just don’t understand why some places bother serving food, if all they can muster is some dry, frozen burger that looked and tasted like it came straight from Iceland. I had to dig deep to find traces of the signature burger sauce, spoiler alert, it was just plain old burger sauce from a squeeze bottle, wheezing it’s last splatterings onto our soggy buns. What a sad experience and waste of money. If you have low expectations when it comes to gastronomic experiences, I highly recommend. The beer was lovely.

Incredible night tonight, Whitney Houston tribute act was fantastic! Couldn’t have asked for a better atmosphere! Big well done to the staff, it was manic but they handled it so well! Definitely will be coming back!

It's a beer garden! It's quiet big and it has seats! Nothing else to really say 🤷‍♂️

It’s been a while since I visited this pub, possibly about 30 years ago, when I worked at Barclays Registrars up the road. I was glad to see this pub is still here. It seemed a bit lighter than it used to be, but that’s a good thing. Beer was good and I would have liked to stayed a bit longer.

Glad to see full selection of beers back (since my last visit which was CV19), But importantly, they can pour a good Guinness

Great drink selection and great service. When I ate here on a weekday the choice was a bit limited and the food wasn't exceptional - fish&chips, fried chicken etc but it wasn't bad.

Despite being a frequent visitor to Beckenham over many years, this was my first visit to The George Inn. I should have visited it sooner. Very pleasant staff, 4 real ales to choose from, and a CAMRA discount. I went for the Harvey's Best, not expecting anything great as I don't think it travels all that well. However, this was the best pint I've had outside Lewes, where Harvey's Brewery dominates the local brewing industry there (honourable mentions to the Beak and Abyss breweries). The pub was fairly quiet when I visited (Saturday afternoon), but there were a few regulars, and in time, these were joined by more customers. The pub has a large outside seating area, and inside, it's a clean and spacious traditional style pub. I didn't eat, but a quick look at the menu revealed varied choices, so I will be back for a Sunday lunch soon with my family. The pub also puts on entertainers for its customers. I spied an advert for a George Michael tribute act when I was there. Overall, it is a very pleasant place to spend an hour or so and enjoy a pint or two.

Very quiet during week days, will have to try weekends. I think the whole high street is quiet during the week. Barmaid a bit too enthusiastic when cleaning and collecting glasses, think she want to get off early.

Absolutely adore this pub, a star attraction of Beckenham! Have been coming here for years with friends for drinks after work as well as for family lunches. The manager and staff are so friendly and make for a fantastic experience every visit!

We didn't eat there but we had a few drinks and the bar staff were very friendly. The only thing I'd change is that I'd love a decent cider on tap to go with the great range of beers!

Amazing experience once again at the George. The food was delicious and our waitress, Summer, was sublime. If I could give 7 stars for service, I absolutely would. Another win for the George!

We've been to The George twice recently since the pandemic and we've had a great time both times. Summer, a member of the bar staff here, has always made us feel so welcome. The team here is great and the selection of drinks is good too. We'll be back again for sure!

George is a friendly pub normally offering good food . Have had occasions when no chef was available & worth phoning in advance to confirm & reserve a table .

Had the chicken burger, delicious one of the best chicken burgers I’ve had. Perfect size and combination of ingredients and the service was great. Food came out so quickly! Definitely recommend and will go again!

Emily is the best person to ever work in Beckenham. I went to the George inn on Tuesday evening - quiet you may say? WRONG…Emily transformed their beer garden into IBIZA haven. Thanks for the great service and special shots - 5* all the way!

Prompt service from a very happy and bubbly server. Cocktails were great. Only downside was that we wanted food and they were out of stock on nearly everything.. very odd. Could be due to jubilee weekend. Highly recommend.

I rarely share reviews, but this pub, is absolutely perfect. An amazing experience so different but still respecting the heritage of the old George. Good wine selection, live music and look forward to many more wonderful evenings. Staff are fun and welcoming. Tony and Russell x Thank-You

Our burgers were very tasty and fresh. Faultless. On a warm sunny day the outside area is very popular. Still has character, good choice of real ales and staff that are quality - cheerful, helpful and efficient. Improvements since 2020 have increased the capacity (inside and out) whilst not impacting on service or feeling of space - the fabric of the building incl roof etc was renewed too. In fact its all much better - signs say it was founded in 1674 and it ought to have a few more decades (centuries?) left in it yet!

Tom, Emily, Lorraine, Dan and Isabelle. Are all top bar staff, had the best night because of them!

Friendly staff in a lovely historic pub. A two level beer garden outside with lots of room to enjoy your drink and food. Inside is quite cosy with tables and beaches to relax in. The Guinness was good and the Timothy Taylor Landlord was fine but maybe a bit cold and hazy.

The staff are so welcoming and friendly. They remember your favourite drinks and if you do the Wednesday quiz they throw in tasty snacks too! My favourite Beckenham pub.
