Had a wonderful birthday for my friend and we were allowed to bring my little dog. The food was excellent as well as the service from staff. I would highly recommend 👌

This is my favourite place to eat locally. Delicious food, the sharing platters are a taste sensation. We took some friends last time who were very impressed too. They offer a comprehensive menu & a nice wine list. Steak 👌Service too is great, one of the younger waitresses came over last time & was genuinely interested in what the food we’d chosen was like.. rather than the standard “how’s the food” because they’ve been told to ask. Best to book

Wonderful country pub, full of character and charm and incredible food and drink. The portions are so generous and the menu is extensive, with options for vegans, vegetarians and meat eaters alike. Lovely staff - Leah and the team were so attentive and friendly, never rushed us and always had a smile on their faces. Would highly recommend!

Called in on spec for lunch on a Thursday. Greeting was pleasant and efficient and we were quickly seated. Service was also pleasant if a little slow (they were not massively busy) and the food was very nice, hot and good portion sizes - obviously all home cooked to order too. Not the cheapest, but good value nevertheless. Would I come again? Yes, may well try an evening meal next time. Well worth a try if you haven't been before/for a while.

JUST AS I DIDNT THINK IT COULD GET ANY BETTER.. Oh my The George never fails to amaze us, the food is outstanding, presentations outstanding. Staff outstanding. Cleanliness outstanding. Atmosphere warm and welcoming. Just as I didn't think they could exceed anymore, today I had lamb cutlets of the specials board omg they blew me away the taste tenderness and flavours that came through were just amazing. Best meal I've ever had. Thankyou…

Great place for food and to take the whole family. Food is freshly made and not the basic pub menu. Kids menu is a good sized portion and the same quantity, can't recommend enough.

Lovely Sunday lunch at the George. The food is always consistently good. The only downside was that the pub was packed and we were seated in the bar area which was very noisy and no privacy. We asked to be seated at another table and once one became available we moved - much better. We will know in future to request a table in the restaurant

My family and I haven't been to the george in a while as our last visit was quite dissapointing. However, things seem to be back on track now, and the food was back to being tasty whilst not leaving you emptying your wallet. I had the steak and ale cobbler for a main and it was very tasty but the cobbler was really dry and took all the moisture out of the dish making it hard to finish sadly. My dessert was amazing though- ginger toffee pudding and icecream was so so good and such a good portion to. I was beaten by it! Service was friendly but I think more staff are needed as the bar was left empty alot as the people working served food or took orders. Also didn't ask for drinks when providing dessert menu despite our glasses being empty. I think the layouts odd too- the large table was put my more intimate seats so all the noise from a big party of people washed over us on our smaller one! Made it hard to hear. The ladies also need some tlc- cracked tiles, lamps with flys trapped in, and a toilet that had the remains of the last visitor- maybe need a cleaning rota put in? Just small touches now I think and they'll be perfect again!

Christmas in a pub! The community feel in this pub is like no other. Always a friendly welcome and brilliant service. The mulled wine is the best around and gets you right in the Christmas sprit. Get yourself in this pub to share in the festivities!

Have driven past many times but this time decided to call in on the off chance of eating there. So glad we did. Plenty of car parking spaces. Very nice place and Staff very accommodating. We were seated straight away, and then efficiently and pleasantly served by all Staff, who are clearly well trained, which was a pleasure to deal with. Food was excellent. Couldn't fault it at all. Will definitely go again.

This is by far my best pub locally for food (I'm from Markfield) would book there every time without a doubt. Lovely food , lovely people, really clean and always popular. What is also very important, they hold on to their staff and treat them well. Hence, same lovely staff for a few years I've been going .highly recommend.

A lovely evening was spent here on a Saturday in a group of six. The first observations were that there was plenty of parking and several groupd of people sitting outside were enjoying the sunshine, food and drinks. We sat inside and were entertained by the staff who were friendly and engaging. The choice of drinks was great so we all had exactly what we wanted. The menu, too, was varied, and the food was excellent - the desserts particularly enjoyed. The staff were flexible in the adjustments that my fellow diners wanted from the menu. If I'm up that way again I will certainly return to the George.

A lovely surprise, not just the normal pub grub, much better at a similar price. Food was excellent and the staff helpful and obliging. I would recommend you give it a try.

Delicious Sunday Roast, lovely environment. The roast beef was divine, the Yorkshire puddings so lovely too.

Lovely pub with a great selection of food and drinks. The staff are attentive and pleasant. Gluten free options are available, but you may have to ask for substitutions or to see the allergen guide, as there isn't a GF menu and gluten isn't listed on the standard menu. The staff are happy to advise on allergens though.

We had a fantastic meal at The George, the food, service, and atmosphere was exactly what you would want in a village pub. Warm and inviting with lovely staff. We were here for my Mum’s 70th birthday and all 13 of us had delicious food. We will certainly be back again and again and can not recommend The George highly enough

I was served by a young woman whose name was Elisha and honestly I have nothing but compliments for her. She genuinely was the most kind hearted waitress I’ve ever encountered. If only every single waitress was like her it would make every dining experience amazing. Food was outstanding to say the least but most importantly this particular waitress deserves a pay rise!!

Went on Saturday lunch with my 3 daughters, so of course atmosphere was good. But the staff were very friendly, efficient and professional. Really enjoyed the food. We ate from the "normal" menu, "specials" menu and "lighter" menu and everything was delicious and well presented. Excellent value for money. Will certainly return

Lovely old pub with great views. Warm and inviting, good beers and wines. Ordered a panini as we had dinner booked for early evening, but had a good view of many different dishes, they all looked good and plentiful. The desserts were particularly good. Staff were happy, talkative and attentive. We'll be visiting again when we next go up there.
