Nice food, but they are very stingy with the vegetables - half a carrot, half a parsnip, four Brussels Sprouts and five halves of roast potatoes which were lovely, but left me wanting more - I always think of a Sunday roast as more of a loaded plate kind of affair. The (very tender) pork loin came with a lovely strip of crackling - the potatoes were very crispy and were accompanied by a very large Yorkshire pudding. Great gravy on the top. My friend's beef was a little bit tougher, but still went down well. No lamb option. At about £20 a main dish, it isn't cheap - I've had better at this price level, but it was enjoyable; I could have done with a bit more on the plate, that's all.

Since being under new ownership I’ve been sad about dining here as it’s my local. The menu is now really overpriced, offering a lot more unhealthy food and in significantly smaller portions. We were a table of 6 a few weeks ago bringing our Greek relatives here for lunch and it was incredibly disappointing. We’d pop in here for a mid-week dinner regularly as we both work long hours but now only come for drinks - such a shame that the food is so poor - the seafood platter that had been on the previous menu was delicious and great for sharing but this one has little seafood in it, is greasy, small and overpriced.

Great as a local. Lovely lounge-like feel inside. Food was really good, but service was very slow, apparently due to a misunderstanding. The sharing 'day-boat' is recommended, the steak too went down well.

This is a hidden gem! Great food and a wide drinks selection on the tap, too. Highly recommend this place if you’re visiting Marble Hill and Orleans House.

Excellent food. A favourite for us and it's definitely upped its game with the food and the service was great. Our steaks and steak and ale pie were all pronounced delicious and the lemon posset is definitely a personal favourite from now on!

Pretty reliable place to take friends and family to eat. Good for special occasions. It can be a bit noisy and difficult to find a quiet spot. Also, the bar will not let you open a tab even if you’re eating there. That’s very poor.

Good pub, good food, really long list of wines in the menu. Just wish tables in the bar area were cleaner.

We really like this place - there’s a great selection of beers, the staff are friendly and the pub has a lovely atmosphere. We have tried a small amount of the food which has been very nice. It is very dog friendly and there is a small car park which is very convenient too! The only (very minuscule) issue we have is that when ordering on the app the tables aren’t numbered which makes things tricky.

Old fashioned style decor, and was very nice. Chill atomoshere and waiters were very nice. Food was good and portions were big enough. Slightly pricey. Sardines in the starters was average. Recommended dishes: Haddock and chips

Regular visitor myself but also take friends and family, they always comment on the atmosphere and great food. In winter the inside is cozy and in summer the garden is great. The best pub for me.

We enjoyed our meal here and service was good, but the main dining room is so incredibly loud when it gets busy, we couldn’t hear each other across the table.. the room could do with some more soft furnishings/carpets etc to try and dampen some of the noise and echo! If we ate here again we would request to sit in the pub area and not in the dining room.

The atmosphere here is spot on . Staff are very welcoming. Food is good though perhaps if I had to be picky …. Then I’d say please drain the onion rings and make sure there’s actually enough onion in the ring 🤭. We will be back as I’m not basing my experience on an onion ring . There are other just as tasty but healthier options 🙂 Do go you won’t be disappointed !

We’ve become frequent customers of this wonderful gastro pub since moving to Twickenham in July. The food is always consistently excellent and the service so friendly. The outdoors is stunning on a summers day, the indoors cozy now Autumn has arrived. Always lots of lovely doggies who are looked after with water bowls and treats. Also I lost a very expensive hat there last night and it was safely put away ready for my collection today - it shows a rare quality of honesty and customer service excellent. Thank you.

We were regulars at The Crown before the sale to Young’s but have fallen out of love with it. This was a return to see how an event like a Burns Night might bring us back to greater use. It remains a work in progress. Perhaps it is no more than the fact that such a superb operation - as it was - can’t be replicated by a large chain more focussed on economies of scale. There was nothing wrong with evening but nothing special about it either.

What a gem! I had the mushroom gnocchi - it was so delicious!! My partner had the fish and chips, which he praised, and we shared padron peppers and cheesy cauliflower. Everything was very tasty and with generous portions. Great staff and beautiful design on the inside. Highly recommend and will definitely come back soon.

A great choice a lunch. Very good food (including generous portion size) and good ambience and service at reasonable prices. Also dog friendly. A range of vegan choices for lunch and main dishes, although a few more always welcome.

Fantastic service in a beautiful dining room. I've always liked The Crown but on this occasion the food was not up to the high standard of my previous visits (last visit roughly a year ago). Wild mushroom and truffle gnocchi was not very flavourful. Chicken Kiev not very garlicy. If you describe chips as triple cooked then they should be great but these were average at best. Those who had the sausage and mash said it was great though, in particular they raved about the gravy. Not bad food at all, just not like it had been in the past. I didn't get the servers names but they were very efficient and friendly. Food arrived in good time and all together.

Always a great place to eat. Really friendly and efficient staff.-they go above and beyond . It is an old pub with lots of atmosphere. Roasts are legendary. Good hearty food and excellent wine selection. You never feel rushed- relaxing and super dog friendly. One of my favourite places to go. Youngs at their best

Lovely pub. Had a house special, Mussels. Good size portion, maybe just not in season so not very juicy or big but the taste was good. Their melted cheese was yummy and their sticky toffee pudding was good too. Would go back again for sure.

Loved this pub, so old school, very unique with quite several gluten free options on a menu. We ordered burgers and one was made with a gluten free bun, they can also serve gluten free bread when ordering soups. Very pleasantly surprised!

Lovely interior, cozy fireplace, comfortable sofas and amazing food and wine. Spacious room for all your friends and excellent service. Will highly recommend.

Love this pub restaurant. Good service and quality, robust food. Lunch today saw our party have gnocchi (delicious, with chestnuts) while others had the sausages and mash. Gorgeous, as was the truffled cauliflower cheese gratin. Followed by a beautiful sticky toffee pud, and an apple crumble. The wine list is extensive with great choice, and the service and atmosphere is welcoming. Not surprising it's busy. We keep on making excuses to come back for more...

Were told that they expect children to remain seated, quietly, in the garden, at 5:30pm, on mothers day. Happy to attract families by offering a children's menu, but not tolerating their presence once in. Cannot decide if it is a pub or a restaurant, tries to be both. Food OK, but not as good as it was on my last couple of visits. I have been going here for over 15 years but won't be coming back this year at least as there are plenty of local pubs that are very welcoming to families with better food.

Lunch was superb. We were in the main restaurant and the setting is beautiful. Must have been a stunning old house in olden days!! Also a very pretty courtyard garden to the side. Parking facility.

Hired the private dining room at the Crown for my 60th birthday. It was a huge success. The room is lovely, the staff extremely helpful and the food delicious. We didn't want to leave at the end of the evening. Thank you to everyone involved at the pub - including our waitress Rachel - in making my birthday very special.

Really friendly staff. The garden is spacious and inviting. Will definitely visit again. The only reason I haven't given 5 stars is because I haven't eaten in there....... Yet.

I had a lovely work lunch this week. The staff were able to find a space outside in the sunshine. The service was great and you could see how proud they are with the refurb. Its a shame the Bang Bang Chicken has gone from the menu, but I am suspicious it will be back soon. The menu is a little pricey, but the food is worth it.

The Crown is a great pub but the food has deteriorated. I was with a group of four. I had the calves liver and bacon. It was very dried out and had obviously been kept warm for ages. The fish and chips looked like the best bet. It looked really nice.

We had to wave to staff after waiting more than 30 mins waiting to take a food order and when we needed anything further we had to leave the table to find someone to serve us. The staff were friendly but it seemed they lacked training and/or experience and the restaurant may have been understaffed. No one seemed responsible to look after us.

Not sure what I can say that any others haven't. It is a great outdoor space with excellent food and great service. The fish and chips are GF and the best we have had in years.

Great food in a lovely atmosphere. We sat in the mature, but also well designed, garden. Staff were nice and also accommodating over food preferences.

I have been to the Crown for casual evening drinks while sitting outside in their nice garden a couple of times but never been there for lunchtime or dinner. I finally had a chance to book a table (advisable because I tried to turn up in a couple of occasions and they were always full) and had a fantastic dining experience! Food was fresh, tasty and presented beautifully, with great staff and excellent beer and wine selection. I am looking forward to going back

We went for dinner on Saturday evening, I did go in thinking it was going to be basic pub food but was pleasantly surprised at how good the food was how good the service was and how nice the decor was. The food was scrumptious,I had the crab cake to start & the pheasant breast for main both were excellent in taste & presentation. The staff were great, friendly & attentive. Everyone at my table had a great night, thank you we will be back soon.

First visit to The Crown on 24 July 2023 and what a lovely pub it is. Met a friend for lunch, service was great, food was very good and nice relaxed atmosphere. Dog friendly! On site parking. Looking forward to next opportunity to visit, highly recommend.

We had a lovely evening, the food was all delicious, the staff were great. Our drinks arrived immediately and we were then given time to reflect on the menu, perfect!

Excellent service from the staff. All run very smoothly for our table of 20 in private room. Only critic regarding food: some of our fish main wasn’t cooked properly and veg way too salty. The people who were served the chicken Kiev found it excellent. Overall good food.

Always lovely staff, gorgeous decor and atmosphere. Really helpful re: coeliac choices. Would love more vegan options and less meat/fish on menu and size of portion of fries and chips reduced by 30% hence 4 stars but rest is great, thank you.

We came here for a birthday lunch on a Friday, we were a large table of 16. We were seated very quickly, the table was all ready for us (we pre booked), a lovely atmosphere and building and the food came out in a really good time and came out all together - which was impressive for such a large party. Everyone was very happy with their food, the presentation was lovely and the portion size was good. We all only had main courses. There is parking onsite at the pub and is in a nice area of Twickenham All in all I would visit again the next time I'm in Twickenham.
