Popped into Red Lion without a reservation and got a table straight away. Had a lovely chicken and ham pie with mash! Was absolutely delicious and so filling! Had a mini pudding with a latte to finish off! Thoroughly enjoyed! Price was reasonable with the glass of wine I had too.

Visited on Sunday, and despite the weather, we decided on roasts. We sat in the lovely garden with beautifully laid tables. I had the Rib of Beef, and my husband had the Turkey. They were both perfectly cooked and so tasty. Our server was Michelle, who was welcoming, friendly, and polite, and although being very busy couldn’t have been more helpful. And all with a smile on her face. She even topped up the water bowl for the dogs!

The poached egg was overdone which was quickly replaced on the Salmon & Hollandaise Sauce with new potatoes and spinach which was lovely.

The best fish and chips. I was surprised how delicious it was. All the food is good but this was special. Staff are very friendly and helpful. They are happy, they smile. As a customer that's really nice. Nice furnishings inside. Homely and modern feel. Good wine list.

I normally don't eat pub food as quite a few country pubs I've eaten at has been poor quality. The family wanted to go here, 2 adults - 3 children. Ordered starters, mains and dessert and can honestly say it was very nice, everything we ordered even the vegan food was tasty. 2 then 3 staff looked after us even when there was a fully booked pub, inside and out. Couldn't fault any of it. Everything was tender and tasty. Hats off to them.

A lovely pub with great service: It's dogs friendly and has vegetarian, vegan, and gluten free dishes so it ticks many boxes. It has a nice selection of beers, a small range of ciders (there was only one on tap), but has a good range of spirits. We will surely come back to try some of the gins. We had the vegetarian Sunday roast (stilton, mushrooms, and spinach Wellington, roast potatoes, veggies and a Yorkshire Pudding) which was brilliant. Portion sizes are very generous as well!

I recently ate dinner here with friends (8 of us in total.) We had not booked and were not too hopeful given how busy the place looked. However, staff managed to find us a table and we all very much enjoyed our food. My wife and daughter are both coeliacs and we have to be extremely careful with eating out, as even a tiny amount of cross-contamination will make my daughter very sick. She was catered for very carefully, for which we were extremely grateful. Lovely atmosphere, staff were great. We'll be back!!

Popped in for a coffee Saturday morning as my car was in the garage, I have to say I received a lovely warm welcome. The music was really mellow and I actually switched off and felt completely relaxed for an entire hour which is really unusual for me. I only had a coffee but I will definitely be back for breakfast as it smelt amazing.

We luckily stopped here after picking pumpkins at nearby Copas farm one rainy Sunday. What a find, great reasonably priced food and friendly, helpful staff. We sat in the pub section, better served than in most restaurants! My husband was over the moon with his roast beef on the bone, my son gobbled up his kids meal and my gluten intolerance has never been so well catered for. I was able to pick from three GF beers, had special GF yorkshire puds on my roast plus a delicious GF Bakewell tart with custard to finish. I’m writing this beyond any potential reaction, say no more. Thank you to The Red Lion, we will be back!

Part of chain. Visited on a circular walk through local park. Refreshing beer and tapas stop. A starter and sweet from the menu, not a huge portion but did exactly what we wanted with some leg rest after nearly 8 miles. Large open garden area.

I've eaten here a few times and it never disappoints. Fresh food, well cooked and plenty of vegan and vegetarian options. Popped in on Sunday just for a drink after a walk in the nearby Virginia Water park. Good location for a pub. I'd recommend the vegan roast and coconut ice cream. For a main meal, plus a drink you can expect to pay between Β£15-Β£20. Nearer Β£20 if you choose any meat option.

Came here today on a recommendation from a friend and was not disappointed. Food was delicious, service was amazing it really felt like the staff were happy to be there and it reflected in the atmosphere. Although it was busy we never felt neglected and in turn we’ll recommend this pub to our friends. Can’t wait to visit again!

I've deleted a previous good review to replace with this one. I attended as part of a party of approx 15 guests. The pub does not have a bill splitting system once a discount is applied to the bill so customers had to individually work out how much they needed to pay. I mistakenly overpaid and requested the difference back, I was told by a young man to go to the till to collect the difference in cash. The elderly lady at the till was very rude and said I'd need to wait until every other guest had paid before I could collect a refund. I explained I was x number of months pregnant and I'd just really wanted to leave at the point as we'd been there for a few hours now, I was again told that I needed to wait until every other of the 15 or so guests had paid. Fortunately one of the other guests stepped in to help me but if it weren't for her, the pub would have made me wait until the last guest had paid to give me a refund. This pub is local to me and previously a lovely place where we've gone a number of other times but I'm less likely to return now given how humiliated I was made to feel. Really saddened by this visit and I really hope that if this lady is ever on the paying side of the till, someone else does not treat her the way she made me feel. A real shame.

The pub was good and felt that it’s a good place to have a meal once in a. While. Food was excellent and taste is nice as well, the staff were very friendly, attentive and polite. The menus were varied and had quite good options and found that price also reasonable. portion served also kind of reasonable. Presentation of food is ok. The one downside I could highlight is a bit on cleanliness which can be much more better

Fantastic service and the food was amazing, I ordered the Steak and Ale pie and it was the nicest pie I’ve had since I can remember. Highly recommended (we are northerners visiting)

Got a table straight away, without booking, on a Sunday night. The food was nice and a wide choice. Fully stocked. The service was attentive until the end where it did take quite a while to order dessert and then get the bill. But I understand how it’s hard to attend to everyone when it’s busy. I would recommend this pub :)

This is the first time I have had lunch out since before pandemic. There was a lovely atmosphere in the place and a good selection of food including a lunch menu. Staff were all attentive and welcoming.

Visited for lunch today - great food, great service, very friendly staff who work well as a team. Always a nice place to visit - judging by how busy it was today, it looks like a few other people have discovered this gem. Despite being busy, service was still excellent - keep up the good work 😁
