A most fine drinking emporium, plenty of choice from the keg and some cider on hand pumps for company. A simple but varied pub menu, good value. A very enjoyable drink.

This isn't my closest pub. There are many nearer ones which would be easier to get to. But, I persist in going to this establishment and will continue to do so because of the staff. They are some of the loveliest you will ever meet, ever friendly and engaging. From the moment I first came in, and every visit since, they have made me feel welcome, engaged with me and made me forget my troubles, if only for a little while. A charming atmosphere and wide array of drinks are but the cherry on top. Well worth a visit.

Thank you to all the staff at The Birds pub! We hired the function from for my son’s birthday party and you all made it very special. The room was set up perfectly, it was clean and decorated beautifully. The food was delicious and the timings were spot on. I cannot recommend this venue enough.

Great roast dinner, loads of meat - I had the lamb - and beautifully cooked. My only criticism of the food is that there was nothing green on the plate as trimmings were squash, carrots, potatoes, Yorkshire pud and white cabbage, but all were excellent and there was loads of lovely thick gravy- a boat load / gravy train if you will. My wife had the vegan Wellington- a bit annoyed there wasn't also a vegetarian version (I.e. with normal pastry round the edge) but she said it still tasted really good. Lots of atmosphere in the pub, friendly staff, loads of craft beers and relatively kid friendly, although no high chairs or changing facilities as far as I could see - so some improvement could be made there if the management are reading this! I try not to give 5 star reviews unless the place is really good, and so despite the criticisms above, this is definitely a 5 * pub!

Named after one of The Master's best films. He was born a few yards away at no 517. Great bar.

Horrendous service. Horrendous staff. Horrendous atmosphere. The manager is an awful man who is unbelievably rude. Do not book to use the event space it is dirty and unorganised and the staff are unhelpful and will not adhere to anything you agree to.

Really nice vegan pub, extensive menu, good garden and nice unique theme of “the birds” by Alfred Hitchcock. The vegan roast was delicious however it came out cold, but this was quickly rectified by the very friendly and apologetic staff. Would definitely come back.

👍🏾really cute date place. Cute section for some oldskool gamers. Halloumi burger was nice but really needs something else, was pretty dry and low on like any kind of taste. Like a chuntey/relish. Best thing we ordered were the dirty fries. They were banging! Service was lovely 🖤

We had a party in the upstairs of The Birds and were really impressed with the space and also how wonderfully accommodating the staff at the pub were. Staff were really supportive and friendly from the communication when booking all the way to collecting some of our belongings the next morning. The party food went down really well and we had a fantastic time. I would wholeheartedly recommend the venue if you were planning a party! Thank you to the team at The Birds! A big thank you to Aaleeyah and her colleague who were really helpful and great fun behind the bar!

A vegan friendly pub with 2 floors and a beer garden with covered areas. Good selection of beers and other drinks. As a vegan you are spoilt for choice with their food menu. Their are also one or two meat options if you are with friends who follow a meat eating diet. The service is great, the staff are really friendly, as are the locals, which makes it an overall great vibe. Will be popping in again for sure.

Great vegan options on the menu. Mac&cheese should not have been only like side. Garden is well covered and heated. We enjoyed our time and kind service. Just smokers was a bit disturbing. Do not come with baby at busy time!

£6.70 for a pint of non-alcoholic beer!! Absolute disgrace. It's their own brand too. Drink prices are always on the high end here but that's unbelievable. It was like a crèche when I visited too. Kids running all over the pub. With so much choice in the area I'll be frequenting other establishments in the future.

Great pub in Leytonstone. Good selection of craft ales. My fave being mango flavoured. Good atmosphere and some cracking tunes being played. Also had street fighter on arcade machine. Always a winner

They brought back the chicken wings. I attach a picture of them consumed, because wings like this need to be devoured rather than posed like a cheap tart and photographed. Laine beer pub, garden with heated booths and rustic feel. Menu is fantastic with many vegan options, although recently changed, they did have the most amazing vegan fish and chips and vegan chicken burger ever, I do hope they haven't changed the recipe.

Stopped in before a show to grab a couple of drinks with a friend.. The only thing I have to say about this, is that the staff don't do the rounds for table cleaning etc- if they did, they would have seen the pile of vomit that was on the floor by one of their dining tables. Luckily, my friend pointed this out to me, and whilst we had sat for our drinks- the time we were there, no staff members cleaned it up or collected any empty glasses. Needless to say, I won't be returning.

I think I went on a bad night but the last time I went to I felt the same. Has all the ingredients to be a good local, comfy interior, good selection of drinks, quiz night, board games and is lgbtq+ friendly. As you walk in lights are on brightly, bartenders are aloof and disinterested- I worked at a laines pub when I lived in Brighton and we were an amazing team of friends who really drove the vibe the place had! I really think this could be the same if some energy was put behind it.

Wonderful pub! Went for a Sunday walk around Leytonstone and this pub really helped make it a nice experience. Amazing building, good food, great atmosphere and the service was exceptional. Will have to come back and experience their menu on an ordinary weekday.

I was in London visiting a friend and the suggested a night out at The Birds. I wasn’t sure what to expect but was pleasantly suprised to find this gem with its great range of craft ales, delicious bbq food topped off with an ace quiz! Fab hospitality from Jacob really made our night. We will certainly be back

We had our wedding celebrant ceremony and reception at The Birds pub, it was absolutely fantastic! The team that helped on the day were brilliant, super friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them! And Harrison was great in the run up helping with planning. Thanks so much for a great day!

Visited on a Friday evening two or 3 weeks ago (tallish chap with a beard seemed to be duty manager); really enjoyed the vibe throughout, varied selection of pales and decent options for others. The two bar staff working were chatty and helpful. Everything spot on for me on this visit, thanks guys! 👌

Easy to find, the food was great, offered a wide range to suit all kinds of diets and the service was also very good. The function suite where I was for my brother's wedding reception had plenty of windows to allow it to be light and airy, also plenty big enough to hold all of the revellers!

Don't mind this pub for drinks, but the food had last night; two burgers and chips were sub-standard. The burgers (double cheeseburger and jackfruit) were small and buns cold. The chunky chips were raw and inedible, whilst the other medium cut were good. The number of chips to burger ratio is somewhat overwhelming. The cost of £14.50 for a small burger isn't good value compared to what's available elsewhere. I won't eat here again.

Not a one star only because we were given a refund and a genuine apology. The worst roast I’ve ever had. The ‘roasted’ carrots and parsnips were very clearly microwaved as well as the side of cauliflower cheese. Porchetta, is a rolled pork belly roast with crispy skin. This is what is advertised, it’s not what I received. Two slices of pan fried pork belly with almost raw skin. The beef was the same. The roast potatoes were new potatoes deep fried until inedibly crispy. Will not be returning. Good place for a drink, avoid the food.

Excellent pub with really great team working there - super friendly and helpful. My son hired the upstairs room for a joint birthday party and it was a great evening. All of the bar staff were so helpful and friendly. Thoroughly recommend the Birds as a pub or for private hire.

Good vegan brunch and was able to add on some bacon and pouch eggs to suit for my non vegan needs. Good service and pretty good food too. One star off as there were only 3 main brunch options so I’m looking forward to coming back to try the Sunday roast and lunch options

One of my favourite pubs in East London, fantastic food with great vegan options, good for families during the day and proper drinking during the night. We had our wedding reception here and they could not have been more accommodating. Update: visited on a Friday lunchtime and extremely disappointed they weren't serving any vegan food whatsoever, even though it was advertised on their website and even on the menus on the tables. Really hope this isn't a sign of a great pub on the downturn after a change in management earlier this year.

First time in The bird and YOU have to go! It’s a great pub with amazing food. The ribs are to die for. The service we received was so amazing and we will definitely be back again. They made us feel welcome and gave us an amazing experience. Shout out to the chef and manager for helping us with our order requirements.

Came here for a friends birthday. Service was great, food was great and the manager was great. We had a requirements and extra needs due to the group I was with, however the manager ( I believe called Jacob?) was wonderful and accommodated us ensuring we had a fab evening. Would recommend. Such a lovely atmosphere!!! Thank you ⭐️⭐️🫡
