Previously visited this pub/guest house. Lovely rooms food and staff. However this time was a poor experience. Last year we paid £60.00 and for the same this year we paid £120.00. But based on our previous experience we thought it was worth it. We put our stuff in our room upstairs and overlooked the fact that the toilet seat was hanging off. These things happen! We went down stairs for a drink. We had a couple of glasses of wine each. At £9 per glass this came to £36.00 We had brought with us our own bottle of Prosecco for I drink in the room. When I asked the lady behind the bar for 2 Prosecco glasses for the room she replied, “oh so your not going to by the wine from us then.” I said I would if it was a problem (even though I had paid so much already. She gave us the glasses reluctantly. We can back down stairs to eat our meal. I asked her this time for som salt and vinegar for the chips. She said in a very aggressive way “salts there” and pointed to salt already on the table. She returned with the vinegar and slammed it on the table in front of me. When we finished the meal I went to the toilet. On my way back she stopped me and said remember to pay! I hadn’t forgotten… I was hardly going to do a runner. I was staying upstairs and she had my card details anyway. She then made it very clear to some locals that she was annoyed that we hadn’t left her a tip. It was very embarrassing. Before I went to bed I went to the bar again, this time to ask for some extra tea bags and sugar for the room and we had drank a cup of tea already and needed more for the morning. Again she was very rood like I was asking too much. The morning breakfast is served in a small dining room. I was told that there would be eggs and a toaster amongst other items. When my wife and I went down there was one egg each. No bread suitable for the toaster just some hard rolls that I had to cut up to fit in the toaster. My wife is lactose intolerant so lucky we had some milk with us as there was no milk at all in the breakfast area so we wouldn’t have been able to make and tea or coffee. I was surprised that there was no cereal either. All in all it was far too expensive and too little was provided. The woman behind the bar was so rude that it ruined my break. Shame because Nathan the other member of bar staff has always been lovely as is the accommodation. I won’t be returning.

Very nice Inn. Great hospitality. Very nice breakfast spread. Large bed and large room. The only suggestion would be plusher towels and luggage racks to raise luggage off floor. Otherwise, very very nice!

Fantastic location, staff very friendly and welcoming. One of our party has a severe garlic allergy and the chefs made sure to let us know what dishes had garlic. We also had our 30 month old granddaughter with us and she was very well looked after. Recommend the pork belly, very tasty

Such a lovely place with such lovely warm and friendly staff that really can’t do more to give you a personal experience that makes you feel welcome. The rooms are individual and well equipped. The food is beautifully made and presented, couldn’t recommend the steak more. Thank you for your hospitality.

Chose this place as it is close for somewhere to stay after a full day at Silverstone. What a gem of a place, hubby and I thoroughly pleased with the service we received. Beautiful food, hotel room and customer service. The staff were second to none, so welcoming and nothing was too much to ask. 100% will be returning, next time will bring family. Thank you for a wonderful stay. 10/10 xxx

Was looking for somewhere to get a meal after a day out, just chanced the crown & wasn't disappointed. The landlord offered us a table inside or outside, Didnt have full menu on but what was on offer was enough for what we wanted. Had a lovely meal in a relaxed rural village with great host & service. Only down side it to far from home. Would recommend.

Visited Canons Ashby and stumbled upon this place. Our Italian host Claudio was just brilliant. So helpful and engaging. We sat outside in the sunshine and when the food arrived it was really lovely. Overall a great place for lunch. We will be back....

Incredible food, really fantastic! The atmosphere was wonderful, lovely pub and the staff were amazing - friendly, attentive. I think the landlord is Nathan (might have got his name wrong) but what an interesting man and hard worker. Visited twice recently and can't wait to go back.

I mostly come down with my parents as they both really enjoy it. Its got a nice chilled atmosphere especially if the weather holds up and your able to sit outside. Staff are really friendly and talkative to us, they always get me the cider they have on tap as thats generally all i ever order, but I’d recommend it to anyone who prefers dry cider. Overall a really nice charming pub.

Another very high quality Sunday roast. Pub is a bit noisy for a relaxed meal, but otherwise excellent.

Received a voucher for Christmas for a night at The Crown Inn - absolutely unreal experience. We had the most amazing room with a beautiful bathroom. The bed with massive and so comfy. The best part of the visit was the food - the best meal I have ever had. If you visit I recommend you get the Chorizo/Salt & Pepper Squid starter, followed by the mussels for main. Will be visiting in the future!

I do like this pub. The food is generally good, if a little on the pricey side. But the staff are friendly and attentive and the atmosphere is cozy and welcoming. Happy to see that it survived the pandemic. I will be back.

😐 This was a mixed bag. Like a mixed bag of nuts, you get some good and some terrible. Overall the experience was decent and you’ll be happy you went. But there’s a limited menu. The prices are high. The portions are small. The service was slow and we did feel a little forgotten. But this is countered...
