Absolutely terrible place. It was 4 of us and the place was pretty much empty and we were greated with the worse mood I've seen on a long time by any waiter. We asked to move two tables together to be a bit more comfy and the lady repeatedly said that we would have enough space in a single table, when a group of 5 were using 3 tables themselves... Anyway, besides this hicup I thought maybe the food is nice as this seems to be the only option to eat nearby but I was soo wrong. Mild and tasteless is an overstatement for the starters. Some of the mains were just fine, but felt like heaven after the starters. Definitely avoid and travel somewhere else to get a decent meal instead.

What an amazing find. Had driven past this pub a few times. Such friendly helpful staff The food was amazing, and they catered for gluten free and vegan to. And had a very good menu as well as light lunch bits. Just need to have a gluten and dairy free desert, other then sorbet and I'd be in heaven. The pub has a lovely restaurant and outside seating area, as well as the well set out bar area. The bar was very well stocked and had a very wide range of gins. Unfortunately I was driving so couldn't taste test those. Can't wait to go back for a return visit and to try some more of the menu and hopefully some gin.

Group of 4 ate tonight. Staff exceptionally helpful, food excellent, and the value is amazing. Definitely will be back !! Very family friendly pub with a bookcase crammed with books and activities for children, huge garden and plenty of seating inside and out. This place is well worth a visit.

One of the best Sunday roasts ever! The staff are very friendly and the food is wonderful. I had the regular roast beef plate which came with 2 huge Yorkshire puddings! We had plenty of vegetables which came out separately. I highly recommend The George for a terrific meal. Even our fussy teenager found something they like.

So we have been here a few times. It's okay. 2 months ago we paid £34 for mains and dessert. Alcohol seperate. Quality is fine not outstanding. Sunday we paid £47 for almost the same. It's rather expensive now. Overcharged on the lamb shank. Menu says £17.50 bill says £17.99. Two deserts £14.00. We will think again before going here again.

We turned up, (didn't book) , on 8 motorcycles, for lunch, hopefully? 😊, and the manager did us proud, with a table for 8 hungry bikers, that was already waiting for us, the food was nice and hot, and very tasty, from steak and ale pie, chicken pie, ham chips, and eggs, curry, burgers, all served, fast and efficient. Thanks to the staff of the George at Hintlesham, ps ironically we have previously also booked for our Triangle Mcc Christmas dinner. Can't wait.

This is a little gem, the decor has not changed in years and that's a good thing. You could be in the victorian front room of a Manor house completely with piano and fireplace. A till that pings with bottled fizzy pop. Even the music matches. Would recommend. Sadly did not try the food, but every seating area looks perfect for a family get together or romantic meal for two. More high brow. Recommend.

We had fish and chips 3 times. Food was hot and of a good portion size. All 3 of us enjoyed the meal. The service was also at a high standard.

28 of us attended a Christmas lunch in mid December 2023. To cater for a group of this size, is was obviously essential to preorder and prepay . But this was a straightforward forward process, and a few late bookings and out of the norm requests were taken in their stride by the management. On the day, all 28 of u s had piping hot tasty food, (mainly turkey roast- it was Christmas after all!) which was served efficiently and with a smile. I also felt, and everyone I spoke to within our group agreed, that the meal represented excellent value for money.

Well this was a fantastic meal out. Good old fashioned cooking. 3 courses and couldn't fault any of it. Hot, home cooked flavours the meat pie was absolutely amazing. Staff and service was excellent. One way system in place well marked out. Felt safe and comfortable.

Just wanted to thankyou all for a lovely experience at the George this afternoon. Our party of 10 really enjoyed our chosen dishes and the staff did us proud. We don't get together very often but what a treat you gave us! Thankyou

So pleased we chose this pub for an evening meal as it was cool and the staff were excellent. The menu gave so many choices and in smaller appetite plates which we found perfect. I still only managed two courses. Both were tasty and well presented. One of us managed a dessert, the cheescake which was both huge and delicious(she said). We'll be back.

We had a lovely meal at The George today. My partner had fish and chips and I had Roast Beef. Portion sizes were generous and the food was very tasty, perfectly cooked and piping hot. The service was great too with friendly staff. We will definitely be visiting again.

The next best thing to going out for a meal is a home delivery from the Hintlesham George. We just enjoyed an excellent Mother's Day dinner delivered exactly on time by mine host, Daniel. A good selection of freshly cooked veg, delicious roast potatoes, TWO Yorkshire pudds, a massive heap of meat and proper gravy for each person Delicious desserts - a crumble packed full of apple and blackberry and luxurious white chocolate and raspberry cheesecake complemented by a glass of bubbly. Thoroughly recommended, whether in or out of lockdown! (Obviously many questions in this review screen do not apply to home delivery.)

I ordered the cheesy mushroom starter, there didnt appear to be any sauce, it was mushrooms covered in cheese which had been melted. The chicken, bacon, cheese dish was very dry and overcooked. We also ordered the goats cheese tart special as a main which was less tart like, overcooked and difficult to cut. It was not because it was busy as there was only us and one other table eating. The staff were very pleasant and efficient but unfortunately I will not be returning anytime soon.

Very friendly staff who made us feel welcome from start to finish. Good home cooked food at a reasonable price. Would recommend this restaurant which we will definitely go back to another time

First time there, had a lovely meal with the family. The decaf coffee was lovely and I don't always like coffee in restaurants because of it being stewed or too strong. I'm glad I took the risk though because it was really lovely as was the meal.

There were 9 in our party, we were all served together. All of the friends with pies had eyes wide at the size of their pie. Lovely fresh food, hot & presented well. Staff friendly & helpful. Lovely & clean throughout the areas.

My only disappointment is that I don’t live closer to this lovely pub, I’d be back every week for the quiz! The staff were warm, friendly and welcoming. The food was great classic pub fare and the quiz was immense fun. Thank you for making our last holiday evening so perfect.
