I have been a professional medium for 15 and a half years and am VERY sensitive to all the energy forces that surround us. The staff is great and the place is really clean but when I walked into the pub I was ASSAULTED by the dark energy radiating from the bouncers.

I used to like this space until last weekend when the bouncers let in a wedding party of about 40 drunk straight people. They completely took over the entire venue and ruined the vibe. I went from enjoying my night to having about three drinks spilled on me while I was sat down, as there wasn't enough space for them to all get through. I came here because it's supposed to be a safe space for LGBTQIA people, if I wanted a pub full of drunk straights I'd have gone to literally any other place. Please brief your security better.

I spent New Year's Eve here with a bunch of extremely awesome people! A fantastic and unforgettable night. It's under new management currently, that young man Josh is running it really well right now. Thank you London.

Update - weird security member who just talks about followers to the local nos sellers. Not the best vibes for getting in or a way to feel safe as an lgbt person when he’s taking about sleeping with girls and more. Could choose better security. Friendly local fuzz bar. Offering the latest in local talent and cultural discovery. Make this a stop off point on your London tour. So walking in was.. well not awkward like a usual gallery. No bag searches but also not screaming children. So the art didn’t just define the definition but also commanded the venue to present its self in its best light. A mix of brilliant AV and stunning acting skills makes this show a ‘MUST SEE IN LONDON’.

Very nice and relaxed pub with a more edgy dance floor downstairs. I was probably too early, around 9-10, and the dance space was empty. But the bar upstairs had a very friendly atmosphere.

Absolutely love this place! Me and my friend starting going here last summer, really good vibes and lovely staff, Jason and Mateo to name a few - to be honest we come back mostly to see them! Upstairs is a pub relaxed with cool decor and downstairs there’s a bar and a dance floor with djs, always friendly people to speak to! Recommend

Popped in here for a drink on a Friday night. Place has a bit of a student-y vibe. Pub was reasonably quiet, but service was chaotic and quite painful. We left as soon as we finished our first drink. Who knows, maybe we had some bad luck.

Just stumbled across this lovely little bar completely by chance- deceptively unassuming on the outside, which makes it all the enjoyable to come in and find a wonderfully eclectic and quirky interior complete with a cosy, comfortable vibe. Definitely one I’ll be recommending to my crowd!

Popped in... Good selection on drinks, lovely staff great feel to the place... Soo much to look at it's almost like a theatrical museum feel that really works. Definitely going back next time I'm in the area

My friends and I ended up here randomly last Saturday night and we had lots of fun! Ground floor is chilled pub vibes and basement floor is where the music's playing and people are dancing. It's worth mentioning that the guys at the door (bouncers) were super friendly while doing their job, so that made our experience going in very nice.

When you let us through you stopped at two persons of colour. One of you said it was because you were at capacity- as if eight would have been too many more than six. That you cut off the birthday girl. And it could’ve been anyone else. But then one of you said it was because these two were more intoxicated than anyone else- clearly not true. Then you tried to claim she was yelling and aggressive. But when my white friend yelled at you, you let her in to speak to the manager. Not the girl you should have let in. When she spoke up you said “don’t even go there”, “the managers girlfriend is black”. The same manager who ran behind shut doors when someone tried to confront you? And then in defence against what we were trying to get you to understand, you turned to the man, thanking him for being the only sober one enough to get what he was trying to do- the same man who moments ago you denied entry, because you decided he was too ‘intoxicated’. Please do better.

Awesome bar. It has a great vibe. A little cramped but that's par of it's charm. Looks awesome with loads of little do dats to look at. Has a dancefloor downstairs. The bar has a nice variety of different cocktails and beers. 10 out of 10 would go again 😆

I used to leave round the corner and go all the time, I was there on their opening night even! But then I moved to Brighton. I am so happy that after 4 years it still has the same friendly east London vibe it had at the beginning. Highly recommend this place.

Astonishing horrendous experience last night in this venue with a manager / staff who has some serious anger management problems. We walked into the bar at about 9pm with a friend as a first stop for a Night out. I hadn’t been for years but my friend goes all the time so she suggested we check out the dowmstaits. It was open we went and walked downstairs and it was empty. We walked around a bit and there’s was one member of staff sitting there screaming at us like a lunatic; WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERR? GET OUT. YOU DONT BELONG HERE. We were taken a back by the agreesssive approach and walked out not really thinking anything of it. We sit down with my friend at a table to have drinks - casually chatting with bar staff when the same member of staff lunges at with two glasses of water comes screwing at us yelling: DRINK THIS. She relays this: DRINK THIS OR GET OUT. She then preceded to have a shouting match with me apparently I had violated some sacred unknown code of conduct in the bar by going downstairs even though the area wasn’t sectioned off so anyone can walk it and we immediately left when instructed to do this.. I have never been so astonishingly verbally abused on a night out EVER. I would expect this kind of behaviour if we as an example were loud, roudy, trashed the bar, didn’t pay our tab etc. But the way we’re were shouted as paying patrons in a bar was juts utterly dispocabl and abusive…. We are not children that need to be told where to go, to drink water etc If you have some kind of area you don’t want your patrons to go then cordon it off - easy! We have no interested in walking into an empty bar etc The code of conduct of this staff is indefensible. She deserves a sack and I will never visit this venue again - and I don’t think anyone else should rally if they want to pay for the privilege of being shouted at…

Why this club has more than 1 star, it deserves 1 star cause of the people working there (people in the entrance), why managers still hiring people that can ruin their business, you can go to Metropolis club it's waaaaaaaaay better than this one

Amazing little bar. Very cosy and welcoming, good music and wonderful decor. Came here for a few drinks last week and the 2 bar staff were fantastic (including when I accidentally knocked my drink all over the table) and friendly and the door man was friendly and welcoming and I enjoyed our chat while I was out for a smoke. There really was no pretence or hostility that can be felt at some lgbt venues in London. If I didn't live on the other side of town this bar could easily be a regular haunt for me. Looking forward to visiting again. Thank you for the enjoyable night

This used to a Haberdashery shop which is now this lovley drinking hub. Am just writing this review for the lovely Agela who served us with such a warm smile and welcome. Would recommend this place if you are looking for a 1st Class service.

Lovely security and nice vibes inside! It's so important for queer spaces to be understanding when (trans) people cant present ID (getting ur name and gender changed is h a r d). People inside were respectful and their toilets weren't gendered which was nice !! Big ups

I work as security here, it is a peiceful nice night out. We all get drunk but with everyone so friendly your bound to have a fantastic night.

Went here last night. Having looked at the reviews, there’s been a consistent problem with the security staff. They were aggressive with people in the smoking area early in the night. Later, they shoved two people in our group to the ground. When we asked to speak to an owner, they refused. Ended the night on a sour note and didn’t create the sort of atmosphere you’d expect from an LGBTQ+ bar. Won’t be going back.

Edgy pub with dance floor downstairs which gets really busy. Decent music upstairs and down mix of old and new pop. A bar staff were really pleasant and friendly. No entry charge on the night we went. Much better venue than The Glory in my opinion.
